I’ve had the same thing happen, he didn’t necessarily miss. He could have also had highish ping, and stun wasn’t delivered to server till after bullets were released from server.

STILL not kabam’s fault though.

I think sprites are easier, and give more/better UT gear. Rack up that pet food! Snake pit UTs suck, only 100-200 feed, sprite UTs start at 200 from the minions, and go to +500 when you get planewalker (awesome item!) and EP staff (decent item but mostly pet food).

The only benefit to snake pits is the treasure rooms, which can let you get more pots per dungeon…

Actually its not just when you leave your vault, it disappears after a certain amount of time also.

I’ve been asked to write one for iron wolf.
Defending with Iron Wolf
Iron wolf has crappy energy regen but good DPS and has a shield that makes you invincible and heals allies. It can also deflect incoming bullets. This makes it great at several things: You can be a portable depot for your allies, you can block turrets, and best yet, you can block the core pretty well and shoot through it with lasers and missiles while leaving spinning claw cannons around it.

I don’t usually play defense with iron wolf because I think it is best in an offensive support role, but by using your shields you can save many turrets and structures while melting people with lasers and harassing with missiles. You generally don’t want claw cannons unless you are going all offense for some reason, they are mostly good against structures.

For defense I would recommend first lasers to kill drones better, then shield to defend turrets and heal allies. After that it depends on if you need to kill people faster or heal faster which you do next. I usually go 242424 or something, and upgrade differently if I am chasing someone and want stronger missiles for instance.

Because you can heal yourself, but cant chase people that well (because you burn so much energy with your lasers) It is best if you defend from one spot and only chase a little. If you go back to their depot you are not playing good defense.

Offense/Support with Iron Wolf
You still want lasers first, as they are great for firing through 2 big drones at once, or shooting through allies and your drones at enemy targets. In addition, Iron Wolf can shoot through walls with the lasers, so a good strategy for structures is drop 2 or 3 claw cannons and then get behind a wall and laser, then you can use shield if someone defends. Hopefully you brought Deport because you can use it to get home safe no matter what.

Where Iron Wolf shines best though, is using a straight shooter like Ant, Squid, Undo, or whatever to do the damage on a structure while you behind the wall laser, then you can both heal up in the shield and go to the next target. This works for all batteries, and lasers outrange flame turrets so you are fine there as well. The hardest part is getting your team to realize you are pretty much a portable depot and damage dealing machine, and to use you as such.

Here’s a nice Iron Wolf win. I only got one mad doctor I think, even though everyone was in my shield constantly and I hypercooled it. But I am still happy with the amount of ass I kicked.

I’m not too sure myself on AF vs Flame turrets, but I think AF’s Vorpal burners has a bigger cone area, as I’ve tried to shoot slightly to the side and I was able to hit the flame turrets without it hitting me.

Shino can also do the Jabber boomerblade. As long as nobody attacks you… you’re free to do it.

ANT has a distance improvement based on the level. At lvl 2, it has the same range as the rainmaker, lvl 3 outranges it. (This is what I think Undu needs in terms of a nerf IMO).

AF level 1 burners doesn’t outrange, af level 3 burners does outrange.

Lol So I read SOME of this, and I don’t think the reason people play the game and then leave has much to do with ship balance. It’s because the tutorial sucks, matchmaker sucks, and people are dicks.

From max range you do that anyway at level 3 vorpedos.

One more tip, your SS laser can shoot through walls also, and is rangey enough to kill turrets through walls at level 1.

As for turbo hawk, you’re dumb, it can outrange flame turrets easily.

EDIT:

I guess everything else you said was pretty accurate, though squid can do amazing at turret killing with a little help:
Level up acid first, then when a drone gets (or ally) near an enemy turret, you will melt the hell out of it while it is distracted. Even at level one your acid is pretty good at this due to it’s massive DOT, though with the small range it’s best to wait till level 2 acid at least.

For wabalo, occTRONx, and 187_killah, who I guess play with other people in their house?
One could register accounts with the permission that they could be on at the same time as some other account.
That way if I wanted to play with my girlfriend or something, we would register a new account for her with that permission with my account, and then if people think I’m botting, all accounts linked to that one with that permission get banned.

Thats my idea anyway.

ronPaulBoss, great post for a new player. I agree with at least 3, 4, and 5.

As for pilot select I have an answer, let the players try any ship in the single player practice mode, that way you can try them all before picking which one to buy.

- Auto-kick players that haven’t moved for more than 60 seconds <- I think this already happens

- Let new players into games where people have left to even up matches <- There needs to be a delay… say 60 seconds at least. For example, when the game starts to lag, I refresh my browser, which usually fixes the problem. The system shouldn’t penalize me for cases where I am dealing with technical issues and plan to come back.

- Matches with leavers should be switched to unrated for both teams <- No. Then players who care about ranking would just leave games that they are losing, and their opponents wouldn’t get their fair points. However, I do think the penalties for leaving should be higher. The current “good / bad” rating system was a step in the right direction, however the penalty is not useful (people who leave generally aren’t in top 100, so ineligibility for leader board is meaningless).

- Remove the ability to see teammate names in the lobby <- Yes please. This should help make ELO work the way it is supposed to (i.e. hopefully makes top players quit lobbies less often. In any case, they can’t quit more than currently lol. However it could increase frustration if matchmaker keeps putting a known troll / leaver on your team)

- Allow unranked / unrated clan / team games <- Ok, but this is low priority unless it is easy to program. Fix game balance first.

- Team tournaments (which don’t affect stats on the leaderboard) <- Same comment as above

- No player under 1300 rating should ever play against a player above 1300, ever. <- No. However it should try to balance the same number of 1300+ rating players on each side. If you’re saying games should only have 1300+ players or under 1300 players, the 1300+ players will almost never play due to lack of available players. Especially outside of the prime evening hours.

- Fix the damn gates so that they cover the length of the map, so that backdoor can be eliminated once and for all <- Yes please. This would increase the risk of back-dooring, which is a common complaint. However, it likely won’t be effective vs. ANT.

Average elo visible is great, and scramble if 50% players want it is also great.

The main thing this game needs though is a damn tutorial that teaches the basics of how to play this complex and interesting game.
