Ever See Mud and Blood 2 Flamethower?
They’re ok, need lots of micromanagement and pretty dangerous and unreliable (when people on fire run through other people often nothing happens, often they both get caught on fire). Prefer shotguns.

Is this "stealing" or not?
I’m not positive what the legal precedent is for found property, but property that “becomes” found I believe is illegal.
The legal view is that you acquire a title to something when you obtain it, even if it’s obtained in a hostile fashion. This does not however extinguish the title of the original owner which will generally still be a stronger claim and can typically take legal action, given objective evidence, against the new holder. If A dropped a £5 note, B picked it up and dropped it the next day, then C picked it up, I’m not sure who has the stronger claim out of B and C but A should have the strongest claim (ignoring the whole trust/title thing). In the case of land this is part of the reasoning behind the idea of adverse possession.

Depth in games
I think you’re not going to be popular.
DTD’s depth is mostly ruined by easy 3 way juggling allowing players to basically ignore any number of ground units combined with the OP flying units which dominate your attention and resources – yet must be dealt with in a strategically simplistic fashion; AA missiles and dmg+ lattices, eventually with snap towers. For the most part of the game, going for a best score becomes more about knowing the limits of your towers than any perfecting placement (pretty much all gemcraft has too, except in gemcraft’s case it’s complicated a little by being able to throw gems). Still among the best flash games of all time but with quite minor tweaking it could be so much better.
The term depth can’t really be sensibly applied to many types of games, but some genres are just packed with awful games that suggest the creators have absolutely no idea how hard what they’re attempting is. 2d melee fighters come to mind, time and time with insufficient variety in moves or serious consideration given to AI, hit priority, etc to be anything more than repetitive button mashers with simple abusable strategies. Strategy is just as bad; most game makers disregard depth in favour of some cheap achievements/character development hook.
Lots of games are ruined simply by a lack of depth which can be seen in various ways. The thing things, the last one being worst in this regard, have simple abusable strategies. Mud&Blood has most the mechanics for a deep game in place but its buried under terrible balancing, achievements with non cosmetic effect, and a huge host of problems. I can only assume making a game that allowed for a challenge when you had a serious level of control of your troops was beyond the game’s creator, and they gave up. Battallion Nemesis would make a deep MP game but only basic strategy is required for the PvCPU play offered. True for Mytheria too, would be deep if MP but no thought required for the scenarios available. Nano War’s pretty decent, again would be excellent with PvP. Otherwise… Honestly just looking down the 1st page of top rated s+d games hurts my faith in humanity.

REFLEXES. That is, SWIFTLY PROCESSING and ACTING upon a NEW or CHANGE IN EXTERNAL STIMULUS. This is NOT TIMING.
When you master the sentences immediately above, we can talk. In the meantime I’ll take pleasure in watching your appeal to authority of a sourceless 4 line stub taken out of context from a public content site. I can’t believe you’re so pathetically desperate for vindication… but then it was ‘only’ a month ago you decided to rile up over a polite pointing out of your semantic incompetence, why stop now?

There’s a thread in the Kongregate forum which has what you describe, all badges listed by difficulty.

3) Any twitch-reflexes game. Meat Boy (if you don’t think this is a twitch game, then look up the definition of a twitch game and then hit yourself with a 2×4), etc.
Hah, saw your pointed comment. Christ, ever tried reading the crap you write? REFLEXES. That is, SWIFTLY PROCESSING and ACTING upon a NEW or CHANGE IN EXTERNAL STIMULUS. This is NOT TIMING. For TWITCH games, see UNREAL TOURNAMENT (original) or COD4. STREAMLINE or 4 SECOND FRENZY. IKARAGUA or RAGDOLL AVALANCHE.
Meat Boy is very slightly more ‘twitch’ than Hanna in a Choppa or Fold, both of which DO require careful timing. NOT AT ALL.

Is anyone else completely irritated by this?
DTD is the only top game that has never irritated me in the slightest. It’s not perfect (too much focus on flying enemies and via effective 3 way juggling any amount of ground creeps are trivialised) but it’s still one of the deepest flash games.

