Topic: I AM PLAYR / What a MASSIVE Disappointment the upgrade has been

I wouldnt mind the update so much, but I now have games where i get 0 chances even with an ability on for the match. Starting out that might make sense, but I’ve got my nike contract and I’m several season in. I shouldnt be getting 0 shot chance games anymore and they really need to fix it.

If they don’t I’ll just post some bad reviews (well deserved at this point) and move on. Only a horrid game makes it to where you can’t win unless you pay. Paying should be something to either make the game a tad easier or get a slight advantage over your fellow players. Energy issues don’t matter once you get the gillette upgrades so those of you complaining about that should stop.

1. While I agree that ambushes can be a problem at lower levels, there is no need for them to be removed. They add difficulty to the game and help players handle larger groups in later areas for you learn how to do crowd control from that imo. You then stated that ambushes should be smaller, but again they tend to not be all at once (one mob spawns at a time). This isn’t always the case, but you do get time to run if need be.

2. Again, there is no reason to give players a multi. att. from the start. There has to be some difficulty to the game to start with.

3. Allowing the player to change camera angles in a game like this can be tricky. Instead of handing over complete control, it would probably be better to allow the player to face a cardinal direction based on the arrow keys. The current follow system does create blind spots, but the radar helps to offset this. It doesn’t help with aiming abilities though.

4. Many games that operate server side don’t have a “pause” button. I understand this is single player for the moment and more could be done client side, but the reason most games resist this is due to tampering that can be done w/ programs if the game has parts that are client side.

5. I’ve seen a lot of posts about freezing and lag. To be perfectly honest, this has a lot to do with your computer and connection. My game has never “froze” or had significant lag even when I have a movie playing at the same time. Unity player is a different beast than a regular flash game and takes a decent amount more power for the computer to play it smoothly. If you want to play this game w/o lag issues I would suggest using a reasonably up to date desktop over a laptop assuming you have that option. If not, the developer can add some more options to lower the graphic detail on the game, but for the most part it is simply the limitation of your device.

To preface this post I should say I haven’t spent the time digging through old posts and updates. I’m trying to give FRG a perspective of the game from someone who has been away from it for a few months.

Been away from the game since august, but having returned i feel like i can point out a few things that have changed that concern me somewhat.

1. The mega-damage bonus seems to be a bit overdone. When I get that thing w/ a flame on the training map nething that gets near me is usually dead. When I’ve seen that paired with shotgun it basically forces a shield. I couldn’t imagine being a scout going up on a gunner w/ that buff.

2. The stun effect on the tech gun seems to have gotten a rather large buff. Padrone was able to keep me stunned w/o any delay for 10 seconds before a gap formed. I think stuns are part of the game so I’m complaining about that, I just question limiting the opposing player’s ability to react.

3. I seem a lot faster on tank than I was before. Granted, I play tank like I’m on speed usually, but i think the speed increase is a bit overdone if it was added. If not ignore that.

4. Besides all this, the game still feels and plays the same. It’s nice to see some old faces and a few new ones. It’s good to play against the likes of them again and I hope to be making gunners annoyed as much as possible.

The 30 day rental price is essentially permanent if you play regularly. Why isn’t this sufficient?

Most ppl who end up using kreds are called noobs. Personally I have a good job so throwin some money ata game doesnt matter to me, but alot of these guys are hs students who still think 100 bucks isa lot of money. I also want to support the developer of a game I enjoy so I spend some kreds occasionally on games I like.

To put it simply, ppl want to own all the weapons FRG and they could nvr do that by just renting them for 30 days. At most you can rent about 4 weapons if you play reg. for 30 days at a time. I think that’s more than fair.

O_O 20k is plenty.

It was sarcastic to mean that it should be a huge price to get it perm w/ cash. Would give people the option while still making them have to work harder for it.

FRG you really need to do something about superlatino. He is really hurting the balance in moon base games by just sitting there as a lft. If you get teamed with him it is basically just an added amount to your respawn time. I could understand if this was rare, but he does this most every game that he is in now. The people that just sit afk in games arent half as annoying as someone who is there that just sits in base and soaks up cash.

It’s very hard to find a dedicated healer. Loopy, internal, and Gamevioolator are. And they have good survivability for techs. They are great teammates to have. Good handle of the game and are pretty smart. If you think that describes your gameplay in FFT, then you don’t need me or anyone else to type your name up on this thread. Again, my list is not and will never be complete.

This basically sums it up for as to how you consistently win games. You have to understand your team and even though I top out on kills in a lot of games, I don’t always win. This has to do with how the rest of my team plays. No one can solo a match against 6 other players.

