The universe is forever expanding, so the distance from earth to other planets that offer appropriate living conditions for life could be anyones guess. Personally, I think the chances of earth being the only planet which is suitable for life to exist is just too slim.

Possibly. What if the robber was armed with a gun? You’re not going to be able to fight your way out of a robbery when you’ve got a gun pointed at your head. Personally, I think it’s the people who need to be controlled, not the guns. However, making it harder to obtain a gun won’t stop people from getting their hands on them, whatever their reasoning for possessing one is.
