Topic: General Gaming / The Slightly Unofficial Guide To Caravaneers

You know, Haven’t seen this forum thread in about 2-3 years and it has been reduced to a wall of text. That makes me sad….wasn’t always like that. I’ll try and get around to fixing this thing up…hopefully.

The Point of the Gunner was to have that kind of build the focuses on both survivability and the ability to use heavy weapons. In the long run a 7 agility and a 7 accuracy may have been more prudent, given the need for . But the Gunner is the kind of guy who would have Military armor, and RPG-7 and a few rockets, with whatever weight left over for Grenades.

If your character has a Subpar AP, Subpar Strength and Subpar Accuracy, do what I do. Give him a sniper rifle. The 100 Accuracy bonus turns him in a damage wielding beast at medium distances, although he has to reload more often than with other weapons. The weight of the gun should allow for a Medium Bulltproof vest, if military armor proves to be too much. You wont need more than 100 Rounds for each Mercenary as long as you distribue ammo often, so you should have space for Grenades for that rainy day.

To answer your question about the M4, Id say with an accuracy of 70, a distance of 25-30m with aimed shots should provide consistent accuracy. Try to avoid pushing the distance more until he’s leveled.

Don’t forget to train your characters either. Rotate who kills people in battles you know you’ll win, or in battles with small numbers of enemies. For the ones who aren’t killing, have them move around the field to build up their AP.

@ Joe:

He Has 40 Hp. Put him in the back if it’s such a problem, or give him a better weapon and armor. an M4 is a very light and accurate assault rifle which can satisfy both farther range shooting and freeing up space for heavier armor. Also, remember tactics; you dont want to get close to them cause then they can fire multiple rounds with reasonable accuracy. Aimed Shots and take cover or fall back.

I think that the AI also targets either the closest Ally or the weakest (The former is much more likely from my experience) so you want to take that into account.

@Templest

Well if you Killed Caravan X before you got the mission, I dont think it’s likely it’ll respawn. FIrst Check back with Shepperd if he advances the plot. If not check the north sector in the Qubba – Abu Kirdyk – Sekir Bashka (I’m surprised I remember all the names of these towns, havent played this game in months) and see if it Respawns. If none of this works, well, you may have to restart.

Which leads to me to my next point: USE ALL FIVE OF YOUR SAVE SLOTS! Every time before you start a new mission, especially one where you can potentially fail, save! And save in a second slot as you progress in that one mission in case it goes belly up on you, at which case you can revert back to the first save you made.

Are you fighting the Robbers or the Desert Patrol, Joe?

If you’re fighting the D.P, that’s bound to happen. you’re very outnumbered against those who are nearly as trained as yourself with weapons somewhat at par with yours.

If you’re fighting robbers, then I have no idea. I dont recall ever seeing grenadiers at that point in the game. Dont get too close to shotgun enemies, and take out the riflemen as soon as you can. you should have no problem then. Don’t forget armor.

Topic: Kongregate / "loot challenges"

What if your points played a part in your percent chance in that grand challenge. Possibly 1 additional entry for every 2000 points. It wouldn’t have to be exectly that but I feel that Kongregate should find a way to incorporate points into prizes, either kongai, this, or something else if they can find it.If you did this my other idea would be that 1 entry (down to 1) would be taken away every time you win, to try to even out the prizes.

You do realize by doing this would mean that Jayisgames would win EVERY loot challenge ever concieved with its 140,000+ some odd points.

The points were originally intended to be used to redeem for prizes (which probably will be implemented about 3 weeks before a zombie invasion, but I’m okay with that).

Me? I think that Kongregate ran out of R1 cards to give out as rewards for challenges.

My first guess would’ve been Perfect Dark. WHich surprised the crap out of me when the sequel got as terrible ratings as it got. I knew they should’nt have given her red hair….

But they (Rare) were also the makers of Jet Force Gemini, Banjo-Kazooie, and The Conker games.

Every town makes the same stuff. All need the same goods. All of these are constant in every game.

