It might be paced to allow casual gameplay and steady progress, but what use is this if the game itself offers neither?
The gameplay is not casual, it’s pretty hardcore and unforgiving. You can play a match every couple hours IF you manage to turn your energy into form effectively – and getting silver or gold metals is rather difficult for a “casual” game. Once you are finally able to play a match, you might end up getting only one or two opportunities which again are often pretty difficult to score upon.
And where is that steady progress? I started out as the upcoming superstar of everything and scored at least once every match even if I missed a couple of shots, which also resulted in a good league position for the team. Now I sometimes manage to score on the one chance I get, only to watch my team lose and not being able to help. Of course, people are not so enthusiastic about my performance anymore and the team has climbed down the table consistently.
Increasing values don’t help if the game punishes you for advancing.
