Hi COG. I’d like to make several suggestions regarding upgrades in the castle area.

(1) The buildings Warehouse (humans) / Verdant Cache (elves) / Dark Cellar (undead), which increase the maximum warehouse capacity for resources, should have their level caps raised, say to level 25.
(2) Similarly, the technologies Dominion / Geomancy / Necrosis, which provide a percentage increase to warehouse capacity, should have their level caps raised too.

I suggest these because as it stands, you have been regularly lifting the level cap on the Palace / Tree of Life / Adumbral Altar buildings, and it happens that in order to upgrade said building to level 26, the Lumber/Stone/Iron required is half your capacity. I imagine that without the aforementioned level caps being raised, eventually we’ll get to a point where you need pretty your entire capacity to upgrade the Tree of Life.

And just to clarify: my usual character was created on server 1 before it was merged with servers 2 and 3. The character I created in my final edit comment is an “S2 char” per server list description. (Why choose an S2 character? To reduce the number of differences between my usual character and the character I created earlier today.)

Also, both AndyC’s server 3 account and my server 1 account are identified as being online (according to the rank page of my S2 character), even though we are suffering from the aforementioned internal errors.

COG, I’m a player on M1. Since the maintenance, I have not been able to do anything with your game other than load the server I play on. Quite literally the very second the server loads, I get kicked out with a message telling me that an internal error has occurred (#-1 for the record – yes, that’s negative one), whereupon I am sent to the log-in screen upon closing the error pop-up. When I click log-in there, I am redirected to the server list page; when I select my server there, this whole issue begins again.

Also, on the messages window in the lower left corner of the game window, I have the following text in red:
[Tips] An internal error has occurred. {#!errno}

ADDITIONALLY: I have done this on three separate browsers, one of which I restarted in between two tries, and one of which I have attempted to play COG on once.

FINAL EDIT: I just created a character on another server, which loaded properly; it seems to me, then, that my internal error problems are primarily server-side, since strictly client-side would mean I shouldn’t have been able to create that second character.

POST-FINAL EDIT: I just tried logging onto my usual server on a computer I haven’t played COG on in about four months. Same error as above.

To somewhat corroborate what rqdelrosario is complaining about: since the maintenance, I swear that, at least 90% of the time, whenever you click a button that causes a window to close or change the map, the button’s action area will vanish noticeably before the rest of the window does.

For what it’s worth: If you look carefully at the daily tasks page, instead of being 5/30/60/90/120 minutes to the reward… it’s now registering at 1/2/3/4/5 minutes.

[EDIT] At least, it was when I was playing right after server reset.

I’d just like to observe that this same phenomenon (world boss is not defeated, retains its HP count) appears to be happening with the 22:00 World Boss on M1, too.

I would like to amend the above: it appears that a recent maintenance wiped out the code that caused the world boss to become harder or easier according to whether it was deleted or not.

COG, you’re badly misunderstanding what Jas is saying. If I remember correctly, each World Boss fight is supposed to get easier (i.e., reduced HP count) if it is not defeated. The morning World Boss on M1 has not been defeated for several days now, and it remains at 245 million HP.

To be fair, it’s entirely possible to match all 15 pairs in 30 moves. Of course, the probability of that happening is on the order of 10^-16, but what’s a ridiculously small probability between friends?

The bigger issue, I think, is that in the long run, you’re more likely than not to have to buy multiple extra chance purchases to clear the board once, no matter what strategy you use.

DaemonVower / anyone else who’s done a reincarnation so far, is it possible for you to give me answers to the following questions re: Hero Reincarnation?

  1. The attribute enhancement image provided in part (a) of the introduction to Hero Reincarnation cites Potential as being 25 and Max Units as 120 in the first reincarnation. Does this indicate that if a hero has been reincarnated once, his/her Potential increases by 25 and his/her Max Units (at any given level) by 120?
  2. Does a reincarnated hero forget whatever skill books he or she has learned?
  3. Does a reincarnated hero that has had a third skill book slot be opened have to have that skill book slot be re-opened after being reincarnated?

I get the impression that these questions can be answered “Yes, on both counts”, “No”, and “No”, given that I haven’t seen any complaints about having to re-open skill book slots (concerns about having to do so, yes, but nothing that indicates that one will have to do so), but it can’t hurt to be absolutely certain, right?

The bug that PrinceTodd101 and silarth are reporting appears to trigger when you open up the unit-specific recruit dialogues, whether Normal or Senior units—for whatever reason, doing so now disables the button that allows you to switch between Normal and Senior units—then close the general recruit window without closing the unit-specific recruit dialogue first. As long as you go back into Recruit and open then close a unit-specific recruit dialogue, it’ll work.

Please note that this never happened to me before the maintenance.

I have a problem with your second proposal, specifically the random pop-up. Not only would your proposal, as is, discourage auto-mousing, it would discourage people starting a boss and going off to do something else while the boss runs in the background, since if I’m reading the proposal correctly they would have to regularly return to their COG tab to click the pop-up to go on to the next fight. Now, sure, this could be nothing more than a slight inconvenience for the earliest team bosses, since they’ve only got a few mobs – but what of higher-level team bosses that have a full complement of 30 mobs, or close to it?

Also, if I’m not mistaken, bosses, alliance wars, and the zombie fights are all done using the same programming.

Actually, yes. The maintenance notice for the 6th mentions that the participation packs would only be sent out for the first week after that maintenance. Since we’ve had a maintenance since then, that week has therefore passed.