The best way I can describe this is think of how I play tank as a scout with less mobility but remains focused on the CP until I see a target I think I can take down that will prevent me from standing on the CP. That’s how I play tank and I think my tank style has benefits to a team in that I keep snipers disrupted rather well and can still hold a CP rather well. The way youll win with me is for other tanks to realize that and to not move from the CP when I do. As well, understand that even though I can 1v1 most tanks and can even take two tanks at once sometimes, I cant hold a CP on them at all since they can sit on it with the shield. Getting off scout and going tank will help me hold because I can essentially do a scouts job in dealing with snipers. I can’t say this enough, but I hate scouts that arent using flare gun in games w/ me. Most of them just take up space and refuse to sit on a CP. There are exceptions, but not many.

To put it simply, as a tank I am not normally a sit on the CP and wait for things to come to me person. The CP is my focus and I will defend it if I see it being taken, but I won’t sit there waiting around to be sniped. A bell rung will force a shield out of me anyway and at that point im just going to be an easy target for another tank. Some call my tank play style annoying because I have the ability to kill a sniper faster than a scout does with much less chance of the gunner actually killing me. I’ve had some gunners actually hunt me down to get me out of the way so they can snipe. This keeps them from looking at the CP which is a win for me regardless.

The thing that makes a deadly combo with me and Dot is that he does focus on the CP and if I see him having problems I will go in there and help him clear before he gets killed. I am big on being a team player and ganging up on ppl. I really do not care about kill steals because sometimes those kill steals are what keeps me alive. I’d rather them make the mistake of attacking and then checking to see if it saved me than doing it the other way around. I’ve had so many ppl complain about kill stealing on here that I find it pathetic. Should a person really check both you and the other players health before helping? Sometimes that can be done, but not often.

In conclusion, understand your team play styles and adapt to those styles if you want to win. This means allowing the players that are the best at those jobs to be on them. If you only care about your own kill count do wtf you want but don’t complain when your team loses and call them all noobs. I’ve been on teams with 3-5 scouts before and my attempts to get the team balanced to win usually go unheeded. This has made me hate scout more than any other class because it seems to be the go to horrible player class anymore. That used to be tank, but the saber glitch changed all that. Now I can get 52 kills in a match and still lose. The opposing team will say I wasn’t a team player, but I was playing my class exactly as I should. You simply cannot win a game against other pro players with all scouts. In my opinion there should never be more than one scout to disrupt and distract players on each team, but that’s a discussion for another time.

and the reason we can pick up this little brief path of lumination is because of our technologically aided super sight goggles.

Yes, It IS a game set far in the future.

Bam. Problem solved. We have super high tech goggles. So anything that happens that violates physics isn’t actually happening. The goggles just make it look that way.

Hence why I said artistic license. They can make up w/e crap they want to justify the trail. I was just giving you a description of the actual weapon and how it would work normally.

Anything else is just conjecture as to how the bullet trail is shown. Btw if it was your helmet, why doesnt the trail stay as a constant line to point to the sniper? Would make more sense than showing it for a split second. Anyway the fact is it lights up and idc. lol

Well, it’s not a laser. it’s a high speed bullet surrounded in plasma/electricity/energy. He means the color of what it shoots >.>

That’s from wiki, but I built one of these irl before (I’m an engineer). Since basically no game made sticks to particle physics as far as bullets are concerned, there technically shouldn’t be any graphic besides the projectile. A real rail gun will obviously be visible, but there is no gun powder to show a bullet firing nor would the projectile have any light on it at all barring any aerodynamic properties that are additional to this problem. Considering that the gravity on moon base is the same as the shuttlebay I’m going to go out on a limb and say the developers arent focusing on physics when building levels. By adding the trail in the game FRG is actually helping players with a benefit they wouldn’t normally have.

In simplest terms, a rail gun accelerates a projectile through electromagnetism and converts that electromagnetic energy into kinetic energy that is transferred to the projectile. Since kinetic energy is = mass * velocity squared, the only limit on a rail gun is the speed at which the particle is delivered. There is no limit to the size of the weapon, hence how the Halo game makers used massive rail guns as planetary defense systems for earth. The larger the projectile at a greater speed would mean more damage.

I realize none of this means two shits toya but I figured I’d give a bit of a lesson on the weapon’s real world counter part.

I wish weapons in the game were a little more in line with their counterparts in reality, but I suppose it is artistic license on the developer’s part.

Vehicles represent a pretty big coding challenge in that you have to program how theyd move around terrain. Forget using flying vehicles lol. If they can use a template to begin with I could see it working, but I’m not sure I like the idea of vehicles. The map would have to be a lot larger for them to make any sense and I have concerns about the size of the game getting to a point that some new people won’t even bother to let it load.

I’m going to say I’m indifferent on vehicles being added from a game standpoint. My only concerns come from the programming side.

I mean, we all work hard to get some points to buy equipment, but how come you only rent a gun you strive so hard for only to have it for one day? It’ll make some people angry, it’s not a major thing, but I still think it should still be considered.

You can rent for up to 30 days. You can purchase weapons perm. w/ kreds. Please read over faqs and the armory section before accusing the developer of things.