HOW MUCH of these goods, and WHEN they need these goods, vary from game to game though. There are 3 main points of randomization that differentiate these games economies’:

1: NPC Caravans. these caravans which move at a sluggish pace are what provide the goods to all the towns all over. If these caravans get destroyed by robbers, they cannot provide the goods, and thus the supply will decrease, prices rise, etc.

2: Economic Expansion. Every now and then in the news, you may read an article about a town expanding their farming operation or pharmaceuticals, etc. This means a town will make more of a certain product over a certain month, and will also mean that the demand for the good that makes that product will rise. I’m finding that these expansions vary from game to game.

3: What you do. Every time you trade goods, buying or selling, you change the prices of goods. If you supply a town of a good which it has run dry (providing a town who makes textiles with cotton, for example) Then you encourage the production of a product and future caravans can trade that good and it can move around to world to be consumed or made into other things.

In short, yes and no. Caravaneers’ Economy has several constants which never change. What you do and what the game does also tilt the balance between supply and demand.

Topic: General Gaming / PUNK O MATIC SONG CONTEST!!!!

You know, after spending a bit of time on the official Punk-o-matic site, I had a feeling that this debate, 47 some-odd pages into the POM thread.

Clusters against Spacers.

Clusters: Pretty Much 2021’s entry, lots of numbers together. Spacers would be Pyron’s song to an extent. I never wanted to ever start or begin a contest because ultimately POM has been divided between these two schools of thought.

Clusters don’t like Spacers cause they feel like their songs are unoriginal and stuff they heard before. Spacers dont like Clusters cause they feel like their songs become confusing and lound when there’s just a constant barrage of the same measure or two over and over again.

It may also be because if you use POM on a flash program the lag induced from Clusters of numbers throws off the timing and rhythm.

Though I have dozens to choose from, it feels like this contest wouldn’t like my work anyway.

I once again say hello to this thread, after who knows how many pages of other users' songs. To be brutally honest, I dont often listen to other peoples' songs. No real specific reason why, actually. But to those who want their songs judged, I can't give you a rating, nor advice. Everyone's taste in music is different, even for something as focused as this Flash. For those who complain about the music breaking off and thus don't like "cuts" between riffs, by best suggestion is to download the Program itself on the hard drive. It's quite easy to find on Evil-dog's website. Also turn off the spotlights...not whollynecessary and may keep everything running smoothly without riffs bleeding too much into one another. As for the ones who want their songs judged, I'm going to give you a short checklist of things you should and should not do with a song to give you an idea. If your song... +Uses Lead or Rhythm Guitar riffs by themselves for extended periods of time (relative to the lengths of the songs, mind you), +Uses a RG 6 or an LG 9 (Scratch/fret down) things more often than you should, +Doesn't cut any riff throughout the song (or very rarely) +Feels like something I heard before, Then it's probably going to be something I will not like. If your song, +Uses a lot of RG 4s and 9s, +Mixes and Matches Riffs in general to try something slightly different, Then it may probably be something I will like...or at least tolerate. But I digress, here are two more songs that I wrote out of a need to. Tried for something different in the mood for those who listen to my stuff intently.

Youc an actually do the floating gun thing with any automatic weapon as long as you have the ammo to pull it off and the gun has a strong enough recoil.

It actually does have practical use, like shooting enemies just above you on a staircase.

Impressed by that last one, Arian.

Usually, empty parts people compose tend to come off, well, empty…but more in a sense of meaningless rather than sound. Not like what I heard here.

Then again, it’s really hard to mess up anything when a Rhythm Guitarist plays 9. :P

Keep it up. 7.6/10

Alright...I' have no idea if this will work. But I've been trying to do a two part song. Partially to see if I can, partially to see if it will come off any good, and partially to see if you like it. It's up to you to decide, but if you can, try to play one part after another to get the desired effect. AND, because its a page ending in 7, it's time for a myriad of songs slapped together in somewhere between five and five thousand minutes in order to achieve greatness. Or Mediocrity. You Decide.
