Topic: Reactor idle / City. 1 gwp -> 2 gen. GWP get expensive

can you show your design?

I think something like 3:1:3 (is it the right order? gen:cell:water) could work good for me

Topic: Reactor idle / When is the third Research Center unlocked?

When you unlock a new map do research on it for a while. You can build alot more research centers. So the upgrades are much more worth it. Unlock what you need for this map and then start building on it.

This worked pretty good for me until SHC (not allowed to research there). So I do the same as everyone now and research on the smaller maps. And yes that is pretty slow.

Topic: Reactor idle / Ignored water completely, i should prolly start using it?

On City I have Gen effectivness and Gen max Water upgrades around the same cost.
A gen itself can convert 35 million heat. With the water aditional 207 million!

So water is worth ALOT. Only when u can put like 4 more dry gens then wet gens its worth it to not go with water

Topic: Reactor idle / City. 1 gwp -> 2 gen. GWP get expensive

I hav the following setup:
1 GWP
2 Gen
1 Thermo

making me + 18 billions with this upgrades:

Thermo lvl 12

GWP is upgraded 1 too much, so I will upgrade gen max water and heat cell 1 more time, will give me 25% bonus to income.
But after that GWP gets really expensive.
More GWP per Generator would be a good thing I guess.

But in general: How can I get more income out of city with my upgrades?

Topic: Reactor idle / How do i get gas burners to work without them going KABOOM?

noahater1243 They way you use heat sinks makes you lose money. Try to put generators there where your heat sinks are

Topic: Reactor idle / Builds: Efficient Reactor Designs

On Village with Gas you can have
19 heat sources (1 more then normal)
57 generators

using that 1 boiler to cool down the generator

Topic: Reactor idle / How do i progress faster on village map?

3:1 is best for village, as you can fit in the most generators. (see the pic from wapnoziom).
However as long as you are with gas u can fit in 1 more gas and 3 more gens using 1 boiler to cool down the gen:

19 heat sources (only possible with gas)
57 generators

Topic: Reactor idle / Anything better than 1:1?

In theorie 4:1 is the best. The more gens the more heat you can convert into power. And power = money.
In praxis it depends. First of all is the map. On some maps a 3:1 just fits better and u can place more gens with 3:1 then with 4:1. The next thing can be the heat cell upgrade. The more expensive a heat cell upgrade is the more is a smaller build then 4:1 worth. For example, when a heat cell upgrade costs 100 but a gen upgrade only costs 10, then a smaller build is more efficient, then u can just upgrade the gen more in a 1:1 and get more power out of it.

Topic: Reactor idle / What do we want? An Update! When do we want it? 3 weeks ago...

I totaly support the offline gain problem.

I dont like that I need to have the game open all time. For example when i have to work I close the game.
So best would be just give as much extra ticks as we would get when we are online. No limit of ticks. Then add a Very Fast button where the tick is just set to 1milisec and the game runs as fast as the CPU allows it.
And I never tested it myself but people say it runs slower when its not in an active window. But this is prio 2 and I dont know if the dev can do something about it.

The balance and prices however are fine. I am at City now and so far I like the progressionspeed for an idle game.

Again: I hate when an Idlegame forces me to have the game open und active all time. And i think this will be the reasion to stop play this game in the future.

Would be great if the dev read this and react, cause i think that wont be that big deal of a change.

Topic: Reactor idle / When is the best time to start thermonuclear?

Hey when u do 2:1 dry with nukes then i assume you are ready to switch into thermo with a wet build. Check out my “My waterbuilds on map1-3” thread and u can see how i switched from nukes to thermo

Note, they were lower when I switched into that build

Topic: Reactor idle / Best opening solar panel/generator build?

Maybe a 1:2 build?

As cell upgrades get expensive and this way u can focus on generator upgrades that u need anyway for coal

Topic: Reactor idle / Best opening solar panel/generator build?

Us the smaller islands too
On top u can make 1 solar-gen combo and on bottom islands 2 each. that gives you 5 more gens

And with the incomeboost from that first thermobuild i could go into 3:1 wet thermo lvl1 making 1 bill now!

Topic: Reactor idle / My waterbuilds on map1-3

With a bit of edit i get to this

it works and is stable and i have 850mill income

The only thing is that upgradeding stuff is like rocketscience ( need to scale it with iso to get a good heat balance)

thermo lvl is on 4.

I switched to thermonukes:
http://puu.sh/lOaQB/a1ba9001f6.png

The income I get (including replacement costs) is about even to the income I would get when i spend all the money for 1 more +25% upgrade costs on all components on the 2:1 wet build.

