Would love a section with explanation of stats, a section with different builds for each class.
Would love some more information from the dev’s but they seem to be on a vacation.

Why don’t you contribute?

Meh, it’s a tournament, where would gangs even make sense? I guess there are gangs in mission mode, but what if there were like…gangs in the sense that you could join factions?

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Survival of the Fittest] Where are you devs?

No word from the devs since the 14th. What is going on? Have they abandoned their game, or is a big update coming?

I have not seen a single post in the bug forum from any devs. Kind of sad that this game seems to be dying out without their support, I actually enjoyed the game the first 2 weeks. Now this whole elite package thing and the increase cost of gear..something just doesn’t seem right.

Also i think i saw someone post this somewhere but the cooldown times are different on computers that are lagging and ones that aren’t. I tried an old computer I had and compared to the one I normally used, after using a skill the cooldowns for the skill had already reset on the laggy computer while on the one that didn’t lag, the skill would still have 2 or 3 seconds for the skill to be used. I’ve only tried this on bots and I don’t know if it works on other players.

Nope, that is correct, and has been working that way since the game was released. People with laggy computers get cool downs that work more in their favor. A discussion was brought up about this, though to actually change the system at this point would probably make the game just have to start over from the beginning.

@Ablogqwer, Yea, cat talents have needed a lot of work since the start, and thankfully some of them changed. Maybe just keep suggesting new talents and we will see some change. Also Unbalancing block actually casts something much like a hit buff and debuff from what i’ve seen.

^This defies a good portion of the point of competitive games. If I wanted to do something in which you having more money made you better, I would get back to pretty much anything outside. While I’m sitting in front of my computer, in competitive environment, I don’t want your greater monetary resources to make you superior. I want your invested time, energy, and skill to make a difference.

It’s kind of a goofy way to stop people from playing all day if you can just ignore it buy paying cash monies. It’s a way to milk players for money, at the direct cost of upsetting the already precarious balance of this competitive game.

You do realize there is an endurance item that does not cost real money, just in game Notes?

Yes you can make the pay to win argument for this game, but not in the case of endurance, and on that saaaame note, there are so many facebook games with microtransactions that could be considered competitive, and a fair bit of free to play games, where people play competitively, have microtransactions. To top that all off, you don’t have to spend a single dollar on this game to get the best gear. You can save up your coins from leveling and doing achievements of all sorts.

I can play all day (not that I have for a while), only because I have 3 characters, which means while I wait for one endurance bar to recharge, I can play another. You can do this without spending any cash. 20 coins from leveling is a simple thing, especially because you get so many free ones from tutorial and missions.

It increases your damage. What about it do you not get? There is a % chance that the effect will occur, in which all of your damage is increased by a % for a set time.

Really, who considers Cripple to be the better of the 2 skills? Sorry but that’s just flat out incorrect. Also the fact that you can stack their effects with those talents is pretty strong, maybe you need to reevaluate your perspective.

Energy systems are frankly, quite stupid and are just a marketing trick. How comes with an energy system, there always are microtransactions to recharge it? Why do you think people get more plays with an energy system? It forces you to check back several times a day, giving more views, and thus more ad revenue.

That would be great, if you did not get full energy when you leveled up. It is just a system to keep people from playing all day long, and honestly if you have a second fighter spot, you can play pretty close to non stop. Nice try but people need to stop complaining about the current system. When the game released it was A LOT slower, so please stop complaining and just enjoy the game.

How about, you add more description to your “idea”?

I personally think it’s a terrible idea with how the game is currently balanced, so you don’t have this level 80’s support.

Please do not make the chars share gear slots its to limited for 3 chars even if you spend 50coins to get 5 extra slots, oh and trying to buy a item when slots are full scares the server away(so the message says)

Man, the thing is, it’s not just the strength stats. It is the attacks themselves that need scaling, and I know I told you this exact same thing before in the forums. Changing the strength only helps the players who stack it, which really does not help at all, but changing how the damage scales as you level would help everyone.

