The sandworms of Arrakis are attacking, anyone? But seriously, good work. I like how the whole thing is reflected slightly, but is still not that noticable, and the illusion of three dimensions kind of makes your eyes wander. One problem though, is that there’s a stripe of birght green next to a stripe of cyan, and it makes it look like they’re both cyan and kind of throws off the marvel of it. Small error though, might be missed easily

Definitely Axl Rose, if you listen to all the guns n’roses songs he has many distinctive voices.
The other one has got to be Thom Yorke from Radiohead. It gives you shivers. Oh, and vocals don’t make all the band. Everyone here who’s heard Van Halen’s Eruption can account for that.

Glad to give back. I think…

Exactly my point! The thing is, the learning curve must be steeper unless you intend to spend hours devising strategies! I mean steep because you learn it fast, compared to how much there needs to be learned.

And you all can’t wait because? The game is just pretty much done-or at least the concept is. Not sure about the gameplay, but it sounds like the progress is very smooth. If they do want beta testers, it would probably to test the limits of the servers or something, not the gameplay.

(edit) And also, you don’t expect them to let in everybody… think about it… I think the amount of people accepted into Kongai is in in 5-6 digits? Maybe focus on your prominence in Kongregate. Maybe not just points, but reccomendations from moderators or whatever.

I think that GameBrew was intending that you find your own strategies to go through. I mean- look at starcraft: You have to play for like a week to not be clueless, even against AI. Compared to most RTS games, Drone Wars has an incredibly steep learning curve (due to its small unit range) and it takes about one or two days to get good enough. Most people might hate the game because they played for a few minutes, expecting a quick game. I mean, that is the majority of Kongregate, right?

Forget everything, I guess micromanaging is the way to go. But I think everyone is overlooking the updates and focusing on creating units like in arcade mode. Instead, try using your starting money to upgrade, and build a single mine drone for the striker. From there, just take small packs and have them focus on one enemy at a time- and, don’t think that the silo drone is 4x a striker. I defeated a silo with a single striker, due to a single damage upgrade and a single armor upgrade.

(edit) Draco18s, what does an swf compiler help in this situation anyway?

The way I see it, challenges have been incredibly easy for a while, and then people are complaining. Sorry for all the requests, GameBrew, personally I’m not that great of a flash programmer (need flash first), but you could just have some simple things to make them complain less. Maybe base the score on droids destroyed?

Well if you started with 300 ore…

1st round: Upgrade, build 2 cruisers and own
2nd round: Repair drone to repair. Own.
3rd round: Upgrade.
4th round: Cruiser
5th round: Repair again. Own.

There’ s a pattern here… I guess the extra 5 ore might be too much, maybe change it to 1 or 2, therefore being more balanced, so you can get to the later rounds but the later rounds won’t be that easy with the new ore settings. And I see GameBrew’s point with the Nuke drone, because if we had like 20 strikers, then the game would be made of lag. So hands up to gamebrew for creating a working RTS.

Ok, I’m withdrawn, now I just need to figure out how to get to level 10. It makes you feel like a complete control freak to win, doesn’t it?

Ok… I’m glad my idea went through but currently, five extra ore is not that big of a help. Honestly, I thought it was a glitch when I first saw it… Put it this way, 5 ore can be spent on:

15 worth of armour repairs
1/8 of a mine drone

Therefore, I guess it could be more useful in later stages, but my maximum is still 500.

Yes! Yes! I know! The majority of players are complaining about the Survival mode right? Nobody cares that much about the flaws, we can go around that. Besides flaming GameBrew and Greg, why don’t we do something logical? Easy enough to create some equation to make the ore obtained higher per level for the Survival mode. Anyway, we can live with the bad AI (which compared to some RTS games, isn’t that bad) and accept the fact that we have a laggy computer. There are games which can be played without too much CPU usage that are of this quality, and there will be (with Greg’s advice) another chance to get the card.