As a concrete example of what DaemonVower is talking about, suppose that a particular battle drops one of three items, with theoretical drop rates (TDR) of 40, 30, and 20. Now, if the drop system is governed by some sort of iteration mechanism with the items being checked in descending order of TDR (i.e. the game checks to see if the instance drops the TDR 40 item, and only if that doesn’t happen does it check to see if it drops the TDR 30 item, and only in the situation where the TDR 30 check fails will the game perform the TDR 20 check), you’ll find after doing the that the items have effective drop rate (EDR) of 40, 18, and 8.4.

Therefore, the TDR of no item is 10, while the EDR of no item is 33.6 – more than three times the TDR!

COG, I’m pretty certain that your level restrictions on the werewolf world bosses dropping tattoo fragments bugged the entire world boss system.

I am a level 110 player on M1. I am not providing screenshots because I feel my description is rich enough to explain the issue, and I am not identifying my character name because the important thing for me is getting this bug fixed, not getting compensated for the silver and hero experience I didn’t get (because since the last maintenance took place, all but maybe two of the world boss fights I’ve started were for the purpose of verifying the existence of this bug). For the three battles I am about to describe, I used the same six heroes, in the same formation, in the same positions, using the same units, using the same equipment.

Battle 1: At around 15:47 server time, I initiated a battle with Flesh Bat, a level 76 mob in the Cave of Burning Snows. After completing the battle, the You Win! screen stated that (1) I received a Bleak Helmet as a reward, and no character experience; (2) the level 79 red Defence hero I was using received 877 experience; (3) that the level 73 Agility hero I was using received 923 experience; and (4) the other four heroes received no experience, which is understandable, considering they range in level from 91 to 105 and are therefore at least 15 levels higher than the Flesh Bat. The preceding description is consistent with what was printed to the System tab: according to the System Tab, I received a Bleak Helmet, and the two heroes mentioned received the stated amounts of experience.

Battle 2: At around 15:48 server time, I initiated a battle with Beast Tamer, the level 78 world boss in the Cave of Burning Snows. When the Close dialogue appeared, indicating that the overall result of the battle had already been determined, I clicked it. According to the “You Won!” screen, (1) I received a Bleak Helmet, and gained no character experience; (2) none of my heroes gained any experience. According to the System tab, I received nothing. The item also did not appear in my inventory, and I did not expect it to appear in my inventory.

Battle 3: At around 15:52 server time, I initiated a battle with Soul of the Forsaken, the level 85 world boss in the Frozen Ossuary. According to the “You Win!” screen, (1) I received 200 Silver, a Lost Love Armor, and no character experience; (2) my level 98 red Agility hero received 23677 exp; (3) my level 91 red Agility hero received 90470 exp; (4) my level 79 red Defense hero received 92616 exp; (5) my level 74 red Agility hero received 87271 exp; (6) my level 105 orange Agility and level 100 red Defense heroes received no experience. Again, (6) is reasonable because they are at least 15 levels higher than the boss. Once again, this is consistent with what the System tab says.

So why is it that my level 74 and level 79 heroes are not receiving experience from a level 78 world boss when they are doing so from a level 76 mob and a level 85 world boss? (Remember, 74 is smaller than 78.) And why am I not receiving Silver or a random drop from a level 78 world boss when I am from a level 76 mob and a level 85 world boss?

COG, I just want to make something absolutely clear about what Wishie’s other two points are saying:
(1) For the last several months (and I believe this has been the case since before servers 1, 2 and 3 were merged into M1) world bosses (e.g., Krail the Crusher in Seid Highlands) were providing Silver, a randomly dropped item as a reward, and experience to any heroes that were of a low enough level that they would be entitled to experience from that world boss every time you managed to beat them, even if your character was too high a level for him/her to get experience from the world boss.
(2) Before the maintenance that resulted in the situation in (1), I seem to remember it being the case that you always got Silver and a level-appropriate drop, but if your character was too high a level to receive any experience from the world boss, your heroes were out of luck for getting experience.
(3) After Thursday’s maintenance, your character has to be no more than 29 levels above the boss in order for not only you, but also your heroes, to get anything from the boss. If you’re 30 levels or more higher than a given world boss, though? You won’t get any Silver for beating the boss, even though you were always getting it before. You won’t get a random drop as a reward for taking the boss down, not even white gems, even though you got them every time before. And if you managed to beat that boss with six heroes, all of which were of a lower level than the boss? None of them get experience.

I’d like to affirm that there is Something Horribly Wrong with the way world bosses have worked since maintenance. In the past, say, twenty minutes, I (level 111) have attempted Krail the Crusher (lv. 64, Seid Highlands) twice, Dreamweaver (lv. 89, Stonefrost Tundra) once, and Stygian Dragonbone (lv. 70, Haunted Copse) once. Only with Dreamweaver did I get anything. Krail? No silver, no random drop, no experience for my level 73 hero who should be getting experience because she got experience from the level-less-than-65 mob right beside Krail. Nothing. Stygian? Same issue. And yes, I checked the experience.

Even months ago when whether or not your heroes got experience at a given world boss was determined by whether or not you got experience at a given world boss (which was changed because of complaints from players), I remember getting silver, if not a drop as well.

Okay, let’s be honest: the bolded would somehow manage to make changing the drop list after people started getting orange gems even worse. What happens if someone happened to put one or both of their orange gems into equipment? If they used hammers when setting the gems, are they now out the hammers because COG miscalculated with the destiny package?
