1. Slash (Come On, He Makes His Solos Up When He Plays Live, Genius)
.
Because Slash is the only guitarist to ever improvise solos. Or have you never heard Page do Stairway live. Or SRV do Texas Flood where he flips the guitar behind his back AND improvises the solo. Even Ron Asheton (from The Stooges) made up his own solos, and he never even learned to play guitar.
What a n00b. How can you claim Slash is the only guitarist that can improvise? Most guitarists out there improvise their solos. Go kill yourself for making such a stupid statement.

It´s hard on the internet.
Well in that case, read things properly in the future.
Personally, I think they should be given the right to choose. But…
What does everyone think – do they approve of being forced to know the truth, and what would they rather have – a content life where you do not know the truth, or to know the truth and have it hanging over you like a dark cloud?
I think not knowing is just running away from the problem like coward. I would have a lot more respect for somebody who went to get tested, came back with a terminal illness, and dealt with it, rather than somebody who wouldn’t want to know because they know it would be a burden on their life. I suppose those are just my morals, though. To think everyone does and should think the same way is just ignorant, I guess.
I really do not see any reason why children should be wearing combat camouflage while attending school, unless it’s a military school. All children should wear uniforms to lower school violence.
I hope you are being sarcastic. Half of the camo available to buy is not combat camo. It is useless.
Ok then, any type of camouflage should be banned from school, or at the least discouraged. Why? The simple fact is that any kind of camouflage is not required in a scholastic setting such as grade school, middle school, or high school. That includes hunting camo, military camo, stealth camo, etc.
Children who wear such items do so to present a statement in what they wear, and it can be disruptive to school. Many studies have shown a direct link between school uniforms, lower violence, and a higher level of test scores.
I am not saying that people who wear camo are bad, etc. I am just saying that they should respect their school and wear it outside of school on their own time.
Really? Is it camouflage that’s doing this, or not just regular trends, etc? I think when it comes down to the respect you’re giving to your school, yeah. Over-The-Top overuse of camo would be a bad call, but to say that all of it should be banned because “it is unnecessary in a scholastic setting” doesen’t make any sense.
Children who wear such items do so to present a statement in what they wear, and it can be disruptive to school.
Hmm… Not really. I wouldn’t class camo as “such items” per se, they’re very individualist items of clothing, and I think you’re trying to classify them as a trend, which I totally disagree with. A lot of kids follow trends because if they don’t, all of the other kids will laugh at them, call them names, find them uncool, etc. I find that the kids looking to make a statement are generally the ones with more personality, but unless you know that person, it doesen’t matter, because there’s no true way of telling by appearances. I agree that school uniforms are something kids should definitely wear in school, but every person deserves individualism, no matter where they are. If every single kid in a school were “respective” of the school and dressed the same way, it would be very boring… Children don’t learn best when they are bored, they would probably learn better knowing they have a little more freedom. It’s the small chaotic quirks that I’ve found actually make schools in general a lot more fun and a more enjoyable place in the eyes of students, and the people that impose heavy rules can’t see this, I beleive. In fact, I’d go so far as arguing that because of these rules, kids will wear clothing/accessories deemed unnecessary even more so, to say they’re different. It doesen’t really make a difference in a school- kids are extremely fickle. But there’s nothing really wrong with that- they have their entire life ahead of them to choose what they want to do with it. I too doubt that it will change you drastically as a person if you choose to wear clothing that “makes a statement”, and I don’t beleive that it makes them respect their school any less if they wore it. To be honest, I think that if schools allowed this kind of thing, (to a controlled degree, not going over the top) the students who wear it would probably have more respect for their school rather than less, as you are implying is the case.
I would as well. I’ve heard 3 of Devildriver’s albums, and I’ve heard the whole lot from Lamb, but LoG are generally a lot better and have much more rep behind them than Devil. Although Devil are good as well, I think.
I think it will steadily grow over the next few years, and then reach a peak. After that, it will either stay around the number of this peak or decrease, but it will retain this number for a while before dropping a bit. Nothing is certain, obviously.
If you’re looking to build skill, which is essential for any guitarist, this might be for you.
I started off learning Smells like Teen Spirit, by Nirvana. Don’t get put off or anything if you don’t like it, but it’s easy to play and can help build your skill to something harder quite easily. A lot of Power-Chord influenced stuff like AC/DC worked for me, so I’d start with some of their stuff. Try the rhythms, not the solos… Needless to say. Any song by them will do I say, they’re all quite simple. Of course… provided you get an accurate tab for them and put some effort in. I hope you find this helpful.
Happy songs… Er, Whisky In the Jar by Thin Lizzy? It’s a cool song with some nice Chord progression in it you might find interesting. Let me get you a video.
I tried to find the original, it may be a bit quality lacking, but it works.
Rap was an art form, until some buttcheese ruined it in the ‘90’s.
Oh really? I think what you might be referring to is Hip-Hop, which is yes- much like Rap, but is a different genre. It is something that spurred rap. What’s more, using “buttcheese” to describe somebody you don’t really even know makes you sound like a little kid… No offense.
Now its all about shootin’ poeple up and getting laid.
