Topic: Kongregate / OK for Kong games to spam Private Messages?

Thank you all for your responses. I guess I didn’t look hard enough but am happy the community could help me out in that regard. Much appreciated Slots and Thyrael. I hope others who have similar inconveniences can find this forum.
As for games who do this: You aren’t making MORE friends, you’re making less.

Topic: Kongregate / OK for Kong games to spam Private Messages?

Recently I’ve been spammed by a certain Kong game, Game of Thrones Ascent, with highly useless information about participating in events of theirs. I’m not really sure why or how this started, but do not plan on ever playing their game.

Maybe I’ve missed some way to turn off private messages from games, but this is rather annoying. I don’t play here as often as i used to, and I’ve noticed Online Player numbers not being as high as they used to, so little annoyances like this are a perfect excuse to entertain the idea of just not logging on any more.

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Remnants of Skystone] What happened to Remnants of Skystone?

In response to why Remnants of Skystone wasn’t kept up to date…

My educated guess is they lost a lot of employees who did development work and found a market in the papa’s games they are currently making, (Which required much less effort and money to create) so they stuck with that. They probably felt the Remnants of Skystone market wasn’t very big or worth the money based on their first attempt, and ditched it.

This will kick FliplineStudios in the butt when another company comes along and figures out how to make money off this game type and produces it. It’s only a matter of time…unfortunately us gamers just have to wait it out.

I would advise continuing to voice your opinion on how much you enjoyed this game. It will be redone, but most likely when another company realizes there’s a market for it and has the revenue to invest on a team worthy of rebuilding it.

FliplineStudios had a great start. It’s too bad they didn’t keep at it and kept so quiet after they stopped. They will be looked down upon from the community interested in this game for keeping their mouths shut.

Thanks Ilmapallo.
That really is too bad. I hope another company will notice how popular this game was and try to scoop it up for a revamp. I’m guessing flipline doesn’t have enough revenue to support a dev team big enough to make the changes needed. I just can’t accept that there is more money in the papa series than this.

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Remnants of Skystone] What happened to Remnants of Skystone?

I’ve been looking for quite a bit to find out why this game stopped being updated. I have yet to find an actual answer other than speculation.
I may be looking in the wrong spots, I may have not looked long enough, but I still would really like to know the reason.
If anyone has information on what happened to cause Remnants of Skystone to stop being developed, maintained, updated, whatever, I’d love to know.

I enjoyed this game quite a bit and can’t understand why it has not been picked up. There is enormous potential here and to just drop it seems like a loss of what could be lots of money for a company, and a great potential for a thriving community.

There are no computer enemies past level 150 so growth becomes much more difficult after that point.

Because tournaments appear to be down altogether, I’m still holding out hope that the data from the ones in progress was retained; if not, I’m in the same boat as you; 20k down and nothing to show for it.

Yup sounds about right. I’m sure quite a few people are in this situation.

Topic: GemCraft Labyrinth / Suggestion: "Duplicate Here" Command

Didn’t back read other than the OP post, so sorry if I missed someone else’s input.

This idea sounds great really. I have been in that situation in other games where those few seconds make or break your strategy completely making it different or much more difficult to pull off. These small shortcuts definitely improve certain or specific battles and strategies by far. I’ve been in the situation where I wanted to build an identical gem but didn’t have the time to build, place, and wait for it to activate if I had taken those steps. The more hot keys involved, the better the experienced players can combine their strategies with the maps. I love replaying maps and using different and irregular strategies. This would also greatly help make these more enjoyable as well. Obviously this is not a necessity, but it would create a bit more versatility for the experienced.

These are by far my favorite Tower Defenses since the series started and just giving input on how to potentially increase enjoyment for some of the more long term players.

_ Thanks for ruining the story + my life, man…

Nah I’m kidding. I never read much into the story anyway, I just love the TD as is. Nice to finally understand what’s going on though.

Topic: GemCraft Labyrinth / Point of amplifiers and traps?

Traps can be good for mana farms, poison works well too. I’m sure there are other practical applications. I haven’t messed around with amplifiers yet. Maybe when I get a bit further into the game.

Topic: GemCraft Labyrinth / remmber when flash games were free

Just cuz I can…here’s my 2c.

Been playing the gem craft games since the first one (like that was a long time ago or something). I’ve never once been disappointed. I started playing this one to find that not 100% of the content was free. I checked to see what WAS free and realized it was basically the entire game. Being somewhat of a perfectionist, I was a bit put off when I saw I could not have it all for free. That said, I realized I’d never 100% finish this game nor have I finished 100% of the others.

