So you went from ‘Kreds’ > ‘Monkey Money’ > ‘Purchase’ and the problem is from Monkey Money to the item purchased? If that’s the case, it sounds like Kongregate has nothing to do with it. You’ll have to contact the developer.

You disagree, and that’s fine, but you haven’t really given any new points to discuss. I’m not going to argue with you about the motives of each user, because you seem to know all about that. Think of Kongregate as one big MMO video game. Like most other MMOs, there’s a leaderboard and in-game profiles. You wouldn’t add the option to hide their rankings when that’s the point of the game, would you?

I’m not saying any sort of profile alteration would be bad. I just think the Kong stats should always be visible. I think people would actually like being able to do something like reorganizing their profile rather than removing Kong stats (e.g., Level, badge number, latest badge, etc.)

I agree with the first part of that statement, however you misunderstood.

• Casual badge-getters are competitive. They’re competitive in the sense that they earn badges to level up.
  • Leveling up means they’re compared with all the other uses. It’s indirect competition. There’s a hidden satisfaction of having a higher level than someone, no matter what the site or game. It’s same the appeal people get from MMORPGs.
• Even people that only use Kongregate as a chatting website (Which I never understood why. It’s a gaming site.) are competitive. They compete for social acceptance and popularity. E.g., forum post count, collabs count, followers/fans, etc.

Also, who cares if it turns into MySpace, it’s already turned into facebook.

Everyone cares. MySpace is an HTML profile dump-zone. Kongregate isn’t Facebook. There’s practically nothing the same between them. The only thing I can think of that is even remotely similar, is the “likes” peoples’ profiles and larger avatars. I personally like the new layout. People are just resistant to change.

Sounds like sticky keys. Do you use Internet Explorer?

Edit: I’ll be leaving later today, and IE is the most common browser of sticky keys; so I’ll go ahead and tell you step-by-step how to fix it!
There’s several ways, the first way being:

1. Go to ‘Tools’
2. Next, go to ‘Internet Options’
3. Then ‘Security Tab’
4. Uncheck protected mode.

And if you don’t feel safe clicking it, you can add Kongregate to your trusted sites and still have protected mode on.

5. Click sites
6. Uncheck require server
7. Click add, then add www.kongregate.com
   • Make sure you have unchecked protected mode for this entry. This will disable it only for Kongregate.

You’re only allowed to have this one little corner off to the left, and the remainder of the profile page is just a big showcase of all your little achievements and statistics that nobody gives two shits about!

A lot of people care about the achievements. It’s fun competition, which is why I don’t think you should be able to chose whether or not you have whichever stats shown. Just because there’s only a handful (compared to the people that actually play games) of people that don’t want to play games, doesn’t mean we should compensate for them being unhappy about being “shown-up” or feeling little. Every stat on everyones’ profile should be the same.

Customization is fine. If you keep added ways to customize your profile, it’ll eventually turn into MySpace.

Good! That’s what you need! Choose your profile and press “don’t ask at startup.”

I just tried this out— It works fine! I think you’re misinterpreting it.

So you have your favorites’ list. There are some games randomly in the list called ‘game spotlights.’ You cannot remove these. These are basically little advertisements.

Second, your favorites are ordered by when you added them. The side panel does not organize your favorites in genre or what it says. It is simply a panel of shortcuts to view the top rated, zombie, recently popular, etc.

My first initial thought is that your flash player is running in safe mode. In a nutshell, meaning some games work, some games don’t. Could you explain more of what happens? “won’t load” is very vague. Is there any error screen that comes up? Does the game freeze? White screen? Black screen?

Edit: Or, if you’re too lazy (like me) to answer those, follow this list to make sure safe mode is off.

1. Exit Firefox
2. Click Start > Run
3. Type the following then press ‘Enter’: firefox.exe -p
4. Click Continue in Safe Mode

Try that out! If the problem still persists, say so! =)

Topic: Technical Support / Weird Noise When Playing Flash Games

It sounds like there’s a short in the wiring of your speakers rather than a problem with your flash player. If it’s not a short, it’s going to be something putting pressure on the chords, or the plugs not in all the way.

• Make sure your speakers are plugged in all the way.
• Make sure there are not any heavy objects laying on top of the wire (e.g., your chair, printer, lamp, etc.)

If you’ve checked all of those, and you’re fairly certain it’s your flash player… answer:

• What OS do you run?
• What browser do you use?
• Is this problem only on this used browser?

The game might just be using too much CPU to run smoothly. Old computers or budget computers might not be able to handle some flash games. If this is the reason, then there’s nothing you can do besides upgrade your computer. (E.g., I can’t run any Unity-intensive games because when I do it gets laggy as hell. Nothing I can do to fix that, unless I get a better computer.)

Let’s hope it’s not that!

A Kongregate team for what? There’s already groups and such on Facebook, WhatPulse, etc..

Would it be for the Olympics? A backyard basketball team? Street hockey team? A chess club? A bird-watching club? A dolphin observing team? A criminal justice force? An elephant-riding group? Or an IT group? A waffle-loving team? A group of people that watch the sky while making strange noises with our mouths? A Navy SEALs squad? A dance club? A fight club? An NFL football team? Become the Justice League?

First, you need to make sure you have hidden folders ‘on.’ To do this, go to ‘folder settings’ and make sure the “show hidden folders” is check-marked.
Your saves from Kongregate are stored as .swf files in your computer. ‘Search’ for the folder called “chat.kongregate.com” or for “0014” or “4419.” And there you will see all the saves your computer has from Kongregate!

I’ve taken part in MC Huger Games a lot of times, and they’re really fun! From the screenshot you’ve provided, this is the old/first Hunger Games map. It’s a little out-dated, as there’s a bunch of newer, better, maps! There’s a Hunger Games 2 map now that’s themed around an abandoned city. It’s pretty awesome!

So basically why I’m posting, is your link in the first post for the server is wrong. You need to take off the “kongragate.com/forums/general_gaming” part and just put “www.http://mchgserver.com/”

Despite not being in the suggestion thread… I like this idea! I think it’s a great little idea. In my opinion, it’s little features like that that make the site better!

I can think of a lot of possible reasons why you’re not connecting to chat. So to save me from writing down every problem that could be wrong and a solution, let’s narrow it down! Check or answer these things out!

- Sounds weird, but make sure your computer’s time and date are correct. It can foil with Kongregate’s certificate and trick FireFox into thinking it’s expired.
- Do you have any ad blockers, proxies, etc.?
- Is it only on Firefox?

Edit: If you’re technical and you know how, check and make sure ports 5222 and 5229 are open to traffic.

Or you can skip the questions and try out some solutions!

1) Is your flash player in protected mode? If it is, http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1018071?tstart=0 for instructions how to take it off protected mode.
2) Try reinstalling flash player. Reinstalling it might hammer-out any problems!
3) Is it only on Firefox? Try it out on IE. If it is only on Firefox, reinstall Firefox. There’s most likely a little error that’ll fix upon reinstallation.

Let me know if you did all of these and your chat is still not working!