Oh really? I disagree that ALL of rap is about shooting people up and gettin’ laid, but I’ll agree that the content of the vocals in most rap is very “Gloaty” and has no emotion or meaning. This majority seems like a group of egotistic people trying to impress everyone with what they own or the things they have done in their lives that someow make them higher up in an imaginary social chain they seem to have dreamt up. it’s really quite irritating for me to hear the overuse of beatboxes and synthensizers as opposed to more traditional instruments, like pianos, trumpets, guitars, ect. But I guess that just goes hand in hand with the style of music(Some rap, yes, does use instruments like this, I am speaking for the latter). It’s more generally accepted as a genre too, so I don’t think the style of music itself is going to change any time now. There’s not really any point in complaining why it is bad, there is really nothing that you can do. Rap has a lot of followers, now. But that’s up to them, if they have the personal taste to listen to what you dislike, leave them to it- it isn’t hard to ignore.
I don’t think ALL modern Rap is like this, listen to some of Eminem’s work. Although yes, he can be an ignorant bastard, and generally very offensive, but he actually puts a lot of effort into what he does. A good example of this would the song “Stan”, it breaks away from the stereotype you are blacklisting and in your perspective, is in the same era as rap that you think “BLOWSHARD” and tells a decent story, with lyrics that are understandable. You could argue, that he is in it for the money, but that doesen’t discount that he made at least a couple of good songs which therefore, I think that not “ALL” of modern Rap “BLOWS”.
Really though, it is all down to personal taste. That is mainly why there are so many different genres of music in general.
tell me why you think rap does or doesn’t BLOWHARD!
I don’t think it “BLOWSHARD”, but I don’t like it in general. I like Eminem… Which is considered Rap, but all of the other stuff that I have, or have been forced to hear on the way to school on the bus and in other public instances, is irritating and I don’t like it. The reason mainly, is because I don’t beleive that much emotion in music can be achieved by entirely mixing and processing sound through a computer chip and trying to make everything perfect. Generally, the only aspect of emotion(Which I think is something important for all music.) in Rap can be the lyrics and singing, because the beat in a lot of these rap songs is extremely repetetive, dull and sounds very manufactured. The vocals in my belief, aren’t exactly very passionate, or very creative for that matter, and therefore I don’t like Rap as a genre on the whole. I wouldn’t call it “Singing”, more “Talking” and doesen’t really require much talent to come out with, in my opinion.
Another thing I don’t like about some Rap, is the constant talk about; “Oh yeah, I come from the hood, we so run down, we so poor, shame on those rich bastards” type of garbage it occasionally spews out. I find it ironic that these rappers, who make a lot of money indeed from this, do nothing to actually help or support the “Ghetto’s” that they originally came from and make money from through their music. They are just using their background as an excuse to earn some dough- and screw everyone else. Mind you, not all Rap is like this. I have found, only a small minority is.
In general, I don’t think Rap “BLOWS”, because I’d rather not use it as a part of my vocabulary,(It actually sounds like vocabulary that would be used by a rapper… tbh.) but I don’t like Rap because it always seems to follow the stereotype that it portrays far too often, and pisses me off. I only like the kind of Rap that breaks away from this and plays to my likes, so as a result, due to personal taste, I don’t like Rap. I prefer what I would call “more melodical” music, like Groove Metal.
It’s mainly down to personal opinions and taste. I’m not saying anything I said you should take as fact, but just understand it’s what I beleive. As would many guys I know that like Rap music in general, I have met a lot of nice people that listen to Rap music, and a lot of them came to respect that I wasn’t a fan of Rap very quickly. Not saying that any of you are judging people for who they are by the music they listen to, but if there are people here who do, I just thought I’d throw that one out there.
Overall, I think Rap is Bad. There are some exceptions, though.
Generally Led Zeppelin songs give me the “PUMPED” effect. Whole Lotta Love, Livin’ Lovin’ Maid and songs like that seem to do a really good job of that for me.
another thing for me too. songs like black dog and even dazed and confused get me going.
have i told you i really, really like your music taste?
Flattering. :)
Led Zeppelin’s music altogether is absolutely amazing, and often the type of music that does get you “pumped”. I’m overall not a big “heavy metal” (or metal in general) fan, but Led Zeppelin is definitely one of my favorite bands.
I whole-heartedly agree. Over time, my interests in music became heavier and heavier, I guess you could call me a fully-fledged metalhead or something. But regardless, I never forgot about Led Zeppelin. They are one of those types of bands that if you like, you will probably like them for the rest of your life. Their music is fantastic, and they were all extremely talented musicians. I suppose it’s all about taste, but Zeppelin are, and always have been one of those few bands that “stand out”. They have that something that a majority of bands don’t have.
Millions of deaths from diseases, infections, viruses ect (to build up immunity)… Didn’t think I’d need to spell it out.
What exactly did you mean it for, the aliens or humans?
Its pretty simple, I’m not willing to explain it any further.
…The way you write is very prejudice. You don’t provide enough information to begin with, and presume that everyone will come to the same conclusion as you do. Just give me an answer.
We were talking about how they (the aliens) were killed by bacteria in our atmosphere. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realise that was what my comment was refering to, especially as it was also in my previous sentence. Basically L2Read.
I think you may have gotten some idea that everyone already knows the information you do. I’m not being insulting or anything, I’m just pointing out that you haven’t provided me with enough information to come to a deductive opinion. That’s why I asked to begin with.
Its the bacteria and organisms in our air and all around us. We have paid the price to live here with millions of lives, in a way you could say no death is ever in vain.
