i should’ve mentioned that i hate the genre pop-punk as a whole. imo, there is nothing good about it. i respect that you have different tastes than me, but i just hate every band that is labeled as ‘pop-punk’ (and not because it is called pop punk)

If it makes it any better, the whole synth thing I was talking about really does make it a different sound. Even though I don’t think it’s your favorite style anyways, check out the Fixed At Zero album. It’s pretty diverse, and isn’t really just the generic pop-punk.

So, there’s this semi-new band (I think they were on Warped Tour last year, so they’re not super new) that I really love called VersaEmerge.

In the vein of bands like Paramore and Hey Monday, they are a female fronted pop-punk band. I would describe them as having a little bit more of a progressive sound though, as they use a bit of synth.

The lead singer, Sierra Kusterbeck, is a really good singer. I know this won’t really seem to be a good indicator of anything, but while I can sing along to most Paramore songs, I run of out breath trying to sing along to a lot of VersaEmerge’s song. Their guitarist Blake Harnage is also a good singer, and the two of them harmonize together well. As a side note, he is also the one who programs the drums, as they don’t have a drummer for the album recordings.

Their first full album came out only a couple of months ago, and before that, they just had 3 EPs out. I’m also fairly certain their first tour has just started.
