Topic: Kongregate / [New Feature] Introducing Kongpanions!

Looks like they changed the badge of the day, today, due to the issues. I guess I got another badge of the day, although it forgot that I earned the kids vs ice cream one in the progress for the shiny kongpanion, so I had to get the second one too just to be sure that it’s going to count for the crown.

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Steam Defense] Enemy hero abilities/Combat Regen (or the lack of it)

Yeah, I’m gonna have to bring this up: how can smoke grenades be used without hilariously backfiring on you? In addition, do they even cover against most of the dryan special attacks? So far, all it really seems to do is make the enemy pass right by you to hit your buildings, which is significantly more detrimental than tanking the damage and/or forcing the AI to cast earlier so that they don’t just rush past you and target your buildings.

note: health regen and armor is probably the most significant for survivability, but i managed to run at least halfway through the human campaign with armor equipped and hardly any of the other stats

ofc, by the time you hit the point in the campaign where it stops working, you probably already have the full set of abilities, so you can grind pretty fast and just sell all of the equipment drops (there’s only four items which you technically need to have, and they’re not exactly common so you won’t really miss those drops)

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Steam Defense] Airship sucks. :(

Yeah, it’s specifically for heavy units, buildings, and fliers, but it won’t stop firing until they’re dead. However, I would rate them overall inferior to the opposing faction’s birds and beasts combo. The bird lighting hits several targets in a row, the beasts are just freaking impossible to knockback, and if you ever manage to stack a bunch of birds, there are ZERO (lemme repeat that, ZERO) units that can hit entire aerial stacks on the human side. A stack of fliers is nigh impossible to kill already, and once the heavy units come in, all of the antiflying units focus ON THE HEAVY UNITS, the beefy as hell guys that don’t even give a fuck, over the flying stack causing rapid, multiple target damage, while the heavy units just punch the hell out of anything that’s still alive. The fliers are basically like faster, harder to hit artillery units that won’t get hit no matter what when there are heavy units in front of them (as opposed to ground based artillery which can be easily destroyed by a light breeze cast by the opposing champion’s spell which passes through as many units as it wants to), while the comparable flying bomber units on the human side do not stack up as easily due to their attack behavior and are really vulnerable to all of the opposing champion spells except for the earthquake, which will pretty much destroy all tanks and artillery. Overall, not really worth the cost considering that the tanks that they need for blocking ground units are hardly any kind of protection at all from the deadly flier/heavy combo.

For the sake of survival, flying units should PRIORITIZE all other flying units in the area.

that might hold up if the inventory space wasn’t a paid feature

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Steam Defense] Steam tower stops working

Seems to work for now. If anybody else wants to run through it more times, the bug was triggered by firing, running, and running while firing while near the object.

Also, on an unrelated note, the node wasn’t actually bugged, it was just only able to build the offensive tower types. However, there is zero indication as to whether or not a node can be built upon until you destroy it, and offensive only nodes do not indicate anything different from resource nodes or enemy only nodes, and will not show anything at all if you haven’t unlocked either building type, which means that you just kind of have to guess what to do up until that point.

I don’t really know why you did this (besides discouraging frequent attempts at riskier upgrades, which should really just be put in the upgrade cost, not the repair cost), but either way, most equipment is just not worth actually using considering how expensive it is to use compared to the actual benefit, which is really, really minimal for most items.

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Steam Defense] Steam tower stops working

During the “Counterattack” mission, the steam tower frequently gets stuck in the steam animation and ceases to cause any damage to anything afterwards, which allows the enemy to just walk past or destroy it. Furthermore, that spot cannot be rebuilt upon, which makes no sense.

While we’re adding to the features pile, shouldn’t there be some sort of maximum lives indicator to show if it’s stopped regenerating?

I’ve been fiddling with my store arrangement, and I can’t really find a great strategy so far, seeing as the tier upgrades keep messing with my arrangement. Has anybody found a satisfactory compromise yet?

Wait, why is spending ten bucks on the game equivalent to getting the hard badge? The hard badge wasn’t that hard to begin with…

Topic: The Last Stand: Dead Zone / Easy fix to help PVP

While you would think it would cause a disadvantage, keep in mind that the attacker already gets to see the action live, so it’s like, they’re learning too.

Secondly, smoke grenades are coming, which means that defenders will be at a huge disadvantage because the range bonuses the towers grant don’t really mean anything when you basically have a portable wall that you can throw anywhere you want to cover your advance and allow heavy units to get in range to use suppressing fire. It will be more difficult to understand where the holes in your defenses are once that gets implemented.

If the tutorial convenience store has no zombie spawn points and one entrance, wouldn’t it have been better to use that as your safehouse instead of the small warehouse with three doors and enormous machinery taking up a third of the room?

Topic: The Last Stand: Dead Zone / [Suggestion] Highlight loot spots by pressing a key or show the total amount of loot spots in the area

that being said, sometimes the spot ends up behind a tree or wall, and the spots vary even in the same layout due to randomization, so you end up scraping over every pixel anyway

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [The Grinns Tale] Possible Solution to to many boxes, not enough keys?

That being said, there is no feeling of specialness after the hundredth or so box dropping, and with keys costing as much as they do now (seriously, they should be 1 pramin for something that you don’t even know what is inside!), it’s becoming more like the salesman who doesn’t stop asking no matter how much you don’t care.

In addition to that, we come back to the fact that nobody gets to see what other people’s outfits look like in the first place, which loses a crucial element of TF2’s community supported hat based community.

Topic: Mystic Guardians / Feedback/Suggestions

The mooky/cubby thing is generally acceptable when there’s more to choose from, but right now, the shallow pool means that you’re stuck with mediocrity until then…

As for the move buying thing, YOU CAN ALREADY DO THAT

Agree with the level 20 gebble quest being rather specific.

Flame Lizzy is a Special Attack/Defense oriented guardian.

Flame Lizzy’s learned attacks so far:

- Swipe
- Ember
- Flare
- Chomp
- Flame Strike
- Quick Attack

The path of development is pretty much identical to mozzy.

Topic: Mystic Guardians / kwndnl's Mystic Guardians FAQ [v.1.2 Now with Report Card!]

I think a more detailed look at elements would be helpful:

Normal

- 150% damage against Air
- 50% damage against Rock

Fire

- 200% damage against Nature
- 25% damage against Water

Water

- 200% damage versus Fire
- 150% damage versus Rock
- 25% damage versus Nature

Nature

- 200% damage versus Water
- 25% damage versus Fire

Rock

- 150% damage versus Normal
- 50% damage versus Water

Air

- Generally has high power abilities
- 50% damage versus Normal

This is why certain effective or not effective hits carry more or less punch than others.