A nice game I've happened upon
I saw this linked from vgcats a couple of days ago. Reminded me of a game on Kong (http://www.kongregate.com/games/Komix/speck-opp… ) but imo quite a lot less interesting. Gets tricky at about 5-2 iirc.

Used that tactic right there. Could have got a lot more but stopped becuase i just needed 5×.
Ditto. Anyone actually not use the ‘camp the green and yellow balls level’ tactic?

Purpose of life - why are we here?
Nihilism could be seen as depressing, it could be seen as liberating. Saying ‘life has no inherent purpose, just that which I give it’ would be the latter, for me.

This thread is what happens when someone watches one perfectly good albeit somewhat biased introductory video to economics… and completely and utterly fails to understand it.
Something like this, right? Take another shot

mud and blood 2: worst situations
It becomes somewhat less detestable once you level a bit so a typical soldier can actually hit stuff. Shame by the point the game’s almost playable, you’ve already got all the badges… In the meantime if you want these badges make heavy use of shotguns. Stack men on top of each other in a trench by moving them quite far apart then finish telling them all to go to the same place before any of them have arrived. Get 1 scout and get the scout a shotgun or BAR, use the bar at the top to help you know when you can taunt. Get a tank early as possible and park it ahead of all soldiers in the top 1/3rd of the screen either by parking shotgunners up top or advancing a lot. Gunners are actually godly if they start with good rifle and get decent xp, especially for the price, at high xp better than a soldier with a BAR.

Minimum age to use Google?
By implied consent, yes. In court this would of course be complicated, but Google could easily make the case that it is a clearly marked product, and the fact that you did not bother to find out what the “cost” may be does not excuse your breaching the contract.
No, not unless legislation clearly predefines a search engine/web utility/whatever and user relationship.
Implications of this type have more relevence to commercial dealings as they have the potential to instil a dangerous uncertainty.

Who do you think has more Kongregaters: United States or Europe?
I think you’re forgetting that Russia is a European Country.
By FAR the greater part of Russia’s landmass is in Asia. Russia’s transcontinental. Regardless, most of Europe’s kongregators would be from the UK, France, Germany and other central/Western/Northern countres (i.e. not Russia, Greece, etc).

Some games I’m just really bad at, mostly the SCGMD. Some I just can’t be bothered to get good enough to beat, whether it’s a question of skill (ragdoll invasion I’m bad at for some reason) or tedious pattern learning (z-rox, Doeo), tons which are just way too grindy like balloon invasion and zilch. Some too frustratingly luck-based. About 3 badges I got already that didn’t submit that I can’t bring myself to do again, mostly that rings one. Some I just haven’t got around to like music bounce.

Competition to find the best 2 - Round 2
This game is such a PoS. Everyone just abuses the hell out of the green+yellow balls level. Would never have bothered getting the hard if it wasn’t there, unless someone wrote a in-out-out-out-in type guide for the radial rotating level.

On the bright side, it doesn’t quite meet the ‘4 second xyz’ serie’s level of utter worthlessness.

Sonny 2 - An interview with Krin
I’ve decided I don’t want to give players full control of the AI. There are plenty of games that do that, and I think it’s more interesting to have to work WITH the AI rather than control it completely…
idiotic.
once you get a boss down to 50% life, he might say “Now I pwn you!” and starts using completely different skills and fighting styles, so your tactics and strategy are REALLY put to the test this time…
hardly.
I’m thinking of making it so that the faster you make your move, the more effective it is and the less likely it is to miss. This will put pressure on you and make it more intense and challenging.
moronic.

Badge Discussion: 99 Bricks
Yeah you can do a lot better than that – needs more hooks and less vertical faults. Just resting a piece across the top of a fault isn’t nearly as good as hooking them together.

Funny, I don’t remember accepting any ToS when I went to Google.com. There was never any statement of the terms of the contract, unless I specifically sought them out. Can I really be compelled to a contract that I never saw, accepted, or even knew existed?
No you can’t, not in that context.

Glad to see this game get recognition. The lag might make this difficult for some people, otherwise shouldn’t take anyone more than 10 mins. Max combo is probably a better indicator of skill than hiscore but w/e.

@ Serghi – you should be typing this. You need the location of the actual image not the page it’s on.
