ok i am royally stumped atm, all of my ideas for games are being shot down for one reason, i cannot draw/animate/create anything more than a stick figure (a bad one at that)

now i can do all the programming and assembling but i will need you to do almost all of the art.

the main perk to this is you can come up with the game ideas, if its within my abilities(which i will admit are not god like) then i will start making it and telling you what is req.

Also all the profit will be 50/50.

so please respond, i want to do more than stick figure dumbness lol.

ok this is a game that i play on my other forum and is the greatest thing in the world, basically you post funny stuff to make others laugh and if you laugh while reading this thread you lose (not that it really matters) and to keep with kongregate forum rules, work safe only. also do not quote pictures, that gets annoying seeing the same pic 90000000 times.

Topic: Collaborations / PLEASE READ. I've always wanted to be a dev...

honestly the best way to start to program is to do all the pre-programming parts on paper. you know write stories, make concepts, draw some concept art, think of possible problems and resolutions ect ect. then you can share this with friends they can nit pick it and such. and in the end these ideas will lead no where BUT once you are able to think and create like that the scripting is easy. now i have done c++, java, and flash and really they are very simple once you can think in the right manner.

i would also suggest getting right into it. learning something is a lot easier when you fiddled a bit with it before hand, such as before i learned a thing about flash i got macromedia flash and just clicked on stuff, and when i finally got around to learning it, i had somewhat of an understanding.

the only real skill needed in any programmer is time and patience. and when you make that first game as crappy as it may be, the second will come easier.

like others have said go and watch tutorials and such and you will see it really is not as hard as you would think.

wow i really wish i could work on this with you, but alas i have work and my own project lol. maybe in a month or so when i finish up my project and have a bit more time but as of now i cant.

ok now i am able to work in flash but as far as art and music creation goes i am completely inept. so here is what I’m asking, as i work through the game i will need some art work and music, all of those who contribute will be placed in the credits and depending on level of contribution i will share the revenue that this game earns, i will edit this post as i get art or need art. i can edit the images for my purposes such as animating and kill effects ECT, so do not worry about making that if you do not want to, if i need help editing an image ill post. Thanks in advance.

To give you an idea of what game you are animating for here is a general idea. Dark Apprentice(idea for name, will take better ideas lol)

ok the game plot is simple, Satan has taken you on as his apprentice and has given you 2 abilities, the ability to oversee a part of land like a god, and the ability to blow things up with your mind. But before he will teach you any more you must prove yourself evil enough for him by going out into the world and blowing up stuff.

the gameplay is really simple, you are show a section of land that things (cute bunnies, people, angels, it varies depending on the level) and you must click on them to cause them to explode. kill enough things within the time limit you win, sounds simple right, well in the higher levels things get faster and more scarce and you have to kill more.

There will also be boss battles, but i wont go into describing that now.

Creatures:

Bunny: i need a few diff pics with bunny, one running and one sitting looking at screen. Please make simple and small, as there will be many of them on screen at once, and make them as cute as possible as it will be more fun to blow them up.

Ants: now im sure i could make this but not very well, so i will leave this up to you guys also. i want them to look like kongregate ants.

Backgrounds: i need a forest background, and an anthill background.

MUSIC:any music or sound effects you want to contribute is welcome NO COPYRIGHTED STUFF!!!!!

Other: Preloader image: now i have one of these already in progress so i dont NEED one but if you can make a better one ill take that.

Evil Hand: this will be for the cursor, a cool evil hand would be nice but if none are presented i will make one myself (yes it will suck)
