Definitely check out famitracker for making chiptunes. It’s a rather great tracker, in my opinion, and though I’m not very good with trackers, it has a rather intuitive interface and it’s very solid.

Also, should we post links to good VSTs/percussion samples here too?

Heath Morris, especially his album Night Sounds. While not popular by any standards, it’s extremely high quality electronica that I would not skip a beat to recommend to any person. Space Memories in particular is probably in my top 5 favourite electro house tracks of all time.

I’d remove noise music, because there’s really no point in it. All music genres are great, though.

Look at Bloons Tower Defense 4. It’s a sequel to the original, but lower rated. Why? Well, it’s because you have to pay to level up faster. Gamers will have similar reactions to having surveys shoved down their throats to level up. 10% is ridiculously high of a percentage to expect, and developers have to worry that if it’s too heavy handed to try to make money that gamers will retaliate for this. It happens.

The music of today is awesome, what are you talking about? If you only look at the top X in your local popular music radio station, it’s probably safe to say that it’s not going to be fantastic. But if you actually TRY to find good music, I’m sure you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

If you get paid when people click an ad and do a sponsor, and gamers click ads and do sponsors to get special bonuses, you’re not getting paid. Gamers aren’t going to go through annoying surveys for a mild bonus.

Well, thank you DukeNukemForever for that ridiculously unnecessary bit of trolling. Jaume, I understand what you mean by that, but there’s more of an excuse for not putting it on the iPhone – Apple is a bit picky with software. Plus, if it’s on the site, it should be cross-platform IMO.

This is a pretty big deal for the small percentage of Linux users who frequent Kongregate because quality flash games are cross-platform. And the fact that now Kongregate is supporting a platform that doesn’t run on Linux, it’s not cool. Are there plans for one in the future, or should we just ignore Unity games?

This serves no purpose at all. People will make teams if they have a project, and there are already sites for creative people to gather and discuss art and literature. Trying to merge the two will result in not a single drat being given.

The problem I have with this site is where it’s hosted. I have nothing against working with other people(in fact, I would very much love to) but if the site is hosted on webs.com I’m not sure if it’s worth it. Not to say anything against the web designers or anyone else involved with the site, but no custom domain for a music services reeks of un-professionalism, and if I were a game project leader, I would steer clear of anything without one. I strongly advise getting a domain name if you want to seriously pursue this business, and good luck to you.

Let me go in more detail, suppose you have a game like Bible Fight. The game was not very good, but it was very offensive to some people. That site caused massive flame wars and debates, there is a high chance that if more people were “on the train” more people would be offended, thus causing massive turmoil to the whole site, and posibly getting the site sued by some christian person.
