Topic: Game Programming / Games not playing in IE Flash Player 9

Ok here is a strange problem, we created a game called Diamond Disco Danceoff which is currently on Kong: http://www.kongregate.com/games/kokodigital/dia…

The game itself is built in Flash CS3 using AS3. We have uploaded the game and noticed a problem. The game works fine in both Firefox and IE that use Flash Player 10 and also in Firefox with Flash Player 9, however the game falls over in IE with Flash Player 9. It just won’t load.

We were not too sure if the problem was with the game, we drilled down throught he Kong source files to locate the actual SWF and when we find it it works fine in IE with Flash Player 9.

We feel it has something to do with the way that Kong is placing the SWF ino the page, but need to find out whether it is something that we need to change in our game or if its a Kong problem.

Has anybody else experienced this problem or know what could be causing it?? We are getting concerned with this. Any help is appreciated, eith reply to this thread or to me on stu@kokodigital.co.uk

Cheers
Stu

PLEASE NOTE – The SWF works fine in IE FP9 it is just when it embeds into Kong’s placement.

Make sure you are removing any event listeners or objects that are no longer in use as this will clog up your memory. A link to the game would help to see what the problem could be.
