A small UI improvement: I would like to see the line spacing in the news box be more condensed. Even after toggling off the more spammy notifications, I often have to scroll to see what items or how much XP I got from a recent kill. There is easily room enough for 8 lines of text there instead of just 5. Thanks.

TFCG “draw” cards don’t work if hand is full/near full

- 4/6 cards in hand. Play "Time Warp," 3/6. Get two cards. 5/6.
- 5/6 cards in hand. Play "Time Warp," 4/6. Get one card. 5/6.
- 6/6 cards in hand. Play "Time Warp," 5/6. Get nothing. 5/6.

Playing a "draw" card frees a space in my hand, which should be filled by a new card, right? But that's not how it works. Time Warp awards cards based on how many I have *when* I play it instead of *after* I play it. That doesn't seem right.

The mouseover tooltip takes too long to appear. Should be like a 0.2 second delay, not a 1.0 second delay.

Topic: GemCraft Labyrinth / M9

My first M9 attempt was to group all my defenses in the center to protect myself from both sides. This was way off.

Space out your defenses on this map; your walls and towers should look something like this: http://imgur.com/bToRV

This way every tower hits 2-3 parts of the map. Hope this helps.

Topic: Heroes of Gaia / Giving credit where credit is due

I tried to do one of the free surveys through Offerpal for a few free Kreds— I answered a bunch of questions for about 20 minutes, only to get a message at the end that I wasn’t eligible for that survey and I should try another one. Why couldn’t they tell me that before I answered all those questions? >_< Granted, that’s Offerpal’s fault, not Kongregate’s, but it’s still a little frustrating. Maybe I’ll try a different one later.

Topic: Heroes of Gaia / Kongregate referral links are broken.

I noticed the new button to “Refer Friends to Play Heroes of Gaia” in the upper left, and thought I’d try it out. I got my link and sent it to a friend. I thought it was a little weird because part of the message says “come to Server test3 to play with me!” I’m on Narcissus; I don’t know why the referral link says test3. Strike 1.

They followed the link and it took them to Kongregate’s new user registration page – except that they already have an account on Kongregate. People have to make a brand new Kong account to use the referral link for this game? That doesn’t seem right. Strike 2.

I got him to try it anyway because I was curious about the rewards. He made the new account and then went to Heroes of Gaia. He came to my server and started playing. It had only been an hour and he only had about 50 fame, but I thought I’d check just to see if anything had registered in-game. (“Refer Friends” button, “Get Reward” tab, “Record” button.) Players I’ve referred? 0. And on his account, Recommended by? 0. Zeroes across the board. No record of it at all. Strike 3.

I like the idea of referral links where both the sender and recipient get additional rewards, but for the moment this is totally broken.

This is an ongoing issue. The same thing happened again today, except that instead of impersonating whoever was talking in global, our troll has moved on to impersonating the server’s top-ranked players, trying to get them permabanned. I brought more proof:

If you can’t find a way to IP ban this guy, PLEASE at least educate the GMs as to what’s going on. Yesterday they weren’t just muting people, they were handing out permanent account freezes to innocent players who had been impersonated. This is completely inappropriate and I strongly hope that something is done to resolve this issue.

If you look carefully at that screenshot, there is a space before and after the VK. That’s the impersonator. Then immediately after that, the real VK got the 12 hour mute.

I watched this happen. It occurred on the Narcissus server. There is a troll who keeps making new accounts that are very similar to existing player accounts. Then he spams hate speech and curse words in Global chat to entice the GM into banning him. I must have seen about 10 perma-bans happen in the last hour, and I’m willing to bet they were all the same guy making new accounts. However that’s not the real problem.

There is a player named VK who had about 25000 fame. A new player named [space]VK[space] was created by the troll, which looks very similar in-game. The problem is that the GM banned the wrong one. The original VK was banned.

This happened again about 5 minutes later. Another player named Zacharia (70000 fame) was talking, and the impersonator made an account named [space][space]Zacharia. Again he started spamming hate speech, and again came the banhammer… but against the REAL Zacharia, who hadn’t said anything offensive.

This is a little frightening since I feel like it could happen to anyone, even if they haven’t done anything. Please make sure the GMs are absolutely certain when they ban someone that it is the right person. I hope the accounts of the innocent players are restored properly as well.

I believe that there should be more protection against this sort of thing… spaces should not be allowed at the beginning or end of player names, and you should really have a way to IP ban people instead of having to ban every new account they make.
