I would love to see the topic starter on the topics overviews. That way it would IMO be easier to assess the actual content of that topic. For example a “Challenge ideas” topic by someone I’ve never heard of will more likely be random rambling, while the same topic from Greg might (I say might) be very interesting indeed.

New update version 1.3.3:

v Added basic AND/OR capabilities in the badge filter box.

v Added support for up to 4 simultaneous challenges.

v Fixed some styling issues.

v Separated the Change user and other buttons a bit to prevent accidental clicks.

v Added an early informative message about available updates of the extension (since it’s mostly a screen scraping extension, it is more likely to get a lot if updates depending on Kongregate site development)

v Added a (small) options window for the few settings available (the options window can be accessed through the extension manager, menu Tools/Add-ons).

New update version 1.3.1:

v Added preference to change the sidebar’s keyboard shortcut key (about:config only, extensions.kongregate.sidebarkey)

v Bugfix: The texts from shouts and whispers was not being processed correctly anymore.

About the keyboard shortcut, since it’s probably not that big a problem for most people, I decided to not yet make an options window just for this setting. So for now you can change the key by changing the extensions.kongregate.sidebarkey preference in about:config, and restarting Firefox.

@Yeknomssa, this problem should already have been fixed in version 1.3, and for me it has. So could you please check if you already had that version? (Mozilla is still very slow to review updates, so version 1.3, and 1.3.1 now are still pending approval…)

Then I did understand you after all. First of all, the KongFox theme is not my project (I s*ck at graphics), you should be in this topic. Having said that, you can either reset your password on addons.mozilla.org (and if that does not work ask help on the AMO irc /moznet/addons channel), or ask Federalist if he can also upload the beta to his own website.

Grumpfff, I finally had a nice round version number again… Another tiny itty bitty update to version 1.3.0.1 is available on my website only (until the next major release):

v Bugfix: Sort the achieved badges by date + SQLite rowid instead of date + game.

New update version 1.3 (mostly a stability update):

v Remove the cached favorites before refreshing them (to be able to process deleted ones).

v Process updated avatars in shouts and whispers.

v Implemented autocomplete history for the filter and search textboxes.

v Changed the textbox type=“timed” which will be depreciated in Firefox 3.1.

v Changed badge images where not being updated.

v Changed sort order of achieved badges (date + game instead of date + release date)

v Added a confirm message before sending a shout or whisper.

v Display the date you acquired a badge.

v Bugfix: After completing the last available challenge, the white box would remain on the sidebar until you restarted.

v Bugfix: Messages where cut of if they contained a CRLF.

Version 1.2.9 which is currently only available from my website (cause Mozilla is still really slow to review and release updates to extensions…) should be compatible with 3.1b1.

Since there’s no relation between a Kongregate badge and a Kongreguide guide, I currently don’t see any chance of linking these in the sidebar… Just play the games, guides are for… ;)

Small update on my website only for now, version 1.2.9:

v Achieved by date now actually sorts by the date you achieved it instead of the date the badge was released.

v Tested on Firefox 3.1b1

Ah, is that all? That’s the price you pay for wanting to use beta versions.
I’ll update the version on my website this weekend, but the official release on AMO will wait until 3.1 has been officially released.

@GHXpert59, Could you also explain WHY someone would want this? Does it even have to do anything with the Kongregate Sidebar, or do you just want ChatZilla to load in a sidebar? (which I think is possible). It would be quite a lot of work, and to be honest, I really don’t see anything good in it… Anyone else?

There (occasionally) is 1 ad on the Kong website which is currently breaking the sidebar (it is causing the site to not be in valid XHTML), I’m working on that one, but a reload usually does the trick. If that’s not it, could you check your Tools/Error console for errors?

@hokage4354, do you mean it keeps asking you for your username? If so then I think you might have more problems then just this with other extensions as well, cause storing this preference is quite a basic simple thing in Firefox. Anyway, we can try the following to see if that fixes the problem (for now):

* Be careful with editing about:config preferences
Close the sidebar, and go to about:config (type it where you would normally enter a website address), filter the preferences on kongregate so only those are shown, next right click on the extensions.kongregate.username preference and click on Reset. Now open the sidebar, and enter your username as usual again. Hopefully this will fix it.

New update version 1.2.7:

v Rewrote the challenges bit, and redesigned the looks of challenges on the sidebar. (challenges now also link to the new card album, thanks Etagergnok213 for reminding me)

v Use the sidebar’s throbber instead of a progress meter (allows the sidebar’s minimum size to be a bit more smaller too)

The update will automatically become available through the Mozilla update system, but that might take some time (since there are still too many pending addons….), so you might want to install it from my website or create an AMO account (to be able to install experimental addons from addons.mozilla.org).

@Kyle94, It should only take quite some processing time the very first time it loads, cause then all badges and stuff are loaded into a cache database on your computer. After that first time you should hardly notice anything. You can resize it, or just close it when you don’t need it (CTRL + SHIFT + K, or add the toolbar button, or go to the View/Sidebar menu).

ZOMG!!!!! After 4 months he Kongregate Sidebar has finally been reviewed by a Mozilla reviewer and is now available without the need to register on AMO, and the Firefox automatic update system will now finally work!!!! w00t!
