Now let’s see how long until the next “critical issue”. Let’s also note that NO CHANGE has been implemented to the game except for some text during this 2-weeks downtime.

Everyone who still had membership running, just send a message to Kongregate’s support and explain the situation. The game is definitely not coming back, no decent company has a 24+ hours “emergency” maintenance without any update on what’s going on.

On top of all that, 109 is lying to us by not telling they’ve discontinued the game. A total shame for the community or real hard-working developers.

General

  • Warehouse now costs 1 moonstone per deposit or withdrawal of an item, but doesn’t require membership anymore to be accessed.
  • After selecting an mystery prize in the end of dungeon, the other prizes will not be revealed. You can purchase extra prizes for 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 moonstones, increasing with each extra purchased prize.
  • Hard mode runs now refill 1 each day instead of full capacity to prevent people from exploiting us by never buying any overpriced epic item with random crappy stats from extra merchants.
  • To remove confusion about bonus stats on equipment, we’ve hidden all bonuses.

Vampire

1) Magic Swordsman

  • Skills now scale with Magic attack/speed/critical instead of Melee to stay consistent with the name.
  • However, auto-attack damage remains tied to Melee stats.
  • This is made so that more equipment options can be viable for the profession.
  • You can now wield swords as an off-hand.

2) Wizard

  • Immortality’s cooldown has been removed out of combat, but will consume 10 seconds off of all of your buffs to remain consistent.
  • Immortality now scales with Intelligence instead of maximum health.
  • Immortality has been renamed to “Heal”. Let’s be serious for a moment, folks.
  • After all these changes, Heal was considered too powerful and logical and has been removed from the game. Sorry!

Human

1) Crossbowman

  • If a monster runs at you and gets into melee range, you will now use your crossbow as a point blank weapon, slamming enemies in the face, and dealing 10% of your Melee Attack score per hit.
  • In consequence, maximum melee attack speed for Crossbowman is now 1000%.

2) Gladiator

  • Swords having been moved to Magic Swordsmen, you will no longer be able to use them. Instead, to be the real tank you’ve always dreamt to be, you can now dual-wield shields.
  • Therefore, the following skills have been removed: Knee Cutter, Wind Slash, Sword Mastery, Dismemberment, Combat Booster, and Crescent Slash.
  • We’ve added 6 passive skills boosting END, MIND, and VIT, AGI, INT and HP to replace them.

Werewolf

1) General

  • Werewolf characters are now female. MORE BOOBS, YAY!

2) Axe Warrior

  • Maelstrom now lasts 0.2 seconds.
  • All passive stat increases have been halved.

3) Berserker

  • You can now dual-wield shields too if you so wish.
  • Arc Blow now stuns all the targets around you instead of the targeted-by-default enemy, as the description implies.
  • Just kidding, we have no idea how to do that. That’s why we’re not bothering with the other skills that have the same mechanics, such as Great Earthquake or Crescent Slash (that’s also why we removed it from the game; expect Arc Blow and Great Earthquake to be removed soon too, probably in our next patch in 2017)

109 are there sometimes. They seem to have trouble loading the game since I see them log back in and out of the chat a few times before stabilizing. But they’re there for show; they’re not actually there.

Welp, to all of you advocating tooth and claw that 109 is very communicative to the players:

- 109 was apparently sick, whichs explains their absence up until 2 days ago. I have no certainty of this because there’s been no official talk from them ever since, be it on the forums or an ingame announcement of some sort.

- They’ve been back for 2 days now. Have you seen any announcement, update, or even just a message from them? No. Not a single word to the players who have still stuck around. Ironically enough, most of the players who were vehemently defending 109 are now gone. Now that we’ve got rid of the blindly-adulating sheeple, AND IF 109 is really willing to improve the game and their communication, maybe we could get somewhere.

Those 2 points alone prove that the people criticizing the game are the ones who care most about it; sadly, they seem to do so more than the devs do.

