Investing
Depending on how much money you’re wanting to invest, it might be easier to just make your own indie studio. You should be able to find TONS of good talent if you’re willing to invest that much money.

The Lost Egg (Unity)
Hi ShadowDragonTam,
(This is essentially the same thing I wrote in Bronsoner’s thread so if you read that one you don’t need to read this)
I’m also a composer and I’d like to work with you. Here’s my website, and here’s a link to a game that is on kongregate that I did the music for: Turn out the light At this point in my career I do a little bit of every style of “classical” music. Some instrumental, some vocal, and some electronic . I’d also like to add that I am very reliable and have had about 6 developers tell me that they no longer have the energy to work on the project. I tell you this to let you know that I am very committed to projects and that I have a lot more experience in game design than my site makes it appear. (My sincere apologies about that. I’m in the process of upgrading to a new site so the old one is a little outdated). I also can normally write music very quickly. I’ll almost always get you a new track every week, and most of the time it only takes a day or two.
Good luck with your project! Sounds like you know what you’re doing to have it so completed before posting here. I love the look of the main menu btw. I look forward to hearing from you!

Jojn a team, make a game, earn money, get equity
Seems fair enough. :)So (to summarize what you said in my own words and/or offer a slight change) Edeslash and I are both considered composers for this group, but depending on the style of music needed for the game, either I would do it, Edeslash would do it, or we’d split the work. Is that a good summary?

I know you already sent Edeslash a PM, but I’m also a composer and I’d like to work with you. Some instrumental, some vocal, and some electronic (though Edeslash’s electronic stuff sounds a lot better than mine does). I’d also like to add that I am very reliable and have had about 6 developers tell me that they no longer have the energy to work on the project. I tell you this to let you know that I am very committed to projects and that I have a lot more experience in game design than my site makes it appear. (My sincere apologies about that. Good luck with your project! Sounds like you have the drive and the brains to be a successful game designer, now you just need to get a team assembled!

Partnership Question
The game would be uploaded by one person, and the other people involved could be listed as developers, but they don’t have to be. Then, the person who uploaded the game could set up a revenue share in Kongregate, so that so much % of revenue could be given to everyone involved directly. I haven’t done it, but I think it’s pretty simple to do.
Hope this helps!

Ok, try looking at this link then. Maybe if you’re a little more specific about your project you’ll attract more help. :-)

Need Jobs For An App/Game
The way to do that is to just make everything similar, but not exactly the same (think most of the world of pop music). Instead of calling it “My Little Pony” you call it “My Little Horsey” and you change all of the character names just slightly. Sure, it’s an obvious copy, but there’s no copyright infringement going on and as long as you have the same feel for the game as for the TV show, no one playing the game will really care about the difference.

Changes to the Collabs section
Yeah, I have to say that the collabs sections doesn’t really have much purpose. It’s sorta cool to have, but anyone who’s serious about their art and/or music already has it uploaded to another website, so why bother uploading it to a flash game site? I’m a fairly serious video game composer, and whenever I want to point someone to a sample of my work, I post a link to my website, not the collabs section. I’ve seen other people do the same thing or link to soundcloud to show samples of their music. After all, wasn’t part of the original purpose of the collabs section to provide a space for people who are, Idk, collaborating? :-P Now that it isn’t used for that much at all, does it really have a purpose on a social gaming site?

Need Jobs For An App/Game
This sounds like it has the potential to be a good project. :-) I’m a composer and I would love to do the music for your game. Here’s a link to my website. Have a listen to the video game music reel and let me know if you like what you hear. I’ve also done the music for Turn Out the Light. I haven’t watched any of the My Little Pony episodes, but if I got this job I would definitely watch at least a few to understand the general feel of the My Little Pony Series. If you’d be interested in having me as a member of your team, feel free to private message me (or just respond in this forum).
Thanks!

Looking for Artist
Is this even for a video game? If so I’d like to point you to this thread for some pointers on how to make a good first forum post. If it isn’t for a game than you probably won’t have much luck on a game forum…

Can you do covers?
Technically you still need permission to make covers of different pieces. So you wouldn’t own the copyright for it so you couldn’t upload it to sounds. However, you can always take the risk that no one will find out that you don’t have the copyright.

Wow, you write some really cool stuff. :-) I’m another composer and I have to ask: Did you get your virtual instruments from garageband or protools? Good luck with finding someone to work with!

Team Up for "Epic Flash Game Contest"
Ok, I don’t want to give away too many details of my idea but I was thinking a multiplayer action sort of game. Basically you and a bunch of other people would team up to defeat HORDES of enemies that would be coming at you. There would of course be upgrades for your hero that you could buy so that would be a way to incorporate microtransactions. How does that sound? I figure that everyone will be doing something more MMORPG oriented so this would be different. I have more details thought out but I don’t want to share them on a public forum. Especially since I don’t even know for sure that I’m on the team.

Team Up for "Epic Flash Game Contest"
I could bring some music, and I’ll start thinking about an awesome multiplayer idea. Here’s my website. Sounds like a fun project! Oh, and by the way, I’m very comfortable with writing music quickly (start to finish in 1 or 2 days). Just in case this project doesn’t get done until the last minute… ;-)

i need someone that can help build a game
So are you a programmer who needs an idea, or an artist who is being very vague about wanting to help out? (As long as you aren’t a freeloader who wants to steal a game idea or just be an “idea guy” you’ll be fine)

Looking for a team.
kingamzaing, in all honesty it’d probably be easier for you to just learn the programming yourself. Finding a programmer to program your game for you is very difficult to do, and if you do find one I’d imagine that they wouldn’t be as dedicated as you would probably like them to be. Learning the extra programming would be hard, but if you could manage it it’d be much better. You already have some programming experience under your belt from one game so you have a good start. Just some things to consider! Of course, if you are willing to pay some money up front for someone else to program your game then you could probably find a programmer.
Anyway, I’d also be willing to write music for you once you get a little further along in development. Here’s my website, blue.butler.edu/~tfrankli

Looking for Artist/animator/musician
I looked it up (because I was curious too) and unfortunately you need to get permission from the original copyright holder if you want to do a remix. :/ The courts have decided that remixes are considered a “derivative work”, which is protected under copyright law. Of course, if the game was a small game it’s unlikely that anyone would notice. Now it’s up to you if you want to take that risk, but things would get really ugly if anyone from nintendo noticed. If they sued it would be a pretty clear-cut case. here’s the website that I found these answers at. http://www.futureproducers.com/forums/music-business-networking/music-industry-legal-marketing/anyone-know-what-legal-issues-regarding-remixes-311578/
If you wanted to get a musician to do a “soundalike” though, as long as the musician doesn’t copy too much of the original melody it’s ok. I’m pretty decent at doing that sort of thing. Here’s my website blue.butler.edu/~tfrankli I don’t have any “soundalikes” on their, but it’ll give you an idea of what quality work I do.
PM me on here or contact me on the email listed on the site if you want me to give this a shot.