This got me thinking. I’ve never really paid for any Kong games. There are people who put a ton of time and effort into these things I enjoy so much. On top of this I’ve recently seen the work people like them put into making these games and completely understand why they would want to start charging a small amount of money for the “extra” features. They aren’t even really all that extra because the typical gamer would never reach that point in the first place unless you were really into these types of games. Only a fan of these games would play to that extent.

I guess what I’m getting at is the game is free! You can play it just about fully. Why you cry? The premium seems to be for the fans who love this game and want to support it. For that donation they SHOULD get extra features. For those who don’t want to spend a tiny bit for a game they enjoy…that’s fine! Play the free content as it’s most of the game. Just pretend the premium stuff isn’t there. You’ll never notice it’s locked.

I see this the way I see almost any game. If I enjoy it enough to want that premium content or support the creators, I’ll buy it. If not, I’ll play what’s free.

On a side note, I HATE the ads before games. get these stupid ads out of the game intros, or at least make them about game related things. The portal commercial is great! It’s about a great game and has a skip feature. This stupid mountain island floating toward some corporate business HP whatever commercial BS which is unskippable really pisses me off.

But that has nothing to do with this game, just wanted to get it out there.

Thanks, that’s my 2c. Back to playing GemCraft Labyrinth!

Topic: Serious Discussion / Cyber-Bullying

Sorry for not back reading, I was too lazy

As a person who Mods an online child’s game, I’ve seen many children who cyber bully and who are bullied. Most of these kids who are bullied would just like friends, which I completely understand. They put up with these bullying sessions so they can feel part of a group. As far as the children who do the bullying, they all seem to want to be top dog, if you will. Why they want this? I can only assume. From my experience they have this learned behavior from friends at school, their parents have been verbally/physically abusive but instead of the child turning inwards, they react in a hostile way against others, or they have the “football daddy” complex meaning their parents push them to an almost psychologically abusive extent to excel in what they do. Don’t take my word for this, however. Just my thoughts and ramblings about the subject. Personally I think parents are too high strung and shouldn’t be raising their children in such conditions…this takes me way off topic, however, to how some (people, jobs, companies, countries) work much harder and get paid much less than they deserve which makes ends harder to meet causing stress which obviously can’t be taken out on your boss, so your spouse and children get the brunt of it. Of course this is only one example of many. Anyway, how I see it is that this has a lot to do with learned behaviors in one way or another…this goes for both sides, the bullied and the bully.

Topic: General Gaming / [Cursed Treasure: Don't Touch My Gems!] why is it no# 1 when there are alot of games on kong like this?

I have to agree with most of darkwarrior’s comment. My view of the game is it’s highly enjoyable to the masses. This takes certain highly rated aspects of TDs and combines them in a way which makes you feel you have skill when you really don’t. (not saying people who go for all perfects don’t have skill, but..) A high rated game comes from one which has aspects that delight the majority of players. This game does just that. It’s fun, colorful, sounds for the most part are catchy and entertaining, creeps are unique to a sense of difference yet not so much that it matters, maps shift to cause change in strategy, some difficulty in later levels yet the ability to build up strengths and overcome tougher aspects…This game definitely deserves it’s rating if you ask me.
I’ve played a ton of tower defenses, and it’s not always the toughest or easiest which I enjoy most. It’s the one I enjoy most which I enjoy most. This is a TD I enjoy. I don’t enjoy it because it’s tough. I don’t enjoy it because it’s easy or predictable or has upgrades…I enjoy it because it puts some of my favorite aspects of games together in a way in which I find satisfactory. These sorts of games don’t need to be tough, easy, simple, complex, or balanced even to be fun. They just need to be fun and this definitely hits that spot for me (as from the rating, most would agree).

That being said, A late Congrats! to the team and I can only hope to see games like this in the future.

Topic: Anti-Idle: The Game / Anti-Idle: The OFFICIAL thread

Maybe I didn’t read the whole tutorial, maybe I didn’t read the whole 780+ pages of this forum, but when has 900 seconds of buff EVER equaled 6-7 minutes (roughly 420 minutes) of buff? Maybe this is because I use Firefox, maybe not. This should be fixed, however. Please, if I’m wrong let me know. I watched the timer tick down at least twice as fast as it should have.
