First, the survivors have no personality. Mostly.
Nick seems…Interesting, I guess. Has a possibility for character development, but that’s about it.
Coach is your average stereotypical football coach, and has little personality besides the ‘leader’.
Ellis is the average guy with no personality other than being foolhardy and a tiny bit witty sometimes. (That “kill all sonsabitches. thats MAH ’FFISHUL ’NSTRUKSHUNS” line was horrible, IMO. Chocolate Helicopter is way better.)
Rochelle…Eh…She could just be a gray box that follows you around without saying anything, and I don’t think anyone would notice.

Gameplay is mostly the same. Yeah, sure, the melee weapons are cool, but they get old. Guns…Cool at first, but shooting a zombie is only fun so many times with each gun. Not to mention the fact that the campaigns would probably get pretty boring pretty fast if you aren’t playing with friends, which I can’t do hardly ever due to scheduling complications. I prefer multiplayer games that don’t focus so much on co-op, but I love the additional feature when it’s presented.

The graphics are pretty good; I like how they upped the gore factor from the original. It’s just so satisfying to smash a zombie with a pan or shoot them with a shotgun. Really, though, this appeal will only last so long.

Granted, I don’t have the game, and I only played a little over at a friends (and the demo, which I played through several times), but judging from my experience with the previous game combined with the limited time I’ve had with this just tells me it’s not my type of game. Don’t get me wrong, it’s well made, and I can completely see how co-op fans could love this game (Again, I want to love these types of games, but never have anyone to play with due to a lot of my friends being overseas and having different timezones.), but it just doesn’t seem like the type of game I’d enjoy. I strongly prefer either a single-player experience, multiplayer experience, and sometimes single player with co-op, depending on how much its ‘forced’ on you.

I’d much rather be picking up Assassin’s Creed 2 or Forza 3 this holiday season over this, but if I ever see it in the bargain bin a few months down the road, I’d surely pick it up.
