This is something that is REALLY annoying. Many people seem to accidentally leave their guild. There SHOULD be a confirmation.

The main problem with banning people for using multiple accounts is that many of them aren’t from the same person. Many people play at school, work, a friend’s house, a library, etc. Some people may also have siblings who share the same computer. Let’s take my account at GameFAQs for example. I usually log in on my home computer which has its own IP address. I live alone and none of my friends ever log into that site on my computer. Sometimes, I go visit my father who lives in another city and log in on his computer, making my account used by two completely different IP adresses.

On top of that, I used to log in often at the college I studied in. It has over one thousand computers sharing the same IP address. If GameFAQs administrators look at my account’s IP addresses, they will find a main one (home) and two secondary ones (father’s computer and school). They will notice that a very small portion of my account activity uses an IP address shared by hundreds of other accounts. Does it mean that all these accounts are managed by the same person? I never use alternative accounts, I only have one account on GameFAQs. The same apply to Kongregate. If Kongregate administrators look at my account’s IP addresses, they will see that a certain user by the name of Xidphel logged in a few times with my main IP address. Why, because he’s one of my friends and he sometimes log into Kongregate on my computer.

Another problem with banning people for using multiple accounts is Kongregate’s badges. Most people here only play Battle Dawn for the badges. Once they get them, I won’t be surprised if they never play the game again. If for any reason, one of these badge hunters is banned, he can no longer get them. One of Kongregate’s hidden rules states that all users should be able to get any badge no matter what. No badge can be one time only and none can be blocked. Badges make people play games they would never have played. They’re great advertisement for developers. That’s why unabling users to get badges will only lead to Kongregate removing them, thus deleting the corresponding developer’s best method of advertising on this website.

I know that kingk answered to this several times but his solution doesn’t work for me. I want the auto-attack function to be ALWAYS disabled, I don’t want to have to disable it again and again at the start of every battles. I know that allowing ALL cookies can solve this problem but doing so is very unsafe as it will allow all advertising networks to place tracking cookies on my computer. These cookies do not respect your privacy and may track your personal information. Some people may not mind it but I have a different point of view.

If you, kingk, could tell me which specific cookie I should enable to make it work, I would do so as I trust you. I tried enabling www.playmage.com but it didn’t work. There are other solutions though:

1. Make a game preferences .sol file stored on my computer’s shared files.
2. Make it so that the default setting always disables the auto-attack function. However, this would create the same problem I had for people who prefer enabling it.
3. Program it differently so that cookies have nothing to do with the auto-attack function. For example, you could store the preference along with the player’s stats.
4. Similar to number 2 in term of annoying other people, remove the auto-attack function all together.

Not really, I usually just say “See picture” if the picture says enough. Sometimes, however, it’s not really obvious that I met the requirements. I remember one time when I had to prove that I got a certain score but it wasn’t shown on the picture due to the fact that I beat the game before I took the picture and that reloading a save in this game brings your score back to zero. I explained this and said that you get way more than the required score when you beat the game. I had millions of point when the goal was to get a few ten thousands. They gave me the badge. This kind of scenario rarely happen and the one I just explained was the most harder to prove. Back to Tower of Greed, I simply said “See picture” since it was obvious enough… for most people at least.

As a side note, I got my first badge without the use of reporting missing achievements since last week. I downgraded to Flash Player 10.0.22.87 and everything works fine now.

This may be your problem. You included the badges tab, not the chat.

I always include the achievements tab and they always give me the badges I deserve except this one. And if it was this problem, it would still be unfair since it’s obvious that I met the requirements, it’s like saying that you are not a male because you didn’t say so in the first place, do I have to drop my pants? Such technical formalities are useless.

EDIT: In the example Kongregate gives us, the picture shows the achievements tab.

So that is why I can’t get badges! Kongregate refused to give me the impossible badge for Tower of Greed, which is really unfair and frustrating. I spent countless hours trying to get it and even took a picture but they refused it!

What the hell is wrong with Kongregate? I sent 6 reports of missing achievements this week and they decided to not give me the hardest of them all just for the heck of it!

Is it because you can see the name Simon on it? Did you know that it’s my real name? Is it because you can see that my best score so far was 254,400? Did you know that I got this score before badges stopped working?

Please, I beg of you to give me the badge I deserve. It’s clear that I met the requirements.

The expression “Game Over” doesn’t mean that you lose but that the game is over. Originally, the “Game Over” message was seen when you beat the game. Today, this message is used as a way to say that you lost but some rare games still use it for its original purpose, telling you that the game is over whether you won or lost. When you log out, the game is over and so a “Game Over” screen appears.

Because of a bug, I was unable to read what Etre said after completing the Etre’s Secret quest. Can someone type the text for me, including the reward?

This problem made me think of something. It would be great if there was a guide where you could see a map, the script, the quests, etc.

Topic: Sacred Seasons MMORPG / Badges coming to Sacred Seasons -- share your input!

I would strongly recommend a badge involving PvP. However, I would avoid making a badge for an insanely hard and high level quest if I were you. Doing so would only promote slackers to ask higher levels to do the quest for them.

I’m sure that you’re thinking the same thing as I do concerning what I’m going to say next but I will say it for others who don’t understand. Asking for an impossible badge involving the completion of a very hard quest or reaching a ridiculously high level is stupid. Impossible badges are supposed to be for incredibly difficult tasks that are usually really frustrating, not for easy ones where the only “challenge” is just time consuming.

Topic: Kongregate / Kongregate Sidebar Firefox Extension

I can’t clear my cache for some reason. My friend list is wrong because of this, it still shows members who no longer are my friends. I tried reloading while holding Cmd* but to no avail. I even tried clearing my browser’s entire cache but the problem persists. I went to Firefox’s preferences and clicked on “clear my cache” but nothing really happened so I’m not sure if it actually cleared it or not.

• I’m on Mac OS and Ctrl has a different use than the one on Windows, Cmd is actually the Mac’s Ctrl.

I know that the new chat has several problems but I never had any problem with it until now. I also use Safari for Mac and this browser has been said to work pretty fine with the new chat.

Now, what I just said gave me an idea. What if it’s my browser? Even though Safari has the reputation to work pretty fine, it’s possible that it became a problem too.

I just tried Firefox and it works!

Topic: Technical Support / No Chat and Achievements (Weird Problem)

Hello everyone, I have a very weird problem that never happened before. I’ll try to write as much details as possible. I will also explain my situation in a list so that it’s easier to understand.

1. I visit Kongregate and see that I’m still logged in.
2. I start playing a game and notice that I can’t chat with others. “Register or Sign in to chat now, earn points, level up and track your progress!”
3. The plug icon is green, not red.
4. My profile information is at the top right of the screen, everything is normal and I’m really logged in.
5. When I click on “Achievements”, there’s a circle spiraling endlessly.
6. Refreshing the page didn’t change anything.
7. I try logging out and logging in again but the same problem happens.
8. I log out and close all my browser’s windows.
9. I revisit Kongregate and log in again, the problem still persists.

What’s going on with my account? Does any of you know how to fix this? All help will be greatly appreciated.
