Topic: Heroes of the Realm / Suggestions

Hi, I am a noob, have been around this game for only three months, so it is possible that my suggestion is totally pointless due to lack of information. Anyways, here goes:

Suggestion: please finish the game – give us PvP !

It seems obvious that a game like this should allow the players to fight against each other. Right now, all we have for that is arena, coliseum and daily invasions. That’s a start, but that’s not really PvP.

The center of the map is empty, so my guess is that it was reserved for PvP. It would make sense to have strongholds there that each guild can try to control or something like that.

So how long will it take until you finally finish the game?

Right now, we are just playing alongside each other, which is kinda fun, but why pass on the PvP fun?

This is complete nonsense. If there is a game that is perfect in every way, with just one minor flaw, players are not allowed to complain about that flaw? Sorry, but that is just stupid.

Anyway, the two complaints about “racist” and “sexist” have been addressed several times.

- There are only white heroes – is the book/game racist? No. Fantasy games and books are usually loosely based on the European Middle Ages – bows and arrows, swords, and so on. And in the Middle Ages there was hardly any diversity at all because people did not have the opportunity to travel. So putting white, black, yellow, green and purple heroes into such a game would be just a super lame attempt to win the “PC-Medal”.

- The girls have huge bewbs and hardly any clothes – is the movie/game sexist? Well d’uh, of course it is. Sex sells. But the idea that men who enjoy such movies or games will treat women in RL with less respect than other men is just dumb.

Just a reminder:
there were PoL both two days ago (10am) and yesterday (noon), so you can bet they will have more PoL today and tomorrow so people will keep spending cubics on Soulstones.

I am sorry, but I just don’t understand this.
Why didn’t they just roll back the whole server for 48h? They have repeatedly said that they have that ability.
Of course that would have been unfair to all the players who did not exploit the hack; but they could have sent small gifts to those as compensation.
All the statements and actions they eventually took don’t make any sense.
And freezing any accounts permanently is unfair. Sure, the players who exploited the hack knew what they were doing, but it is just a game; most of them probably thought “well this is funny!”
Snail has no people with brains, that is now proven.

Are you guys joking? There are hero rename cards in the game.

It is easier to sell those cards if Snail gives the heroes retarded names.

I apologize. :I sent you a mail the day after – :you just never bothered – :so this means you will not help me with anything? – cannot see the logs for this long ago so we cannot verify the losses. Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Heroes of Gaia] Glitches/Bugs

Started sieging a castle yesterday; durability went down to 11. Then maintenance. After that I sent my heroes to continue the siege. But the durability of the castle now grows 1 point every hour.

I tried to tell a GM. The message said “wait, there are two people in the queue before you”. I waited 20 minutes. Why don’t they just tell people that they are not going to answer? It is bad enough, but making people wait for nothing is ban-worthy.

EDIT – bug is fixed.

There have been some wrong statements about the law here.

If you buy an item and someone else can prove that it was stolen from him, you will have to give it back, no matter what. If the guy who sold it to you is caught, you will probably get your money back; otherwise, you won’t. (Don’t know about insurances for such cases. Don’t care.)

Now, if that item was rather valuable, the law will try to find out whether or not you bought this stolen item knowingly. If they can prove that you did, you will be prosecuted.

Of course no one who bought HoG points during the “sale” will be prosecuted; there is no way to prove that you knew what was going on.

But this works the other way round, too – if anyone tried to sue, he would have to prove that he really really believed that a 99.9%-off-sale was legit. Good luck with that.

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Heroes of Gaia] Recent pricing errors and bans - official Kongregate statement

Realistically, this is what happened:

Everyone knew it was a bug, an error, a glitch, whatever. Those of you who claim that they thought is was a real sale are lying (or very very new to the game).

Are the people who exploited the bug scumbags? Of course not. It is just a game; exploiting a little bug is no big deal. And when the bug didn’t get fixed right away, some people probably felt that they had to go on exploiting it because everyone else did. No one wants to fall behind.

The correct and simple solution has been suggested many times – do a 48-hour-roll-back, take back all bans, send gifts to all those who did not exploit the situation. My guess is that Snail is unable to do the roll-back; otherwise they would have done it already, and this discussion would be over.

Then there are some who think they are entitled to keep what they bought during the “sale”.
Here’s a heads-up for you: the price tags were not wrong because of some mistake or error; they were wrong due to criminal activity. Not only are you not entitled to keep what you bought – you are not even entitled to get your money back.

Think about it – if a thief sells you a stolen rolex, and the real owner can prove that it is his watch, you will have to give it back and will not be refunded. And if you pretty much knew that you were buying a stolen watch, you will even be prosecuted yourself.

And with this “sale”, you knew that something was wrong. So just be grateful if you get your money back – it is more than you are entitled to.

QFT. The experienced players knew what they were doing, but the noobs may really have thought this “sale” was legitimate; and obviously everyone should to be treated the same way.

Please don’t pretend to be stupid, “customers”.

If the “sale” had said “20% off”, no one could have blamed you. It would have been perfectly credible. Same goes for 40% off, even 60% off.

No one can say where exactly it becomes dubious. But what can be said is that at 99.9% off, even the dumbest knows that something is wrong. All HoG is about is grinding; if they suddenly let everyone have everything almost for free, the game is kaput. You knew that, so you also knew that this could only be some error.

Exploit an error – no biggie.

Exploit an error, get caught and punished, then complain – ridiculous.

So you go ahead and start buying points. Why not?

You of all people shouldn’t be writing stuff like this. You play this game all the time.
You know your way around this game. You aren’t a noob.
So when the snafu happened:
- you knew that the game goes to hell if suddenly everyone gets everything pretty much for free. Therefore
- you knew this was some kind of error. And of course
- you knew that Snail reps are usually not around and don’t give a damn.

You knew what this was. But you didn’t ask Kong about it; you just kept exploiting the snafu.

To say your complaint is ridiculous or that you are a hypocrite is an understatement.

I have no idea what you find so weird about that.

I wrote this only three weeks ago! How short is your attention span?!

So do you have anything NEW to add ?!

Only problem is, this doesn’t work as long as everyone can see that you are lying.
And boy, have you been lying about me a lot.

My opinion is and always has been:

HoG has great potential.
But it isn’t good or even playable the way it is now.
You would have to be insane to play it longer than a few weeks.
Europeans can’t play at all because the cap battles are in the middle of the night.
So after a few weeks and a few million fame I quit.

Wait, let me get this straight -

I asked if you had anything new to add, and so you bumped an 18 months old thread.

And you are telling me the explanation was in that post that I had removed? Well, sorry, bubba, but I stopped reading at “Nazi” and “SS”, so I have no idea what else was in there.

Yeah, just be grateful I had your post removed; it made you look like an idiot.
I should have left it there for everyone to see.

Your own last post was a complaint.

When was the last post added that wasn’t a complaint, or a call for help with bug problems?

My argument was: Kong shouldn’t host a game full of bugs and cheating.
Your argument was: but some people like to play it anyway.
I replied that they can do so on Snails own website.

Got anything new to add to that?

Ok, enough with the jokes.

You like HoG, you play it every day, and it is the only game you play on Kong.
And you are pissed off that I won’t just leave the darn game alone. I get that.

But this is Kong. Players might spend Kreds and real money on HoG, only to find out that they wasted it on a game where cheating happens on a regular basis and many things don’t work properly.

That’s not ok.

And since you can always play the game from Snails own page, there is really no reason to keep it here if Snail doesn’t want to do anything about the problems.
