In my opinion, the author did an amazing job here. The game runs smoothly even on very old PC, it has a workable fullscreen mode which allows you to see cards better. It autosaves all your games, so you can for example leave the campaign any time and join multi. All of this shows how thoughtful and skilled the developer is. For the failure I blame Kongregate.
It spams the users with their disgusting facebook style pseudogames and then they become hostile towards any game with premium content even though the basic version is great. Just compare this game to Mytheria or Necronomicon. Both offer similarly low card pools, short campaigns and no multiplayer. However, they have a much higher score because there are no extra features in them?

I do agree that it is too limiting if played in Core itself. If the first two packs were unlocked for free, giving a total of 4 campaigns and a reasonable card pool, it might get a higher score.

You underestimate the power of small kids from Kongregate. They will vote down everything with premium content without any consideration for the quality of the game. Because of them, the game never reached broader audience.

Ironically, if there was simply 1 pack and 1 campaign, the game would probably be deemed “good, but to short” and had a score of about 4.
It is a real disgrace that pathetic card games like Tyrant have the top score while this one suffers simply because the author added something more for a small price. In fact, the bonus packs do not add but multiply the value of the game, because of the vastly increasing possibilities of setting up a board. And you don’t even have to own the packs to enjoy them. You can simply ask someone who does to set up a multiplayer game with them.

There is no point in optional fights in a energy game, you will end up skipping them 100% of the time. And I personally like the short zones. I got fed up with fighting 100 Orocs in a row.

Your immortal free eternity may seem powerful, but comparing to:
2 fractals, pest, vampire
fractal, rol, hope
pharaoh, 3 shards of readiness
etc.

I am not impressed ;)

1) I did not notice that shields work incorrectly? Are you sure they won’t work?

2) Torment not dropping shield is a blessing in pvp. If you play 3 defensive cards in one turn, opponent will have a little bit harder time to finish you off with his 20 Torments in a row. I see this as a big plus.

3) Assassin with his low absorb is the only class that has trouble in zone 1, all others can beat it with 100% winrate without any problems.
Assassin used to be a great choice for middle game (lvl 50-100) brawls thanks to Planned Assault, but now with easily obtainable Prongs, you can easily deal lots of damage to the bosses without worrying much about their absorb.
Late game stats don’t matter so much (heavenly aura, powerful buffs, etc) and class specific cards come into voice. Pyre and Druid have Lena, Sentinel has Flower of Chivalry. Assassin? Crimson Blindfold is kind of nice, but comparing to the other choices…

Summing up, Assassin is not OP.

Also. I would try to get 1 Kobold Enhancer and 5 Immovable Objects (not sure if they are not draft only though). Also 5 Hard to Kill.
All of the above are crafts for Tophat and Vortex Bulwark. Both amazing pieces of equipment.

How is it a bad mix? It’s basically the same as 2 GHP but you get less chance of cycle breaking. I agree that 2 Nectars are better than mixes though.

Ah. In that case, you are doing the wrong brawls. Craft materials from zone 1 to zone 4 drop on quests as well, so they are under the quest section.
Only z5, z6 and clan brawls give brawl unique materials,which are listed under the brawl section.

Pages – zone 5 normal/hard brawls.
Edicts – zone 5 nightmare brawls
Arrows – zone 6 normal/hard brawls
Halos – zone 6 nightmare brawls
Wizard hats – Clan brawls
Horns – Clan brawls
Conchs – Clan brawls

“Like potions, if a player would draw a Talisman, it is shuffled back into the player’s deck and they draw a new card instead.”

From the rules. This is basically how it would look if you played with a real deck, not virtual cards. The devs simply skipped us some animations.

Whenever you draw a potion or talisman, you put it back to your deck and reshuffle it. It’s a basic rule not “some reason”.
