Awesome idea!
@Dragons members, boost me!

This is going to become a recurring theme, isn’t it?

Anyway, I’m assuming you don’t have Odin or Orbo the Wrathful either, correct? I’d guess the next best legendary would be Nimbus.

i don’t know the winrate, but is works more than half of the time.

Guessing you meant something like this?

Dalia, Abominable Raksha, Support Carrier, Bolide Walker, Support Carrier, Bolide Walker, Support Carrier, Bolide Walker, Support Carrier, Bolide Walker, Support Carrier – Ordered: 66.5% win rate (82.5% with Dracorex)

I haven’t tested it, but putting in Hephatat/Apollo and Engulfing Chasm might be a good idea if you have them.

EDIT: For example, Dracorex, Undertaker (8), Command Center (2) on Lithid nets a 73% win rate.
I’m sure there are better (and more practical) decks, though, for this and the other two raids, so any ideas?

I briefly investigated Undertakers for the new raids. The only one it seems to work exceedingly well in is Jotun.

Pity, I’ve already completed Jotun (limited Hephy!). Then again, I’m not necessarily looking for a deck that does exceedingly well – did you find any with anywhere around an 80% rate?

Mostly a matter of opinion. Dracorex is the unanimous choice, as he’s a great commander for many decks, but the rest is arguable; EQG, Plasma Field, Grim Specter, Bulging Mantis, Beetle Bomber, Plague, Utopia Beacon… they’ve all been suggested at one time or another. I’d say that other than Dracorex, you should just hold on to your WBs until you’ve got a very good understanding of the game and know precisely what you want.

Topic: Tyrant: General Tyrant Discussion / Would love an opinion on my deck

I think the first thing you should do is know where you’re focusing your deck – I’d guess its meant to be a strike heavy deck, but a few cards in there don’t match that archetype. Mawcor, Fury walker, and Demon in particular don’t seem to fit here.

If you want to focus on Strike, take a look at Predator, Tiamat, maybe Sabre. Not sure when you’d be able to get them, but Stealthy Niaq, Lucina the Wicked, Pathfinder and Teslatank are also possibilities.

It’s great to have four new raids, but I was just wondering if you’ve got anything planned in regards to old raids. I remember you mentioning back during Winter Solstice that you were working on a way to address the low participation issues, any chance that’ll come out in the next month or so?

No, new raid rewards (two xeno raids for homeworld, two righteous raids with rush for purity if I’m not mistaken). Except for the three promos, obviously.

By the way, the Devs mentioned back in the Winter Solstice thread they were working on a “fix” to the low participation in old raids, set to come out January/February. Any news on that?

The sim only works on Windows, doesn’t it? I can’t be sure, but the screenshot doesn’t look to me like Windows 7 or Vista or anything.

It’s also in French (at least some of it), but I don’t think that would interfere with anything.

But… isn’t the goal of the game to catch ’em all?

Which was made impossible for most people, with Leonidas.

Don’t get me started on that BS.
They essentially said F-U to all foreign players by releasing that card.
Devs only care about you if you live in the USA, if not you are just a cash cow to them.
But then again the devs hate all of us, its why so many glitches and bugs (faction chat lag anyone?) go unfixed forever; the devs are happy taking our money but don’t care about customer service one bit, and many people are stupid enough to still buy WB knowing this.

If people would stop buying WB and demand bug fixes/equal treatment as Americans get, I guarantee devs would change their tune, but it’ll never happen :/

I keep seeing this chat lag mentioned, and I still don’t know what that is. I’m not lagging at all.

First of all, there’s the buggy scrolling. Try scrolling faction chat around a bit and it’ll start making copies of all the text, looping it over and over, essentially making it impossible to reliably scroll up and read what was said a while back.

Secondly, if you check faction chat regularly (like most good factions require) with the same tab/window (i.e. no refreshing or closing the tab/window), it will, after a while, start hogging more and more resources, so even if you have a great computer, you will eventually get laggy as well.

true but there are cards that never be obsolete, like earth quake generators and plasma fields. well maybe devs will make non wb version of plasma field but i doubt it and its a must have for many decks, even more important now than dracorex.

When the devs create an “Immortal All” action card, I’ll be sure to come back to this thread ;)

But really, the undeniable power creep ensures that any and every card will, eventually, be obsolete. Earthquake Generators have already fallen greatly out of use. Dracorex has kept strong mainly because he was insanely good at the time of release, and so cards haven’t quite surpassed him yet.

A second Draco is great. That way you don’t have to switch it in between your offensive and Defensive decks.

Dracorex is no doubt a good commander (arguably the best up ’til now), but if you absolutely need him for both offense and defense, then you need to be more creative.

If you still decide you want him in both offence and defence no matter what, and you would really rather pay 25 WBs instead of having to waste 15 seconds switching him… well, that’s your choice, I guess. The whole “pay for convenience” thing. Like the deck slots, if they were actually useful.

Topic: Tyrant: General Tyrant Discussion / What should I buy with my wb?

Having a second Dracorex is not necessary, it’s only a minor convenience; I’d say it’s more worth it to save for something else, unless you absolutely can’t stand the occasional juggling.

Also, Mantis? I don’t have it, and I haven’t faced many, so I can’t say anything for certain, but it doesn’t seem worth it to me (assuming you’re not a frequent WB buyer, in which case it’s pretty decent).

