The animes I’ve seen this season have all come in various types, but three of them have actually caught my attention, they look very good. Your style of anime may be different though, but, here we go:

Gokukoku no Brynhidldr is a sci-fi anime with a main character who doesn’t really suck or cry a lot. I believe this anime is made by the same people as Elfen Lied, and it shows. After seeing episode 3, they REALLY have my attention, worth trying. I also love the opening :3

Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei is about a world that is mixed with magic and science and takes place in a school setting. The school has two different categories and it’s a big case of segregation and people feeling “we’re better than you”, reminds me of the Dr. Seuss yellow star story. Anyways, the main character is a badass but he is quite modest. So far I’m liking this a lot.

No Game No Life is a mix of comedy and strategy, so far it seems that it is a bit similar (or trying to be, I think they’re doing good with it) to that of Death Note and Code Geass for having those crazy “OMG THIS GUY THINKS THIS FAST WITH ALL THESE STRATS?” kind of feel. Put in a little side love story and comedy and boom. I like it so far.

Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii reminds me a lot of Spice and Wolf (though the main male character reminds me of Ciel Phantomhive) and follows the story of the princess from the rain kingdom who enters the sun kingdom to marry their king. The king is a little kid and the princess doesn’t like taking orders, but, it works out well.

Keep in mind I’ve only seen 3 episodes of each of these so far, but of the 13 animes I’m watching these 4 are something I think worth investing time watching.

It was meh, good enough to watch all the seasons but there were certainly parts I didn’t like.

That series was disgraceful.

I too didn’t get that part in the final episode, I wanted them to show how he managed to do that.

Although you were talking to Kenneth, I find it boring so far (which is only 2 episodes, plenty of things can happen), but it is much more focused on dialogue between characters and monologue from the character them self, which, does not interest me. I’m okay with little to none fight scenes (Steins;Gate is my favorite afterall), but I feel that the story is less important to the producer.

This applies to the monogatari series aswell, I am just not interested in character alone. But I have to admit, they do a very good job with characters.

Also, I love the Nonon avatar, Mans. My current skype avatar is a king of the hill/kill la kill crossover. :P

Saturday like Saturday in the U.S? Because if it won’t be uploaded til Sunday, then that means I have to wait til a Monday.

It actually got subbed last night (For US) I watched it from here:

Speaking of Mekaku, a lot of you guys seem quite excited about it and well, I have found it boring so far. I’m going to keep watching in hopes it gets better, but the fancy shaft art style isn’t enough to keep me watching it.

Black Butler is one of the worst if not the worst anime I’ve seen. The manga is pretty decent though.

?? Disregarding season 2, Black Butler anime was fine. If that’s the worst anime you’ve seen, you are lucky.

Log Horizon was quite awesome! I’m excited. :DDDDDDD

Is it something you could readily recommend? I sort of put it on hold in its earlier episodes to catch up with HxH and never got back to it.

Which? Log Horizon or Kill la Kill? I recommend both actually. They both are amazing at what they do. (Though I like KlK better)

Only Hachikuji looks like hachikuji, I really don’t know what person looks like her other than her. Did you see this anime on netflix or something?

Uh oh!

So as I add another anime to the dropped list I am starting to wonder why I don’t like them. Especially the high rated ones like Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Psycho-Pass, Rainbow: Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin, and now Gurren Lagann I also dropped Chobits, Lucky Star, Mahou Sensou, and Samurai Flamenco. I’ve seen at least 3 or more episodes of them all, some of them being in the 15’s

All of these animes have been made by producers that I’ve enjoyed other animes of and people seem to love these 4, so I don’t understand how I don’t get the same feel. The mystery to Higurashi was boring, the thriller to Psycho-Pass got me bored, rainbow: nisha rokubou lost my interests once they got out of jail and gurren lagaan didn’t have that epicness I wanted and it was trying to give.

Help! I think I’m becoming more cynical!

When I watch, I watch 12 episodes in a row (13 if it is a 13 episode show). If there are only 3 episodes left I might as well just wait.

Right now I have it at the point where I’m watching enough shows currently airing that I will have at least one episode on a day, then I watch “filler” ones which are done airing and I like.

Anyone watching Samurai Flamenco? Is it any good?

I’ve been watching Samurai Flamenco, and it’s one of my favorites this season along with KLK. However, it’s not particularly well written, and in fact, I’d say it’s deliberately written in a nonsensical manner. It’s definitely not an anime for everyone, and as Indy said, there’s a massive tone shift after the first part. But if you can get past somewhat immature sentai action, it’s fully enjoyable and carries a good message.

I’ve never looked at it that way. But yeah, if you’re into that kind of stuff (I’m not), then it does well. Glad to see more fans of Kill la Kill

I have a policy of not watching airing anime. I am extremely eager to watch them both.

Absolutely not. I can not even share how upset I was with what the producer was doing with it. The first episodes are nice, but as it goes on it gets more and more stupid. Don’t expect the first five episodes to be like all the season.

That’s how I’ve felt about every show for the last 6 seasons with Winter 2013 being the worst lineup I’ve seen in ages. Attack on Titan is the only show recently released off of the top of my head that hasn’t completely spiraled 4 episodes in.

I also found Shingeki no Kyojin, Toaru Kagaku no Railgun (especially S), Baccano and Ano Hana really enjoyable and can recommend them to anyone.

I liked A certain magical index better than the scientific railgun series, but you like railgun better than index? :o

Okay, since the last time I posted my “top 5” were completely joke, I will give an actual top 5 list that I consider something mostly objective and anyone who watches anime should see.

In no specific order,

1. Lelouch of the Rebellion (This contains awesome strategy and is very much a psychological thriller, if death note is checkers then this is chess.)
2. Steins;Gate (This is my personal favorite, it is fun to watch and it brings out each emotion of yours, lovely for those who like to think about time too.)
3. Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood (Not to be mistaken with its ugly brother, Full Metal Alchemist, FMA:B is regarded as one of the best, and I enjoyed it. The story focuses on two brothers in a world full of alchemy (kind of like magic), this is something people of all ages can enjoy.
4. Attack on Titan (This anime is fairly new, and it was hyped, so you may get those “hipsters” that want to say it is bad, but in reality, this anime took everyone by storm, and rightfully so. Lots of action happens and the plot is interesting enough to keep you there for that. Cool, fairly unique idea to it.)
5. Clannad and Clannad After Story (So let me explain this one, you must watch Clannad before Clannad After Story, but once you watch Clannad After Story, it will make Jeff the killer come to tears. This is an absolutely beautiful tear jerkers and one my first animes ever. Excellent to watch!)

Some honourable mentions: (Ones I like a lot that maybe you too)

Spice and Wolf
Future Diary
Kill la Kill
Death Note
Fate Zero
Sword Art Online
World God Only Knows

Some I’m currently watching that are also regarded as good: (I’m liking them so far)

Monogatari series
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

So…some bad news. Very bad news! Oh my gosh I can’t believe this has happened. To think, after all this time, something like this would occur. With such a disaster as this I am so sad. I just can’t take this sadness, why does this have to happen? This event is extremely depressing, it is just so awful to hear. I’m…I’m so upset :( Anyways, I did not realize how much work quiz bowl took, so…IT’S CANCELLED 4EVER (Since 5ever is too long)

Don’t let them build up in the first. Remember the baby face’s blaster has a clip of 4. Something I do (this applies to more than just baby faces) look slightly to their left or right, they are going to strafe to the opposite side. Predicting this should give you a nice shot on them. Fancy enough, they will not catch onto your little trick. But overall, BFB is not amazing (though i like it). Also, try getting them inside, somewhere small.
