    <body>New update version 1.5.3.7:

v Changed the loading order of items so that the more important JSON feeds are processed before the HTML screen scraping code.

v The loading indicator now only indicates the requests, and not the processing of data, and also shows a tooltip indicating what it's loading exactly (in case of problems).

Soo... Hit it again notverygood! And should it still not load correctly, then please switch on the debug logging option, restart Firefox, and check the Tools/Error console for me again.</body>

<body>I assume you're talking about the awards? In that case that is correct, I did not want to do a rewrite for the new paginated awards count only, so I asked Andrew (Kong developer) if he could include the count in the JSON profile (a lot faster and safer), and he said yes. So, now it's just a little wait until the next site update or something.</body>

    <body>New update version 1.5.3.6:

v Implemented the new badge pages links in the header of each badge view.

v Implemented nsIJSON instead of eval() for Firefox 3 users, dropped support for Firefox 2.

v Renamed Tickets to Awards.

v Implemented better handling of not well-formed XML problems.

@notverygood, if you're still reading this ;) This version should at least prevent the sidebar from getting stuck loading, but most likely your whispers will not show up until Kongregate is fully XHTML valid... Not really a big problem, just annoying if your sidebar gets stuck on it...</body>

<body>@notverygood, the Firefox error console is not only used by my sidebar extension :) Could you perhaps just hit the &quot;Clear&quot; button in the error console, and then reload the sidebar? The sidebar displays caught errors in the console starting with &quot;Kongregate Sidebar Debug Message:&quot;. Since I *can* load the sidebar using your username, my best guess is that you have a whisper which contains invalid XHTML... Anyways, to test that theory, could you try to load the sidebar using my (or any other) username?</body>

My best guess is that the extension somehow got disabled, or perhaps you simply closed it.
1. Check your Tools/Add-ons/Extensions, to see if the Kongregate Sidebar is even still there, and if there's a message on it (disabled + reason?)
2. Is it still available in the View/Sidebar menu, if so, what happens if you click the Kongregate Sidebar there again?</body>

<body>@notverygood, are you still experiencing these problems? I did notice them too last night (local time...), but then Kongregate itself was just loading slow as well for a bit. Now all seems OK over here, also tried your profile. I must say that with currently 840 badges on Kong, the UI might start becoming a bit heavy on some pc's, might need to work on that soon, viewing ALL badges on my average (3 year old) pc takes about 2-4 seconds.

If it appears to be looping, could you check your Tools/Error console for Kongregate Sidebar error messages for me?

The ticket counter does indeed still only count the 1st page on your profile. The ticket/card count will be in Kongregate's JSON profile in one of the next site updates, it's just too slow/heavy/cumbersome/not worth it to rewrite it now to screen scrape your entire profile page 3+ times...</body>

v Load favorites from the profile JSON feed instead of screen scraping it.

v Bugfix: Kongregate fixed 1 of the 5 malformed XHTML errors in the stat tracking image, causing my quickfix to fail, and bringing back the problem of some things not loading...

The unofficial update notifier is also broken again because of the above, so get your updates from the &quot;Kongregate Sidebar page on my website&quot;:http://www.captaincaveman.nl/firefox-extensions-kongregate-sidebar.aspx</body>

ps. This version does not yet fix the ticket counter only counting the new 1st page, I'm still waiting a bit longer hoping that Andrew can include these in the JSON profile.</body>

<body>I think Kong is doing these things on purpose, just to put me out of business :P

Just kidding of course, but all the screen scraping data, so the data that is not yet retrieved using the JSON feed (ticket/card count, friends/favorites/whispers/shouts) are currently affected by yet another invalid XHTML error on the site. I have contacted Kong about it, but I will try to work around it before they answer me most likely.</body>

<body>Just joining in the conversation cause I heard someone say Kongregate Sidebar :)
The version that is currently published on AMO (1.4.6.5) still uses a LOT of screen scraping and SQLite caching which did indeed take up quite a lump of processing power. The current releases (starting from 1.5) however use a JSON feed and no longer need caching, it should barely take time anymore (except for friends/whispers/shouts a bit perhaps), please let me know if it still does for you. A general note on the sidebar is that it will not do anything at all while you are playing a game on Kong, except for the initial load when you just started Firefox.</body>

<body>Ah, the new badges page is just a nice gift for all the stubborn IE users that are not willing to move to Firefox :P

No, I must admit that I was quite shocked when I first saw the new layout. But I think that the sidebar does indeed still have enough advantages over the site itself to remain a very useful tool. So as long as it still has about 2000 active daily users, I wont just quit :)

ps. The site update also included paginated tickets on your profile pages which unfortunately broke the sidebar's ticket counter. I have already contacted Andrew requesting the counters to be added in the profile JSON feed, otherwise I'll just have to do a little rewrite. Either way, the update will be available asap.</body>

    <body>New update version 1.5.3:

v Load profile info from the JSON feed instead of screen scraping it.

v Bugfix: Most recently/often played games views were broken in the last style update.

v Bugfix: Infected Fury Month added a whisper in invalid HTML to your profile, this whisper caused the cards and tickets counters not to work.

Sorry it took a bit longer then usual for me to fix the problems, but finding a bug that only occurs if you had received an Infected Fury Month whisper from Kongregate (which I haven't) proved to be quite difficult :)</body>

<body>@All pre Firefox 3.5 users, I made the mistake of not checking my changes on the previous release of Firefox (3.0.x), and it just happens to be my luck that this time I implmenented Firefox
's JSON interface, which was introduced in 3.5... I'll work on an update for you all this afternoon.

@Bobogoobo, I'll add points to the copied stats as well. The ticket's will be just a simple 1 liner in the sidebar's header (similar to cards) and an extra line in the copied stats. I don't think I'll be scraping Kongregate for more details about the cards, they already have a beautiful album for it, and it's &quot;just&quot; history, so IMO a link is enough.

@hello5666, why haven't you installed Firefox yet?</body>

    <body>New update version 1.5:

v Badges are now retrieved from the JSON feed instead of screen scraping!

v Added new &quot;Awarded&quot; stat and views for it, indicating the number of people who have already achieved a badge.

v Brought back Kongregate user switching, with the new JSON feed it allows easy and fast access to your friends' Kongregate data.

The new JSON feed and all these features that kind of accidentally came along with it come courtesy of &quot;Andrew&quot;:http://www.kongregate.com/accounts/andrew, so leave him a shout if you like it!

@The_3lder, how does the embarrassed smiley look again? I completely forgot to ad the ticket count + stat... Next release, I promise ;)

@Protoblob, those should be problems of the past with version 1.5.</body>
