As is I have played with both blue’s steal everything strategy and pretty much every green strategy imaginable. I feel the steal-all decks are a bit overpowered right now. I think that most top players are blue players for good reason. It wouldn’t be fair to blue to have a “Moat” type card that stops all stealing… I just see a statistical advantage to blue right now. Perhaps it will be tweaked in the future.

I just think that it’s harder for Green to tailor a deck against stealing overall.
I think you misunderstood Dungeon or I didn’t explain it well.

It is solely to stop your cards from being stolen from bank, deck, hand and from play. It does not cause immortality.
Also as an ally it can be tithed and spy networked. It actually works well with these two cards.
In order for ally decks to be useful (and thus SN and Tithe) against a blue thieving deck, you have to play allies, which is kind of impossible when they steal half your cards. In order for Dungeon to not be overpowered, I included a “jail break” side effect: You get damaged if you don’t have skulls.

Abbey’s price could be changed. I just think having a little fort that makes magic the more faith allies you have the better might be kind of interesting. I say this as someone who has found Holy Wrath decks a bit ineffective when compared to other green strategies.

I’m glad people think Duke is interesting. Dividing its powers into two cards would work for me, but I like the idea that Duke can decide when serfs make food each turn and when they militarize. It adds a new dimension to green strategy. It would of course be expensive.

Sorry about Festival being used already. I got it confused with Feast. Change it to Tournament or Faire. Now that I think of it, it’s a bit too powerful.

Pillage is just a strong Embargo. I can see why it makes sense to have a stronger embargo on top of bureaucrat but I probably wouldn’t rush to use it.

These cards mix things up a bit for green and their opponents… I think they’d be fun to experiment with.

Power:
Dungeon – 3 HP – Cost 10
While dungeon is in play, cards cannot be stolen from your deck, removed from your bank, or taken out of play.

Dungeon costs 1 skull to maintain each turn. If player does not have 1 skull, Dungeon delivers damage to its owner equal to its health and is returned to your deck.

Prosperity:
Festival – Duration 3 Turns – Cost 12
+1 Gold for every Prosperity card played while Festival is in effect

Faith:
Abbey – 3 HP – Cost 12
+1 Magic per Faith ally in play

War:
Duke – 2 HP – Cost 11
When Duke is in play, Serfs generate +1 food each.
A Duke can turn a serf into militia, or a militia into a serf.
No serfs in play, +1 Gold per turn.

Topic: War of Omens / Faction Idea

I think this would be a cool AI hero or campaign thing. I’m not sure how it could grow as an entire faction.
I have also been thinking of cards that work with other cards and opponent actions in an interesting way.

As long as there are game balance problems there should be free concessions.
It’s like poker, except some people have naturally better cards.

Topic: War of Omens / Update History [Last update: 3/31/2014, Gold packs]

We can apply logic to card changes here:

1. People shouldn’t post games to Kong with the intent to charge money if they aren’t finished, so that people who spend money can maximize their investment.

or

2. Games that have in-game purchase features should continue to change. New content can be added, which might require balances and reshaping of old content to make the new content fit.

Which universe would you prefer to live in?

Topic: War of Omens / Opinions and feedback

As of yet I cannot see any benefits from having a lot of expensive cards.
The combinations I’ve found that work are those that can deal with thieving cards from opponents (resource generation cycling cards) and quick deployment strategies.
There are few benefits to building up to those 12+ coin cards unless you’re talking about a long game of attrition where those expensive cards will break the balance.

I too play Listrata… By far the most valuable card I’ve found in terms of “nailing it in the coffin” is Benediction (11). I’ve found it far more useful and deadly than Merchant (12) and Bishop (12), and Bishop runs the chance of being stolen by Blue, at which point you’re basically screwed.

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain that. Totally clear. I appreciate it.

Topic: Crazy Fairies / How does delay work exactly, am I missing something?

I have been trying to figure out what determines player sequence from round to round. I get that cards cause delay, but the delay number doesn’t really seem to influence whether or not I have a double-turn. Sometimes my delay is higher at the start of a round than my opponent and I’ll have 2 turns in a row.

Do different weapons influence delay at all?
What do the different colors of the delay indicator represent?
Does walking during your turn increase delay next round?

If this has been clearly defined somewhere, my apologies, I looked across all 4 pages of forums.

I love adventure games, I think they’re a dying breed, but a few really simple interface changes would make this easier. Easier to interact and pick things up, the ability to “walk away” from a conversation without having to click around… Just basic navigational issues like this. It is beautifully rendered, and despite some glaring grammatical oddities, is well written and conceived. I enjoy stuff like this and look forward to updates.

I agree. Not much of a roguelike… Roguelikes have more depth, options for gameplay, areas to explore in general, and quirky subtleties that make each one unique. The only similarities here are a lot of classes and a D&D-ish theme. But this is an MP arcade game and not much more.

Topic: Elements / There are many reasons why Elements SUCKS.

I find the balance of this game to be incredibly well thought out.
Of course some elements have Aces that will trump other assortments.

The Otyugh is a great card, the one you mention, as are many others. A mind flayer takes the heat off of those, so will many other cards played in correct order (too many to mention). I personally find death by poisoning to be frustrating, or time reverse, or any number of things that are WEAKNESSES in whatever deck I’m using.

Sometimes you lose, you just have to keep tinkering until you get the highest win ration possible.