You may also want to consider Plasma Field, or saving those WBs for the next must-have WB card. Beetle Bombers are suggested by some, but I personally don’t find them to be very important.

As for the energy upgrades… I like them, and bought both with my free WBs, but most people seem to think they’re not too useful. If you log in frequently, then they’re only good for (some) raids, so your WBs may be better spent elsewhere.

Anyway, just want to make sure you thought this through well so you won’t regret anything later. And by the way, if you want to buy Mantis, you should do it soon, because new Promos are already en route.

Topic: Tyrant: General Tyrant Discussion / What should I buy with my wb?

I frequently see people suggesting joining WB tourneys if you want more WBs, and I can’t help but wonder if that advice is sincere. From a mathematical point of view, every tourney is a loss – the 30% tournament cut means the expected return is less than what you paid to join, not to mention that WB tourneys rarely get enough players to validate the Top 1% position, meaning that even more WBs are sucked out of the playerbase due to rounding and payout system.

Add to that the fact that players who ask such things are usually somewhat inexperienced, and stand little chance against many tournament regulars.

Unless over half of the people in WB tournaments are bots, I would strongly disencourage joining WB tourneys unless you either are a frequent WB buyer or are planning on joining for keeps because you want the four packs.

Just go any Top 10 faction war and you will notice they make a quite average Mono-righteous Def deck :) Period.

I have not in fact been in many Top 10 wars (I’m in a 10 – 20 rank faction), but from the few times I’ve seen those cards, they just add some spice to the deck, without really changing the flavor. The decks I face are always still focused on putting up a strong wall rather than breaking mine, and I’ve yet to see a mono-righteous which actually puts emphasis on rallying and dealing heavy damage.

This is just my opinion, but a handful of more attack-oriented cards still doesn’t change the fact that the Righteous are a heavily defense-oriented faction, which is weaker in terms of offence to compensate. There’s a reason Jotun has healing and jamming (freezing) as his abilities rather than, say, rally and strike.

In theory, sure, those cards could help, but, really, how many times have you seen those be used in competitive environments? Benediction is quite lackluster for a four-wait legendary, Vigil’s usefulness is decreased by its (relatively) low survivability and the randomness of single-target rally, and equalizer relies much too heavily on placement (not to mention its somewhat difficult to acquire).

I’m certain you could find exceptions to everything I said, but I went with generalizations, as well as relying on common experience. Righteous has no dearth of supply, heal, and protect, the chief slow-roll survivability skills, but lacks disease, fear, swipe, and has few cards able to break a stall easily.

I would say right now Righteous is maybe the second strongest faction, but it is still very far behind Bloodthirsty. I mean Bloodthirsty might be the best faction alone if only for SS, GS and Asylums, but they also have stuff like Necrogeddon and Ogres. Not to mention the Bloodthirsty cards that work well in other decks, Dracorex, Noxious Den, and many others.

It looks like devs are at least trying to restore some balance between factions by giving Imperials a major boost in the form of Hephatat and Tabitha with the Solstice event. Raiders still kinda suck although I guess they have good rally and can do Impulse Walker spam. Poor Xeno though. When people first got Azure Reapers they were one of the best, but unfortunately they have gotten little since then.

Righteous is the all-around self-supporting type – hard to kill, but lacks break-through power.

Bloodthirsty is heavily offensive and destructive – which, in the current aggressive meta, rocks.

Raider has good wallstall cards (Acropolis, Command Center, Missile Silo, Gatling Towers, Fortified Cannons, Bulldozer) and Salvagers, that’s about it. Lack of healing is especially a pain – it ruins possible great meatshields like Gun Raven, Mobile Command, and Bulldozer.

Imperial lacks internal synergy – its greatest cards are non-faction-specific (like Lance Riders, Hephatat, Nimbus, Tiamat, etc). Tabitha may bring some new life here, but since II went out of style, Imperial mono-decks have been few and far between.

Xeno… Azure Reapers are still great for missions and raids, but its PvP use is quite limited. With the exception of Raksha and Kyrios, I can’t think of any spectacular Xeno card released recently. And with the rate of power creep, old = weak.

Unless the Devs specifically stated you will not be able to, or the player editing the wiki has access to privileged information, I think it is a little early to determine that yet. Never forget… anyone can edit a wiki.

Yeah, hence the “claims” and “would seem to be”. Not taking it for a fact, just pondering the possibilities.

I’m pretty sure the wiki says that because it copy-pasted some stuff from the Hades page, and no one bothered to check if it was right. Buying both arts has been mentioned long ago (I for one brought up the possibility before the raid even started, you can check the WS spoilers thread if you want). The devs haven’t confirmed it, but they haven’t shot down the idea either, and I doubt they’d go out of their way, i.e., change the way the store works just to “lock” the limited edition art, to ensure it doesn’t happen.

So I’d say it’s a pretty safe guess that you will in fact be able to get both.

I’ve also been stalled by BoD. It doesn’t need to regen that much actually; if you’re left with only one unit, you have to kill all the enemy units before being able to attack the wall/commander. Jotun only runs out of cards around turn 32, and from that point on BoD only needs to regen once every two turns, which means eight or nine regens would have been enough to force a stall.
