Dungeon Defender level 9 guide, using the Evil Wizard
Here’s my alternative guide for dungeon defender, using the evil wizard.
For reference, my campaign bonuses at the start of the map were the 3 spike trap upgrades, the 3 bonuses leading up to strongest best fastest, and the 2 item upgrades after that.
Alright, here’s where to start

Pause the game and tell your minions to mine the above areas, and build the spike traps in the locations indicated, as well as the elemental lair. The beige area circled is where your avatar will stand. He will be able to hold off all the creeps on the left flank for a LONG time.

As soon as your peons have started mining the areas indicated, label the additional area above for mining. Also, as soon as possible, build another elemental lair.

When the flyers arrive, simply move your wizard to your castle. They shouldnt reach him, but if they do, he’ll kill them before they have a chance to do much. Then dispatch the rest of the creeps on the left.

Round 6 is a paladin, and the wizard won’t be able to kill him before he reaches the castle unless he stands in front of it and takes some damage. I managed to kill the paladin before he killed my wizard, but if you can’t quite manage it, feel free to build another elemental lair next to your castle.
Once the peons have done their work, tell them to mine the above area. It is essential that the beige area is mined as soon as possible.

Round 8 was a bunch of Rogues, and, like the paladin, i had to stand in front of the castle and take some damage to avoid losing some lives.
Tell the peons to mine the rest of the indicated area. Right now it doesnt really matter which bits are done first, its just for the extra gold. Remember, DO NOT build ANYTHING unless you need to, since the interest you get from the gold will be huge later on if you don’t.

Round 11 are your first group of flyers, and they might be a little tricky. Build a few chimera lairs, and possibly a centaur or two if you need to. Make sure your wizard does some damage, it makes it much easier.
By now you should have a lot of gold, so buy a few gold vaults next to your castle. Keep building a gold vault everytime you have 400+ gold until you have 8 around your castle.

By wave 16 your peons should have mined most of the area. Build a few Demon lairs in the areas indicated to make life easier for yourself. Again, make sure your wizard is attacking the left flank! If you’re having trouble, feel free to build a few more demon lairs if you need to.

Wave 21 are flyers again. Move your wizard down to the location shown, he should be able to handle those. If he can’t, move him back and let the chimeras do their work while he attacks from a distance. The demons and chimeras you have set up will take care of the flyers from the right.

Build an elemental in the area shown to the left.
Here, the route the enemy takes is shown in teal. The purple areas are where you should build demon lairs, but only do this if you leak a few people, because the interest is huge if you don’t spend anything.

Round 30 is the last group of flyers. Move your wizard down to the area shown, he should be able to handle them with the items he should have epuipped. The demons will take care of the left wave. Check the interest – not bad, huh?

The above setup lasted until wave 34, where i had 25000+ gold, so i built a load of demon lairs with academies to match.

Here’s the last round. He’s tough and you’ll need to stall him in order for the demons to get enough damage in to kill him, so spam elementals down his route to stop him. Build a few gyms to boost their HP if you like.

For reference, here’s how far my champions got, and the gold i had left at the end.
