Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Fantasy Online] Gems Every Time You Lvl Up

Let’s go back to no gem gift, the way it was one month ago. Geez, why the big hububallo about having everything being absolutely free? There’s loopholes with surveys, time spent gaining in-game gold will allow buying from the market, and the slightly more expensive gem items only cost a few dollars if chosen to actually buy. This is rediculous. No one’s gameplay is being harmed.

Point is, MMORPG’s aint meant to try and keep people off, but meant to keep people ON.

The rest system makes it so instead of completing a game in a couple of days, the opportunity for income arises for the players who would consider purchases if they play in the long run. All gem options of the game are for the players who are making choices, not for the ones who arn’t going to pay. Because nearly all the gameplay is point click kill, farming isn’t seen as an alternative activity, just overtime without much of a payoff.
A side note before it’s mentioned: kills, gold, and time spent playing have no value. Work done gaining experience(depleating the rest bar) as well as gems have an actual cost.

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Fantasy Online] how do we give stuff to people?

Currently, the game is not fit for free trading. Too many exploits, too many problems, too many structures to change and get messed up. Most everything reguarding items would have to be rebuilt.

First, go to the town area, the place you arrived at when you log in. There should be shops, as well as an old lady near some green ogres if I recall. From this town, you want to go on a southern route to bottom leftish of the town, not the way to the skeletons. You should see turnips, or other such white vegetables. Continue south and you’ll find the old man with crabs and the place you begin the game. I haven’t started for a while, so I apologize if this is innaccurate.

An new city area has been in the works for some time now. That house idea is on a level that is uncompatable with the current game structure.

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Fantasy Online] MARKET

It’s partially about availability, and new player exploitation. There has to be a cost for easily getting a valuable good. Crap-items are much more trouble than they’re worth to put up, and low-level and non-farming players have to be careful with their money. A good game makes you earn rewards, like saving money for better equipment.

Any gold to gem trade, for any part of the game, would be a loss. That small little effort to buy the gem items instead of a simple exchange is enough for the currency and income system to function successfully. Although I admit not the best it could be. If a few strong gem items couldn’t be sold in the market, than the game might earn some extra support.

All of your suggestions are either old, obvious, or pretentious. Sound has probably been wanted since the release. Currently there is a lack of variety of mage and archer items in the early stages of the game, but at the max levels there is balance.

The cave is a bonus stage, not a requirement, and soon to be able to get around. Pass items are more than likely to be made in the future. For now, many people can easily get kreds for gems by being patient with the survey systems.

More areas seem to contantly be in production lately, like the upcomming city. Too many daily quests would be useless, as we really only need to pick between a few choices. Two daily quests that do two different things at each stage are the most required. For now, there’s not much advantage to level up past the soft cap of 36.

Being able to trade would stop the player that considers buying from buying. The market is practically a trade, but more of a check-in so low level players and high level players don’t give slightly as much free advantages.

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Fantasy Online] Drop sell back Prices

Consider that easy drops are not good for the game, that deflation of item values, especially in the market, will hurt the game as it developes. There shouldn’t be be a way to obtain large amounts of income because there isn’t many good reasons to spend that much yet. Special items right now are helpful, but unneeded to beat challenges. The uneven gold drops are nerfs for the beta stage, and probably will change to an average rate when the game is closer to being finished with more places to explore.
Part of a good game is being screwed with money, to not buy everything in sight and actually make a choice or work to earn what you want. Most loot is a space filler, disigned to be dropped rather than sold. I’m not certain of the filler-loots purpose, maybe it’s suppose to make players spend time at their pack regenerating instead of charging into fighing again and having to run away. The only thing known about the cheap drop items is that they’re not important enough to make a complaint about.
The nerfs being made arn’t helping, but they’re not hurting either. This beta stage is supposed to be slow, and enduring, and full of trials and misplaced advantages, because the game isn’t ready to be too hard yet. The developers might actually thinking of your best interest. You don’t see to many restrictions on gem items, mostly nerfs on gameplay. The developers arn’t creating these “issues” from nowhere, they’re taking your gameplay in consideration, and want it to be the best they can make right now. They don’t want you to be pressured into buying gems, they don’t want to be broke, they don’t want you to be bored, and they don’t want to make a gentle and easy game.
It’s beta. Feedback does the game some good. Balancing, bug fixes, equal gameplay, will all be straightened out over time, when it’s appropriate to do so. Most players already know the game needs it. There are reasons for these things. The developers have ideas too, and it’s most likely they know as much about other games as you do. Maybe more, I don’t know.

If it is free, are you going to place its entrance at the back of the cave that does cost a fee? Looking back at famous cave names, maybe this one could be titled a ‘lair of’ some sort. ’Ever think of adding a sphere boulder to chase players around the passages?

Not all islands are fancy-pancy like those hollywood-built carribean movies. Why would the island in the middle of a storming sea be likely to have trees and landmarks anyway? It’s time to live in the more probable world where treasure is harder to find than under a big W.

It’s nice to see a game without advertisments. But this opinion really doesn’t matter. How revenue is gained is based on the developer’s own reasons. The idea for ads must have been considered. I highly doubt that a few links are close enough to pay for the cost of the game. The price of gems wouldn’t change since the cost is so low to begin with. In everything considered, this is still beta, and it might be a long time before the game is ready to be permanent.

These replies are like when a toddler is trying to put the square block in the triangle hole. The kid doesn’t see the square hole right next to it and you can’t help but watch and feel a little bad for the unnecessary frustration.