Also as for sharing gear slots, how else will you give your gear to your lower level fighter? WE NEED THAT GEAR SHARING. sorry but I have to veto that complaint right away. Sell old crap, or equip all your characters, each character is an additional 3 slots to put things in. Be resourceful, not frivolous and wasteful.

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Survival of the Fittest] Devs, can you explain the logic on the price increases?

I am in agreement with Solsund on this point and I personally find the reasoning behind the price increase was more or less a frivolous excuse.

If you wanted to raise the price and come out and say it, then sure. It would be a slap in the face to those of us who played since launch and were ok with the prices and the system of which we could gain more, but it would be understandable as those who did pay kreds would probably be at more of an advantage, though to what end I can’t say. Now it seems you either have to pay kreds or spend a months time leveling to get 1 level 80 rare, and let me tell you I can not see myself even remotely thinking of buying the level 80 rares at their current value. In fact those who do pay kreds are possibly taking off many many days of grinding possibly weeks, so it could be argued the advantage is even larger.

Sure, are those of us who leveled up when the game launched and purchased the rares at their lowest price the “luckiest”? Yeah, we are, I guess I should be thankful for enjoying your game when it was less a grind and more of a challenge. Now I want to level a second character to 80, but I am hesitant because I do not know where this game will be going, and so far I am not seeing a positive outlook. I can hope for the best as I have invested my time and money into this game, but as I have seen games in the past fall from glory, I’m not going to bet any more money on it unless I can get a handle on what is going on.

So, same question as above

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Survival of the Fittest] Item list topic (on going)

Actually Sol and I (mostly Sol really) are working on a full item list, if you can hold your horses. He is rather busy, and I probably have enough time to compile the list of 80 items for now.

Will get a more informed list as I level a second character. Try to be patient, I think a wiki is also being created.

As Masteraion said, this is not the only game of it’s kind on Kong, but just to be perfectly clear, from what rumors I have heard, it already resides on facebook. If you have any qualms with the game, then by alllll means, do not play it. Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Survival of the Fittest] Explanation of stats

Strength modifies your damage. Currently I am not privy to the ratio at which a number of strength increases 1 damage by, but I believe it is a number between 6 and 10.

Speed lowers your charge time, that is to say your attacks land quicker. The ratio again, is a mystery to me as we do not know the base charge times and can not figure out a formula, but it also seems to be close to ~8 for an increase of .01 which does not seem like much, but in later levels adds up. Devs have mentioned speed does not scale as well.

Vitality increases your max HP, very simple.

Yes, you first roll to hit, though every class currently has talents to increase their hit past 95%. Hit and dodge are separate.

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Survival of the Fittest] Seems a little unbalanced

@gamer, yes yes there is. When people make stupid comments on the internet, like a superhero I fly there and right the wrongs, and as I seem to recall you talking smack the other day in the Kong chat, I will not be taking any advice from a hypocrite such as yourself.

Originally posted by devil1d:

not to mention cat’s intercept combines with 3x haste would pretty much block out all attempts to deal damage from the bears part

What you are suggesting would be that bear’s be more powerful, but in their current state they are actually balanced for late game. The devs spoke on this issue, and the biggest problem is that if they tweak bears one way they become too strong too quickly, and the other way they feel way too weak.

Haste cat’s are not unbeatable, in fact haste is not even a good ability till later in levels because it works out better with higher speed. If a lower level player is taking haste, they are punishing themselves for not having a 4th ability as I see it.

Diversion, not intercept, is on a 18 second cool down, longer then both rex and bear’s stuns. Want to know how to win as a bear? Reach level 15 so you have your stun, lockjaw so that your opponents speed is FAR less then yours, and stop whining because you are terrible at this game. Believe me when I say they are fine.

So…you are level 80 right? I mean, because that is the only way you could truly know for certain what seems OP and UP, so you must be level 80, who am I kidding, of course! That explains it! All games are based around low level play and not for max level play, jeeze, silly me.
