Fwiw, I’m not sure why people think Bairs would be going anywhere…much less disbanding.

Yes, with the diminishing player base, we’ve consolidated somewhat and taken steps to strengthen our guilds…but we are still six active guilds strong (plus a retirement guild or two)…still the largest community in TU if I’m not mistaken.

So, regardless of whatever hearsay is floating around…Bairs are here to stay.

Suggestions for improvement:
1. Matchmaking improvements – this is obviously an ongoing process, but at the end of the war, you should never be ranked behind a guild you’ve handily beaten 4 times. Without an understanding of how you run your MM, it’s hard to offer more specific advice, however one possible solution could be a different system of points/ranking where you climb and fall more slowly, rather than jumping up and down in huge swings as we saw in this war.

2. Repeat matches – spread the repeat matches further apart. Our guild was paired with DT/Prophecy back to back 3 times, and prophecy (and Legacy Diamond) 4 times total. While we never matched other guilds in the top 20, such as Baircubs. By further restricting rematches, you create a more diverse opponent pool and more stable rankings.

3. Energy/Strategy – this format favors brute strength, which is fine for a while, but 9 days of predictable matches does become tedious. I would propose keeping the 4 hour or even 6 hour matches, but having a more flexible energy cap to reinvest some strategy into the game. An example may be you receive a fixed 10 (or 15) energy per battle, but have a CAP of 25. This means a guild could be stronger or weaker each time you fight them, which may improve players response to the game. It could also allow some strategy regarding dual tower takedown, while still allowing a more relaxed play style than previous wars.

4. Repeat players – restrict fights within a battle to disallow rematches, or limit to 2 at the most. Again…variety=engagement.

5. Multiple BGE or no BGE at all – 9 days is a long time to suffer with a deck not suited to a BGE, and the game is not conducive to quick deck changes.

6. Structures – a wider variety of effective offense/defense guild structures is another way to add variety and challenge to the game.

7. Matching time: Reduce matchmaking time – several people fell asleep waiting for MM timeframe. I understand this was a server test, but thought it was worth mentioning.

Interesting –
Regarding matchmaking changes – the previous format allowed you to make progress in a different zone if you were outclassed in the zones you were attacking, giving advantage to strategic thinking and guild cohesion.

Both this and the war now favor deck strength over strategy. I feel like the previous matchmaking style should be kept to preserve this as a different style of event, as conquest was originally designed to be a more strategy minded approach. This seems more important now that wars have a less strategic aspect under the new proposed changes (which is fine).

We all (350 of us Bairs) sincerely hope you nerf the personal point requirements. I would suggest around 4000 for top 5 as reasonable +/-, but I trust you to make it fair.

Increasing the stamina cap further isnt really feasible either imo. The fights are almost always auto’d anyway, and more attacks just take more time clicking auto skip. The problem is that the PvP system isnt even remotely engaging for endgame players.

The devs are aware and have noted the flaw several times in other posts. We can just hope they continue to improve and expand on the quest system to continue leveling the playing field, though we havent seen a timeline on this.