I am not sure if its 100% worth it (if not it is at least really close). But i think it is anyway, cause the most expensive upgrade in the +25% upgradechain was the nuclear cell.

If anyone find a way to fit in 1 more gen or 1 more office I would highly appreciate that!

Is there any good 4:1 wet build for region (with only normal water pumps) that fits at least 12 heat cells in?
I didnt found a solution so far

Topic: Reactor idle / My waterbuilds on map1-3

26 nukes? Oh I will try that, if it works i get a bit more out of it thanks!

What I am looking for is something like a 4:1 wet build on region now.
My gens can handle 9 mill heat now, so i am getting close

Topic: Reactor idle / Map 3 advice needed, switch to water or stay 2:1 gen-nukes

Wow Gen 61? Thats very high for me and I make half of your income.

yes u should switch to water right now. it will boost your income alot, maybe with water you can just switch into thermonuclear.

My upgrades are:
Gen 54 (next upgrade only cost 1.2 trill)
Gen max water 8
water pump 4
nuke: 9

And I make +223 mill (so half of yours, but with alot lower and cheaper upgrades).
My setup is 2:1 wet (50 gens, 25 cells)
And gen make 66% of its power with water

Topic: Reactor idle / Ideas

SIMPLE CHANGES
- In the power plant overview I would love to see the batterystorage % and the power income.
- A bit more In-Game infos how water affects generators (for example: “for each used water the gen can convert 100 extra heat into power”)

COOL STUFF
- A lategame generator that need more components to work (maybe a fusion reactor?)
- Aditional Support buildings. For example a cooling tower that increases the power of a wet generator by a upgradeable % (like the iso for cells)
- Oilfield in the sea (U need a building on land and a pipeline to the oilfield). Oil is selled automaticly. Just a few spots where you can gather oil per map.

OFFLINE
The extra ticks I get from beeing offline are nice, but a bit low. How about we just get the ticks like we would get when we are online? And then have a Fast button and a Very Fast.

Topic: Reactor idle / My waterbuilds on map1-3

I love this game and thats why I wanna share my builds ;)

I am new to water pumps and so I changed my 3 maps to a water builds. It increased my income ALOT.

map1:

It gives me a nice little income of +11.72 mil
Gen: 48, Gen max water 4, nuclear cell 3
(75% of generator power comes from water)

map2:

a wet 1:1 build that gives me +60.7mil
Gen 51, Gen max water 6, nuclear cell 3

(with a Iso +15% next to a cell there is 2 water left in the reactor, so very effective ;)

map3:
before water:

old:

25 cells and 50 wet reactors. Just after the redesign without any gen or cell upgrade and just a few cheap water ups I got a +95 mill income.
With upgrades I got +123 mil. To increase Income more I had to invest much in water pumps and they get expensive really fast.

So I copied a design from the forum..
new:

still 25 cells and 50 reactors, but the cooling is much better, so I was able to upgrade the cell ~2 times and get +178 mil now
Gen: 53, Gen max water: 8, cell 8.

I am not sure what my next steps will be, 1 more nuclear cell upgrade costs $1.01 trill for that I need to upgrade water and/or gen that costs each around 800 bill.
Or I could save ALOT of money and then go into thermonuclear.
Or I go into research and get me the chronometer update.

Topic: Reactor idle / Water, how usefull is it for me right now?

This was my build on region before water:

making 70 million

And this with water:

making 97 million
any idea for improvments?
gen: converts 985’288 heat, 15269 water
cell: produce 3’660’000 heat

I cant switch to hermonuclear yet, would need at least 1 more max heat on gens or just upgrade gens and water and both is too expensive.

Flag Post

Topic: Reactor idle / Water, how usefull is it for me right now?

This is how my second map now looks like:

making 46.88 million power

What I now try is to switch the 3rd map from a 4:1 build with nuclear cell to a thermonuclear build with water cooling.
I calculated that I need 23 cooled generators for 1 thermonuclear.

Ahh I see it now, thanks.

With that maybe I can soon switch to thermonuclear

Topic: Reactor idle / Water, how usefull is it for me right now?

I just researched waterpump and waterpipe and play around with it.

So i figured out that generator with water convert 500’000 more heat into energy. Is that really usefull? Map2 is my testmap for this and a generator on map2 converts 788’230 heat, so instead of building waterpumps and pipes i just build more generators and can convert more heat.

I just dont find out why water would be good and not just a waste of space.

For map1 its different, there my generator only convert 132’243 heat so the 500’000 waterbonus is really worth it. But as soon a generator convert more then 500’000 heat its better to use the space for more generators then for water.

Or do I miss something?