- Quick response to Shadow: thank you for proving my point that, just because you’re level 70, you think you know better about mechanics (which, let’s be fair here, the game does not really have an abundance of, and some of the few it has aren’t even working properly) than anybody else around. Also, the clear lack of structure in your post is, just like I said to Killarus (and which, for some reason, has been removed by “a moderator” – at least we can see here that 109 has some time to spend removing what they don’t want other players to see, guess we can call that communication?) makes you look like an angry person who’s so aroused when answering that they don’t even try to be constructive. So if you were trying to make any point other than “look, I’m level 70 so you’re wrong” has flown through the window. The language you threw in here and there finished discrediting you.

Oh, and if you’re wondering why you’re not banned, there are 2 reasons: first, there are no CGU/ToS or whatever for Blue Moon. So, technically speaking, hacking isn’t even bannable. Of course, if 109 decides to ban someone, you still cannot say that they don’t have the right to do so, but again, let’s be fair, which leads to my second point: do you really think 109 can afford to ban 4 players, which is about 20% of their player base? I personally don’t think so.

Just because R2 games are bad doesn’t make every other company’s games good.

Besides, you’re the only one who sees “communication” between players and devs. All I see is the devs posting about so-called balance changes which don’t often make sense, and not even posting about the extra week of delay of this event. Maybe it’s to make everyone forget they ever planned one?

(Presumably) Spending so much money on a game that’s as obviously flawed in its design as its graphics are all about boobs is pretty stupid in the first place, unless you’re just as stupidly rich in which case that shouldn’t matter.

And the attack speed nerf just means you’ll take a little while longer to kill a boss. You can still go to the bathroom between 2 uses of your buffs and not even see the difference in your HP (and now in your opponent’s HP too!)

Not much else to do as a wizard but refreshing buffs and using auto-attacks, though. Occasional blizzard to get rid of regular spawns while fighting a boss and that’s it.

The real problem with this though is not how it’s done, but why they had to do it in such a complicated way. If an item shows Strength: 10 on one line and Strength: +6 on another line, I would, as an avid RPG player, ALWAYS expect those two stats to be independant and to be added to my total. It’s the opposite contrary of lazy coding, it’s adding useless and confusing (mis-)information.

Having to rely on the DPS calculator in the game just to know whether an item is better than another or not is just bad.

Also, @janiye: if you’re going to try and be a smartass, you’re going to have to fulfill the first half of the word. Just being an ass won’t cut it. It doesn’t have to be blue to be added, look at this screenshot.

The armor on the right side has its 32 bonus defense added to the original 38 that level 20 gladiator armor has by default.

Then they should have released the game when it’s fully ready, and not in some early access-like state where the only thing nobody has problems with is the cash shop functions.

Besides, there still are LOTS of BASIC functions that any good game around offers and that this game is crucially lacking, which is a shame when you consider how one-dimensional and mind-numbing this game is.

I’ve been suggesting CITY-wide rewards for winning CITY wars a long time ago, on Edgebee’s forums. You’d think that it would already be there if they cared about making sense and keeping players who’ve got everything and thus have no reason to spend any (more) money on the game.

Topic: Swords & Potions 2 / Power Levelling: A Funky Way to Play This Game

They’ve been lasting 2 hours for quite some time now Fleece.

@ acvd: “strategy” already used by Fiveotanaka quite some time ago, he got to level 75 or so super quick, then left the game because his customers were so heavily underleveled that he couldn’t really do anything with all the stuff he had unlocked.

And oh, the exp curve gets an artificial 150% exp increase at level 50, witness how much slower and painful your leveling is gonna be after that. Then, when you get to the 80+ or 90+ levels, have fun with that as you won’t get any better items that sell for more exp than before, but the requirements are ± 10% higher each level.

Leveling up pre-50 is easy no matter what, as by the time your upgrades are complete, you should kind of already be there.

@ whatabrain: Epic Defender is 40 VP, not 100. You can also win more than one per klash, unlike what you’re saying. And mithril shuriken sucks unless you buy them from WT and have all 3 related racks maxed out – which will just make it unprofitable.
