Looking for assistance
I am currently working on a choose your own adventure game I am planning to release in around a month. I am planning to complete it on my own, but I am in a situation where some outside help would speed up the development process. I’m stuck in North Africa for the remainder of the month so programming is slooooowwww going.
What I am looking for is a programmer to help me put together some things like a basic shooting engine, and a basic escape the room puzzle for my game.
I could also use the help of an artist to produce backgrounds and additional characters (for crowds). I already have templates for both, and it would be little more than changing colors and slightly altering design to create diversity. I’m sure I could think up something beefier for any one enthusiastic to help.
Here is a trailer for the game ive just released that includes only ingame assets:
http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/538925
I realize the animation is a bit clunky, but all I have over here is a netbook.
If anyone is interested, or would like to know more: message me, or email me at themorosoph@gmail.com
Best,
Duffalpha

Flash design on a netbook
Hey, thanks for the feedback guys.
I think I might give it a try.
I have access to 8 as well as CS4…
Do you think I would notice significantly higher performance with 8?

Ive been trapped in Nepal with nothing but a netbook for the last few months. Does anyone know if its possible to install CS4 and run it smoothly enough to develop on a netbook?

Project in development needs additional team members!
Hey Scrap,
I think I can definitely come up for some things for you to work on. Your vegetation is definitely good enough for me. Haha. Obviously what I’m working on is a little more desert oriented, and simple…. So things would be less alive, and wouldn’t need the textures you’ve put into this. I also saw the picture you sketched of a Lamborghini. I’m going to eventually need a vehicle or two, as well as some concepts of other mechanical objects/buildings. Even if I just get a scanned sketch, I can trace it in flash, using your concept and maintaining my artistic theme at the same time.
Off topic a little bit! I was in Bergen a couple of years ago, its an awesome town. A lot of my family is from Alesund and Bud!
Anyways, if your interested in helping out send me an email and I can give you a project… so to speak.

BTW: How do you post images straight onto the page?
-Thanks

Alright. I pulled a few screens quick and dirty, so you can get an idea where I am.
Please take into consideration that these are NOT done. There are no hands. A lot of details haven’t been added yet. The backgrounds are preliminary… etc
Hahah
Anyways here we go.

I’ll upload some higher quality ones soon in my main post, but hopefully this gives you an idea.
As for Aerostat! Do you do sound effects, as well as music? I would love to talk to some people about composition work, but it would difficult before finishing at least an alpha of the game.

I appreciate your interest man, but as far as writing goes I am completely finished. Dialogue, story, atmosphere and all that jazz are already pretty well pinned down.

Hey thanks for the feedback.
Thats definitely the plan. I’ve seen projects like this fall apart before, so I’m going to make sure every part of it can continue with just me. That way if everyone involved bails, I’m not at all set back. I figure its important to have a lead guy who understands how every part of the game works, so when someone drops they can piece it together!

Project in development needs additional team members!
Let me start off by saying this: I have been working on this game for about a month now. I am completely capable of finishing it on my own, and with time I will! I’m not an “Idea man”. Im not trying to shanghai my way into a team where you do all the work, and I get all the glory! I am both an artist and a programmer, as well as a musician to some extent!
That being said.
I’m currently working on a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure style flash game. It will be story driven, and based around moral choices the player makes. Almost to the point of being an interactive movie. The first episode that I am working on now will have several choices, interactive quick-time events, an escape the room level, and it will culminate with a shoot-out!
The character design is complete already, and several scenes of dialogue and combat are already finished! Unfortunately the entire process is terribly time consuming!
What I’m looking for is a few people to help me finish more quickly. Anyone willing to help would be credited, and given a portion of the ad revenue relative to their contribution!
I can use people of any skillset!
I need a CODER to help flush out the engine for the shooting scene, or maybe help with the escape the room scene.
Even more-so I could use help from an ARTIST.
-Environmental art (Backgrounds, Mountains, Trees, Caves)
-New Character Design (I already have a few character models that would need to be altered so that they resemble new characters)
-Animation (Fights can take forever to choreograph alone!)
This is an awesome project for someone with experience to hone their skills, or someone new to get some direction. Any level of skill can give it a shot, as long as you can handle criticism!
If you have any questions, are interested, or just wanna flame me: go ahead and reply here or send me a whisper! Thanks.

Coder looking for work.
Im working on a story based, choose-your-own-adventure game right now. I need some help putting together a “escape the room” style level. And near the end I’m going to need a basic shooting engine. If you have any experience, or want to help put these together, send me a message. I would be glad to include you in the credits and share revenue if any substantial moolah was generated.

Looking for artists to help with specific task.
I’m working on a game right now, and I’ve managed character models from the front and side. Unfortunately I’m not talented enough to pull of a convincing 3/4s view. The sort of combination of side and front view that is most commonly seen.
I’m looking for someone to help me do that. I can send them what I have so far, and they can try to put it together. You definitely be credited in the final game! And the help would be much appreciated. Let me know if anyone is interested!

Reusing Armatures/Skeletons?
Yea Ive definitely done that. But animating with all of the different symbols stuck together with the bone tool is so much faster. It works perfect in the movie clip or scene I assemble the skeleton in, but I can’t find a way to save the skeleton so I can re-use it. You can save movie clips, graphics etc in the library as everyone knows. I just cant figure out how to save an armature so that I can copy-paste my character model with a skeleton into new scenes/movieclips.

Reusing Armatures/Skeletons?
I realize this isnt explicitly a programming question, but It seemed like the best place to go.
Ive made an skeleton of one of my characters in an animation im doing. Is there any way to save the armature or the skeleton and reuse it later? Whenever I drag it from the library it pops up in the scene as its pieces, not a IK’d object. You cant copy and paste the frames containing it because they are part of an armature. Any ideas?

Project looking for environment artist!
Heya!
Im currently working on a flash game to be released on the site somewhat soon. I intend for it to be a story based, choose your own adventure type game with lots of action. Im doing character models, and animation by myself. But to speed the process up I could use some help with environments and backgrounds IE a huge valley, inside an abandoned mine, etc.
If there are any artists keen to this kind of work who looking to get their names on a project I could more than use the help. Of course any help would be credited in the game, along with a link to your profile or portfolio. I can’t offer any compensation right now, but if the game is successful or a sequel is made I can provide tips accordingly.
If your interested post here, or send me a whisper.
Cheers

Quicktime events
Im trying to make scenes in a game similar to quicktime events in other games. What is the simplest way to achieve this using actionscript? Set it up so that when the player pushes down on a key it causes a gotoandplay? Does anyone know of some good resources to learn the technique needed?

Sound engineer, music producer, looking for some activity
And yea, if your looking for any old project, I’ve just started working on a game. Almost a choose your own adventure story, with interactive action. Im looking for a musician to help compose or provide a brief clip that can be used for combat. As well as a sort of epic fanfare for when the main characters overlook a vista and the main menu comes up. I don’t have any money for compensation, but if the game has any success being sponsored I could certainly tip then.

Well thats a pretty amazing song for a game. What capacity are you looking to work on a project? Composing new stuff? Are you looking for compensation? Or what kind rather
