Ohh shit you just made me realize that I forgot Psycho-Pass. I’ll have to add that in somewhere.

2 of the shows on my list I watched a long time ago (including Eden of the East), so I’m unsure how much I would like it if I watched it again today. But I do recall the second Eden of the East movie making absolutely no fucking sense whatsoever. I really enjoyed the original series, though, and I actually treating the series and the two movies as two separate things.

Edit: and it got bumped out of my list by SAIKO PASSU

Psycho-Pass is easily 11th or 12th for me, next to Mawaru Penguindrum (probably). It was a pretty gritty show, although it had some pacing issues near the end. It was probably the first show to make me realize just how much I appreciated action/mystery/thriller seinen shows.
That reminds me, I need to find a decent shounen show to watch to balance out my list. Has anyone watched Shakugan no Shana? How’s the romance? No spoilers please.

Kingdom, why do you need to download Mushishi to watch it?

Also, it’s on Netflix if you have that.

I don’t need to, but I’d really like to watch it in hd to get the best experience. Also, Mushishi is not on Netflix anymore. I regret not watching it when it was, though.

You can watch it in streamed HD, too, on kissanime.

Whoa, thanks. Unfortunately it does buffer occasionally when I play it in HD, but I’ll definitely be using this site a lot for other series.

Heh@ 1-3. Your list is pretty hipster. Now, where is LoGH???
That’s a pretty good list you have there. Although, I am a little surprised at Eden of the East being top 10. Although, that may be me speaking out of bitterness from the two sequel movies.

No taste? I’ve seen all of those except ef- a tale of memories but I must say those are all great ones! (Though I wouldn’t put Chuunibyou in top 10)

Heh, me neither. That show just kind of clicked for me.

And ef is really good. One of the best romance animes by far.

Man, I just realized that by combing anime season by season, I’m missing a lot of weird but good stuff out there. For instance, Shows like Humanity Has Declined, Kyousou Giga, and Mysterious Girlfriend X have caught my eye.

Speaking of niche, has anyone watched “Noein” before?

Kyousougiga was definitely a great one, what did you think about it? I really loved all the allusions to Alice in Wonderland, which reminded me of one of my favorite poems

Still she haunts me, phantomwise,
Alice moving under skies
Never seen by waking eyes

Okay, I finally watched it. That was… quite an experience. I really had no idea what was going on half the time, but it was very touching.

To be honest, neither did I lol. The second half, more specifically, was p muddled for me but I loved the first half.

Edit: it’s probably nonsensical on purpose though, seeing as Alice in Wonderland, which it’s based on, is the same way.

In my opinion, it just felt like too much content too fast made for some awkward transitions. Not only did the fantasy stuff in the second half go over my head, but sometimes the emotions of the characters switched so quickly that I was just thinking: “What’s up with Koto? What’s going on?”

It’s very stylistic, though. I love anime that tries to be different with class. Planning to watch The Eccentric Family at some point.

Oh man, so Akame ga Kill is finally over. What did you guys think? That second half really was kind of a mess.

The World God Only Knows (all 3 seasons). But it’s not the best.

I keep hearing that SAO is good. Is it?

It’s OK. The first half is much stronger than the second half. It was like the third anime I’ve ever watched, so I liked the romance in it a fair bit. The second season is rather unfortunate though.

What do you guys think about Log Horizon?

I enjoyed it more than SAO, but not by much. It was very dialogue-heavy, but I felt the dialogue wasn’t all that sophisticated. It was loads of fun though.

Just started watching Soul Eater. It’s a fun show, but its comedy feels really off for some reason.

Has anyone watched SKET Dance? If so, what did you think of it?

Aaaaand awesome. Second season of Higurashi shows a marked improvement over the first.

The repeated arcs was a little confusing at first, but I got used to it pretty quickly.

What really bothered me was the animation quality (although that’s pretty obvious) and the inherent stupidity of the characters. Not their insanity, but their idiocy at times. I suppose the script is to blame for that. I thought these things kind of ruined what could’ve been a really good mystery series.

Gonna switch gears now.

Just finished watching Higurashi. It was decent, but it wasn’t as good as everyone told me it was going to be.

Man, just finished Ergo Proxy. It was a decent anime, but having no background in philosophy whatsoever, the more I watched, the less I understood.

May I just read the visual novel?

Since I don’t play visual novels, I dunno, but I suppose you could, because I heard it’s good. IMO Steins;Gate is one of the best anime experiences out there, so I would personally do both if you like both, but if you’re crunched for time I would stick to the anime because I heard the full game is something like 30+ hours of content.

The OVA/Movie is all-original content, though.

make sure to watch the OVA and the movie, too. Necessary plot material, and equally good.

Oh, I haven’t watched Kyousougiga. I was remarking that it had seriously piqued my interest, though, and it’s a must-watch after I get through my month of anime that I planned.

Hipster or not, everyone should be watching Steins;Gate!

EDIT: No idea wtf is going on

Do you, mayhaps, have a list of the sad anime you’ve watched?

Popular sad/depressing anime that I’ve watched:
Anohana
ef series (esp. ef: a tale of melodies, the sequel)
Clannad (esp. After Story)
There’s not much else that I’ve watched. Some sad shows out there I heard aren’t that good (I’ve yet to watch Myself ; Yourself, Kimi ga Nozoru Eien, Saikano etc.). Nagi no Asukara and Steins;Gate also brought on the feels, to a lesser degree.

I try to edit, misclick, and now weird shit happens. Ahhhh.

Eureka Seven is pretty good, Aldnoah.Zero, I heard, is also fairly decent. Also the ones Reginleifx mentioned.
Almost done with Anohana. Minus that one awkward plot hole, it’s actually a very sad and touching anime. Gonna start Higashi no Eden next.

It looks like, 4 days ago, Tamako Love Story was finally released on BD/DVD. Being both a KyoAni fan and a romance fan, I am prepared to watch through all 12 episodes of the mind-numbing moe-hell that is Tamako Market just so I can watch this movie.

Sure, I do like the anime, but I just can’t enjoy it that much and it becomes very boring. Something for example Steins;Gate just did better.

Which ep. are you on? Because if you’re still early on, trust me. It gets better. Much better.
