I didn’t get the daily reward today (a glory pack) even though it showed the poppup saying that I did (no packs were actually added).

Topic: Clash of the Dragons / Playing cards without getting a closeup

I’ve just started playing the game, and I’ve very quickly grown tired of my card popping up in front of the screen every time I want to use it. While I appreciate the description and flavor text, and I do want to see it at some point, I don’t want it there for every turn. It slows the game down quite a bit, which I don’t like. I would like to be able to, say, hold shift while I click to skip that screen. Is there some sort of solution hidden in the setting somewhere?

Topic: Remnants of Skystone / Mission bug

Actually, I think this “last enemy localizer” in some form or another would be a good NG perk. Specifically, people can do perfectly well without it, it dosn’t yield a significant advantage, and yet it is fairly desirable.

Topic: Remnants of Skystone / Abandoing Quests

I was wondering what happens when you abandon certain quests after you have partially completed them.

Examples:
Say you abandon one of the “find spice jar” quests after you found the jar but before you brought it back to the quest giver. If you come back on a later day and take the quest again, can you get the spice immediately? If so, can you go find another jar anyway?

If you have a quest like “fixing rope”, where you have to go through an area and kill all of a certain type of creature (each one you kill drops a certain item, in this case rope), and you abandon it partway, when you come back and retry the quest, which of the following will be true:
1) You no longer have the rope you already collected,
2) The rope you have is useless and you have to collect everything again, so when you finish the quest you will have additional rope,
3) The creatures you killed before don’t spawn anymore, so you just have to kill the remaining ones,
4) Some of the creatures (may not be the ones you killed) don’t spawn any more, so you have to find the ones that did spawn and kill them, or
5) All the creatures spawn but you only need to kill enough of them to collect enough rope to finish the mission.

If I have a quest where I get a machine die, but I abandon it, can I still use the die?

Topic: General Gaming / Game idea feedback + suggestions

The thing is, what I am aiming for is a “lets figure out who our enemies are” feel. So the battle system has to somehow be more reflexive of how many people are on each side and what items people have.

The 3 lives idea was the best I could come up with; basically, it gives people time to run down and help in the fight without making it take 2 long (so killing someone would take 4 turns, or 2 min.)

Also, stamina doesn’t work the way you described. Remember, stamina is very easy to get back.

One more thing. Making people need weapons to attacks cuts down on random violence. Which is good, because again, I wanted this game to be more about deliberation and trying to figure out who is who rather then fighting.

P.S. Have you heard of the card game mafia? If so, thats essentially what type of game I want.

One more time, suggestions and feedback are welcome.

I would especially appreciate weapons which can have a non-weapon role.

Also, if you post items, post a use also.

Abilities + starting items

Some of the people have abilities. They can also start with items. For instance, there may be a thief (can open doors and see concealed items), who starts with a lockpick.

Notice that the evil people may have such abilities also, so an ability is not proof of being good.

People can also start knowing one or more innocent people. For example, person 1 could start the game knowing that person 2 is good (they would get a message from the system, person 2 would be highlighted in green on the screen of person 1, etc.)

Attacking and Stamina

First, stamina. Stamina depletes as you do actions. If you wish, or if you have no stamina left, you can/must take a turn to rest; t hat regenerates stamina. Characters who are wounded or carrying heavy objects have stamina deplete faster. Stamina is also used for attacking.

Fighting works as follows:

A player with a weapon may use their action to attack someone else. The first attack does no damage, but they are then locked into the battle. It also interups whatever the person had been doing that turn. They cannot run away. If the attacker continues the attack, the defender loses 1 life (out of 3). The attacker may also choose to cut of the battle (if he so wishes). However, that takes a turn also.

Attacking wastes stamina. Defending neither regenerates nor depletes stamina. IF THE ATTACKER IS OUT OF STAMINA, THE DEFENDER MAY RUN AWAY.

If the defender has a weapon, they may counter-attack. If that happens, both players lose life the next turn. However, the only person who can end the battle is still the attacker (unless someone dies; then it ends automatically).

One may not attack someone who is in a battle. However, they may join one or the other side; they may not lose life or deal damage, but the side with more people is the only one that may deal damage. In other words, if three people are on one side and two people is on the other side, the side with three people will be the only one dealing damage.

In case of a tie, things proceed normally.

In case the defender has more people on his side then the attacker, the attacker is disarmed, the defender gets the weapon, and the battle ends. No damage is dealt to the attacker.

Premise of the game

A group of people are stuck in a mansion (each person is a player). They want to get out, but have no idea where the exits are. Several of the people are evil (lacking any better ideas, let us say that they are possessed by evil spirits), whose goal is to kill everyone else, and they do have a map. Nobody knows which people are evil (except the evil people all know each other).

The mansion is divided into square rooms; each room has one or more doorways leading to other rooms.

People can only interact when they are in the same room. People can see others who are in the same room or any connected room.

There are two types of interactions: talking, and doing stuff. Talking can be done at any time, at no cost. Only people who are in the same room as you or in a connected room can hear you. Doing stuff consists of taking an action every 30 seconds (everyone goes at the same time).

The mansion has many traps, so the evil people don’t necessarily have to kill everyone themselves; they can just lead people into traps.

There are also weapons and items scattered around the house. Weapons can be used to attack someone; more on that later.

Items and weapons are either small enough to conceal or not. If not, then anyone you pass will see that you are carrying the weapon/item in question. Also, some items cannot be moved; say, a switchboard which controls the lights0.

All items/weapons can be given to someone else (though they may choose not to take it, of course), They can also be dropped.

I am planning on making a game and would like feedback and suggestions regarding weapons/items/abilities.

I’m going to try to keep this thing updated, so if someone submits something I may use, I’ll ad it to one of the lists.

Come on! I know the game is coming out when it is “ready and bug-free”, and I know they don’t have an exact date. I want to know when we can expect it to come out. They should have a rough idea. Will it be a month or two or is it expected to remain in beta up to 2010?

It looks like Remnants is coming out of Alpha.

About how long will the beta phase last? I want to play it, but I don’t particularly like beta testing.

Wow.

That was a very nice speech. I know I personally probably wouldn’t have had the guts to post something like that.

Religion isn’t only about believing in god; it is also about being a good person. In fact, I’ve always felt that way too much emphasis is put on the former and too little on the latter.

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Kongai] My suggestions for Kongai

1) is a bad idea. It would take away a lot of depth. It’s normal that you win some games that you should have lost and you lose some that you should have won; it evens out. Nobody gets lucky 100% of the time.

2) You would just get a more complicated game. You wouldn’t want to play RPS with 1000 states, would you? It would be much better to increase breadth by adding more cards.

3) That would just ruin things. The fun is in collecting cards

4) YES.

5) Good Idea, I agree. Except the kreds part, that really isn’t necessary.
