Am I the only one who feels that there are almost no new decent games on kong in last half a year.

Moreover seems that kong starts to push old games to the “fresh new games” section?

I wanted to start this topic myself, but from another point of view:
Can you first explain how does current MM work?

Huge amount of matches have following issues:
1) Uneven amount of ships in battles
2) Uneven equipment level
3) Uneven ships classes

I can see that there is minor attempt to balance teams via increasing level of AI ships level, but it feels so insignificant compared to players imbalance that it feels like we can ignore it in discussion.

As a general idea of approach on how to fix this would be:
a) Equalize ships amount on both sides
b) Equalize ships equipment (say sum of equipment rating should differ in minimum possible way) in teams total
c) There must be a limit between maximum spread of equipment rating per player ship (any two ships must not differ by more than X).
d) Current AI must be treated lower than player. Thus equipment rating of AI ship can be allowed Y times bigger than rating of player.

There should be balance work on shields/armor. Right now shields do not give Armor Absorb benefit, but regeneration cost is still 1/2 (shield/enrg). Thus it renders shields useless due to the fact that it is much better to fit one more armor or armor repairer at the slot. On top of that, armor repairing give more points to reward. IMHO, shields should be cheaper and faster to repair, but give no absorb bonus. Then reward reducing will make sence. Other point is: would be reasonable to reduce ship performance based on amount of hull remaining. All damaged ship should not be able to fight as good as fully repaired one. This will increase the reason behind having good shields even further.

There might be more solutions to the issue, but these feel reasonable kind of quick fix…

Almost same here. Got 6/8 though… the point is that I have to much trash in my chests and it is too much mess to sell stuff for 1-2 defs…

@TTL2: the point is if two players start playing at the same time, the one, who pays money,will always win disregarding skill of the other player. The time to more-or-less balance it is too long to make it feasible to keep non-paying player base.

1) I’d say much bigger problem is that there’s no balancing for beginner players as they are forced to fight either high-lvls or twinks. No, that one hour of PvP before lvl 16 doesn’t solve it. The main problem of 99% of PvP MMOs I’ve seen is the same: make it equally playable on all lvls. Not that I have to play for month (well, pay 1k+$) before newbie will be even noticed on global arena.

2) yes, pay-to-play/pay-to-win schema is popular, but most money, I ever payed for the game, went to ROTMG in which you don’t really have any pay-for-gameplay-benefit schema (ok, pets appeared later). Hope one fine day there will appear a game where devs were thinking first of gameplay, not monetizing.

well, pets are the only thing that influence game process and must be bought for money. All the rest is mere design and candies. So if they make pets cheaper (in fame), then everything is fine. Can’t say that’s money grind. All other stuff you can get as loot.

Best way to farm:
1) get wiz
2) get to lvl14+ on quests
3) got to glands and get to lvl20. Around here you want to get def ring t3+ and t8+ robe
4-5) max dex in sprites, then wis in UDLs. Order depends on how good ur are.
6) eventually do snake pits. Do Labs for def
7) you have abysses and burial grounds left.
8) have fun

Actually 2 things about PvP:
1) enemies are not marked on radar. I’d prefer to even have an arrow like for planets/stations
2) there’s lvl range for PvP, but no equip balancing, that sets those, who donate up in ladder.

Well, I didn’t say that gunner will not make kills with scouts in opposing team, I said that it will be very annoying and hard. For at least, gunner can kill some of these scouts ;)

Btw, sniper in this game needs 2-5 shots to kill other char. In most games you need 2 shots/1 headshot. Or 2 head shots if opponent has a mega-freakin’-great-armor. So keep that in mind that you’re give much higher chance to survive ;)

Well, I see that there is alot discussion of gunners and angry of those.

1) I played scout for a long time, killed gunners quite easily, often despite their desire to run away. It is just a matter of your tactics:
a) gunner have bad positions to shoot if they sit at the entrance to base
b) you can prevent them from running if they sit anywhere farther, even if they’re near entrance — just catch them unguarded.
c) Yes, gunners are hard to kill buy anyone except scouts or gunners. If gunner dies by any other class — that’s his mistake or idea.

2) I played as gunner lately and can say that they are like artillery: can kill fast and alot, but only if they’re given a chance. What I ended up so far:
a) You can’t play if scouts let other scouts alive. More than 1 opponent sout in game and you’re almost not effective at all. And just give your opponent frags.
b) One tank can make you get the hell out of your position as well
c) For scout it is hard/impossible to kill a gunner 1on1 if not catch him unguarded (and if gunner still has grenades)
d) Sniper is the one to take out the techs’ suppressors down.
e) gunner shoots far and dies way too fast, that’s why he will never, you hear, NEVER will fight you directly and will always look for cover.

Btw, gunner is most like the scout, except that scout can runaway by just getting more distance and gunner has to find a protection either behind shiel (base) either a frienly scout/tank.

While playing tank — you never worry of scouts, you just run to CP and die there after setting up a shield. I had many games that 1-2 tanks can get the control point and win even despite the rest of the team being just killed. (well, much more of cource, but don’t wand to write any more)

Tech does just the same as tank: come to CP and put a turret there, then heal everything that is nearby. With the support of one tank can do quite alot this way. (again, much more, but this is the core)

So basically, any of these classes do their work, but still: scout and gunner are for killing, tank and tech are for protecting. You can say whatever you want, but this is how the game goes and you have to use some brain to kill any other char. I had never seen 100% kills of one class by another. Everything depends on tactics. If your opponent uses one classes, you can just oppose them. Don’t play just with tank always, or just with scout/gunner/tech if you’re get killed. Change classed, adapt to game and will there be victory to thee.

what do you mean ? you have to shoot it to hurt it but how do you do damage to it?

When their invulnerability is gone.

Read wiki. Ent and Lich are flashing blue in the beginning. The more you damage them during this time, the harder the quest will be.

It is not possible to see active debuffs. Like opponent will skip next turn. Hard to see buffs. Espescially ones like dmg reflection. Would be really good to show Debuffs and add graphical representation of both buffs and debuffs. Otherwise it is really hard to view all the ungrouped texts.

Idyll, I do play this game for PvP atm As it is the most interesting part of any CCG. If it is not going to be done proper way, I’ll just abandon game. Guess that I am not the only one here. Plus PvP can not be used for testing stuff as there are totally different mechanics that work.

Nice game, but some suggestions:

1) Why should I click two buttons after the end of each fight? especially PVP when there is no loot? Please, do only one notification.
2) add some way of exchanging cards. Otherwise it is not a true CCG. Would also be good to add some way to reduce number of cards in game (not types of cards, but cards themselves. There is no reason to keep unlimited number of Bash or Greater Bash. They must go away somehow.) But this should give some benefits, not just like “you can play cards only XX times”, Ex: unite several cards to get a better one.
3) This game can’t find server if I am behind a proxy. (set up by auto proxy conf url)
4) I get daily chest only once. No need to remind me of that every time I log in as there is still no more chests coming.
5) I should be able either to pass the chest to other player, either is should be possible to open it the moment I get it as there are too many clicks to get to my inventory.
6) Give some benefits to PvP. Otherwise noone there. Especially there is noone of mid-low level.

Some of these are just UI changes, but they will make this game look much nicer and will prevent new player leave it at the start.
