Hello fellow anime fans.

Anyone who watches / knows about the following anime they’d like to discuss? (You know, I haven’t bothered reading the thread).

  • Tokyo Ghoul Root A – My opinion: Terribad compared to the first season. Damn. The amount of wtf compared to the manga this anime has, it’s almost

  • As bad as Akame Ga Kill, which decided mid season to go COMPLETELY OFF story wise. What the hell? The manga is still going, Anime is done?

  • Also liking Log Horizon, tho it’s a bit stale at moments. Boring, almost. I’d rather enjoy some ecchi DxD or IS.

  • Last but not least, Death Parade. I almost feel like the studio behind Death Note had made this sick anime. It’s cool but also damn cruel ._.

  • I’ve seen all of those but have not read the mangas to any.

Tokyo Ghoul Root A – A lot of people upset with this, I think it’s ok so far. A bit less emotional than the last season though, it is still decent.

Akame Ga Kill – I’ve always heard of people being upset because of how it went away from the manga, but I thought this anime was well done with including comedy and an atmosphere of darkness.

Log Horizon – 1st season was not too bad, but it became slice of life. I dropped the second season after about episode 18, I just got bored with it.

Death Parade – LOVING this! The art is pretty, really like the opening. It makes me think every episode of what I’d do with the person and I always end up changing once I learn the whole story about them. It’s nice thought provoking anime with some feel good and feel bad moments.

I really can’t decide between Minerva and Vulcan. They both look well…pretty moe lol.

Twas a great show. Chihiro definitely should have been with him.

So I’ve been watching anime with my friend and he’s really digging it. Over the course of this month we’ve watched Attack on Titan, Sword Art Online, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, and now we’re currently watching No Game No Life.

Real bad? Why do you say so? I’m enjoying this new season.

For me, at least, this season has incredibly poor pacing, little emotional impact, and generally not enough suspense to retain my interest.

    It ain’t over yet!

Me personally? I’ve only read a few manga but I did read Attack on Titan manga because of how long the wait is for next season. Like Endless said, it feels nice to go at whatever pace you want to go at.

I’ve noticed this though; when I watch currently airing shows I am ok if the show isn’t so good, since I am only watching once a week.

Kill la Kill was actually excellently done with the dub, I was very impressed. Baccano! usually gets thrown around when talking about good dubs.

Ugh, I hate when the male characters are like that. It’s not funny, it’s not interesting, and it reminds me of Green Green. The females characters aren’t much better. This is going to be a rare time when I watch the sub when the dub is available. The dub of the first episode is just awful.

I’ll still finish it, but I can already see where this is going. After the first episode, the only reason i can see for it’s high rating is nudity.

    But the plot bro!

I’m surprised I’m still watching Cross Ange: Tenshi to Ryuu no Rondo even now at episode 19. It totally doesn’t seem like my type but for some reason I’m still watching it!

Ya ever had an anime that you totally thought you’d dislike but instead you loved it?

Dangit. So I’ve gotten into manga. Problem is: I’ve caught up on OnePunch-Man and Shingeki No Kyojin so I have to wait so long just for another chapter to be released!

Nice! Have you seen SAO 2? Also, Akame ga Kill was nice! I liked the series.

Although I have not seen many Miyazaki movies, he is certainly very famous. In the western world he is pretty famous as well.

    Glad you liked Steins;Gate!

Mirai Nikki, Death Note, and Code Geass are all pretty great thrillers.

I have played a bit of backgammon and although it’s fun, I like chess better.

Chess simply has more strategies and involves more “forward thinking”

I’d rather play checkers than backgammon really.

Unfortunately Log Horizon has become boring for me and I just…I can’t handle it. There’s less mystery in it than what was originally, it is more of a slice of life.

1st season was alright, 2nd season started out nice but after episode 16 I can’t take any more. Oh well!

Unfortunately there are a lot of other animes I like but I feel they either won’t like or it is ecchi and I don’t quite want to watch that with them. I wanted to watch TTGL or a few others but unfortunately due to certain characters (Yoko) I don’t feel comfortable watching with them something like that.

Some good anime you could show them which don’t have over-sexualized characters/obnoxious ecchi moments and haven’t been mentioned:

    -Cowboy Bebop
    -Last Exile
    -Darker Than Black
    -Eureka 7
    -Blue Gender

If you’re fine with sparse/light ecchi moments:

-Soul Eater (mostly the first ep that’s in question here…)
-Inuyasha (several bathing scenes and Miroku…)
    -Zatch Bell (Folgore…)
-Spice and Wolf (nude scenes, but not really sexual, sort of)

Those are some good ones. I totally forgot about Spice and Wolf! Holo please forgive me.

I think I’ll do Steins;Gate next and then try out one of those. I’m also thinking perhaps Sailor Moon :3 My mom says she’s seen some of the original.

I meant to watch that a while ago when I found out it was the same person who originally wrote SAO. I never got around to it though, I’ll toss it onto my long list of “I will get to it eventually”.

Heh, my list of “Things I’ll get to eventually” keeps getting bigger and bigger.

So last week I finished watching Attack on Titan with my mom and sister, today I plan on introducing either Death Note or Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood to them (I’ll let them pick which one) and we’ll start watching it. I gotta say, I had no idea they’d be interested in it, but it feels nice to watch with the family.

lol get them to watch deadman wonderland

It’s actually got a similar feel to AoT.

    P.S. shiro is my waifu

I don’t think my mother will like Deadman Wonderland. She is not very good with main characters having problems or being hurt. I really hate how she watches things, she’ll look up the ending to make sure the main characters live or have a happy ending, it’s a bit annoying. (I convinced her not to do this for Attack on Titan, she may have done it anyway though)

Still in the realm of possibilities though.

Just keep pushing the incest animes and eventually you will conquer.

My god man, that’s not funny.

A lot of people like to watch stuff with incest or like to ship siblings but when you have one it just feels totally different. I’m ok with sometihng like OreImo but I’m never going to ship siblings together.

Go with FMA: B. I personally didn’t like the original (although I admit it’s pretty good), so I didn’t give Brotherhood a try.

If they end up liking mecha, you could go for Gundam X or Gundam V.

They may like mecha, not sure. They both really liked Attack on Titan though.

Also, you should give FMA:B a try if you ever get the chance, it is much better than FMA. I originally watched FMA and didn’t like it but I went back and watched FMA:B and fell in love.
