There was a strategy game I played a long time ago.
It had three different paths your units could take, and the map was divided into two halves, player and enemy.
The player had a series of towers on his side, and the enemy had a mirror of the player.
The player had a hero who could move separately from the units you sent, and I believe the player could choose between mage, melee, and ranged. The enemy, I believe, had the same.
You could upgrade various facets of your game, such as unit speed, gold production etc.
The objective, of course, was to destroy your enemy’s hq at the other end of the map.
