Guess which card has now become good? …Cold Mistress! It now has immunity, so Cold Mistress + Priest Mark is 60 heal, 30 magic, 30 wall (so unaffected by reflect), 70hp (so no 1-shot kill from backstab), and unsilenceable!

I’ve amended my setup to CM+PM, hydra+commander, BD+obsidian. Might also work with musc+magebane if magic is a problem, but I’d rather not have flying misses.

Counter activates when the monster is dead now. Ah, so immunity stops silence now? Interesting…

My current setup seems to be more likely to die in wave 4 now, with backstabbing kuks and silence stopping heal. I’m thinking of either using musc+magebane, sadi+PM to demoralise the kuks, or musc+PM, chimp+glowing darts to opportunity/anti-air them, since glowing darts swapped paint for cleave.

Anyone noticed a drop in their win rates after the update? The cautious not preventing silence change means that master healer isn’t that useful anymore… and the counter change makes it easier for backrow muscs to die now

I just auto’d 6 waves with mush+skull shield, WW+obsidean, musc+PM.

I’m sure there’s better variants than that though. If you don’t have skull shield, any regen item will do, and MA can be used in place of PM. It might need some more heal.

I’ve had success using GD+PM before too.

FYI – I use Hydra+commander / Musc+magebane / squid+PM and it hasn’t lost yet. Small chance it could hit the turn limit I guess, but I haven’t seen it. I used to use a second Musc+PM in place of the squid (like for my DA setup), and I’m pretty sure that’s a 100% setup too, but squid is faster to deploy with a green PM, so I prefer using that.

I don’t have master healer unfortunately. I prefer PM and magebane however due to the 30 wall on each. If I had master healer, I think a better setup would be ninjedi+MH instead of musc+PM.

I’m currently using another setup to the one that I’ve posted here. In both cases, I stopped collecting data shortly after 100 runs.

The musc+PM/hydra+commander/musc+warping setup achieved wave 7 102/118 times, which is a success rate of 86.4%.

The waves the setup failed on were:
Wave 6 – 10 times.
Wave 5 – 2 times.
Wave 4 – 4 times.

This setup never hit the turn limit – I watched all defeats, and it failed on wave 6 in all cases due to a backrow hydra plus 20 magic in front of the warping musc, and a 60 magic GD in front of the PM musc. The earlier wave defeats were usually due to a backrow backstabber in waves 4/5 taking out one of the muscs.

My current setup is:

Center: Hydra + Commander
Left: Musc + Magebane
Right: Musc + PM.

This auto’d wave 7 103/110 times, which is a 93.6% success rate.
Failures were on:
Wave 6 – 2 times
Wave 5 – 3 times
Wave 4 – 1 time
Wave 3 – 1 time.

Most of the time the failures were due to some form of backstab in the early waves, although I didn’t watch the failures after a while. It could have hit the turn limit in wave 7, I’m not sure. However, this setup is definitely better than the first one.

Note: If one of the muscs dies while setting up, this setup can also succeed when using any monster+PM in place of the second musc. I’ve tried it with crocodime, not-a-rat, and graverobber with success. The musc+magebane has enough damage to take out the hydras by itself over time.

Complete ToE 8 3 times, then ToE 9 (aka The Final Boss) once to unlock DA. It costs 100 light to start a DA with no multiplier, and 50 light after that. The rewards at 1x for beating the waves of your own swarm are:

Wave 1 – 1500 gold – 30 coins/light – 250 exp – 5 exp/light
Wave 2 – 1700 gold – 34 coins/light – 275 exp – 5.5 exp/light
Wave 3 – 2000 gold – 40 coins/light – 300 exp – 6 exp/light
Wave 4 – 2500 gold – 50 coins/light – 350 exp – 7 exp/light
Wave 5 – 3000 gold – 60 coins/light – 400 exp – 8 exp/light
Wave 6 – 3500 gold – 70 coins/light – 700 exp – 14 exp/light
Wave 7 – 5000 gold – 100 coins/light – 1000 exp – 20 exp/light

Another option for people with only 1 musc – This setup auto’d wave 7:

Mid: Hydra + Commander
Left: Crocodime + Rat’s Tail
Right: Musc + Priest Mark

I got a chance to test this when part of my regular setup died on wave 1. I haven’t done any tests with the setup yet, so I don’t know how successful it will be in the long run, but the initial results are promising!

I’m using (all lv5):

Front – Hydra+Commander
Left – Musculard + Priest Mark
Right – Musculard + Warping Lance.

It’s auto’d past wave 7 61/70 times so far, which is a 87% success rate, with the failed runs getting past wave 6 usually.

It could also work with Ninjedi + Warping (although that might die in the earlier waves from backstab / AoE / thorns / counter etc due to it’s lower health), or with War Wraith + Dragoon Spear. I haven’t tested either of these setups as I don’t have the cards, so they might do better than my setup. WW in particular should be able to 1-shot those pesky GD’s if they don’t have any armour.

My UV surrender setup (~90% success – all Lv5)

Front: RD + AR
Left: Musc + Priest Mark
Right: Eagle + MM

I used to have success with Kuk + Priest mark instead of the Musc, but my Kuk was only Lv3. Still, it used to have an ~80% success rate. I have a feeling Mush+LG instead of RD will push it closer to 100%.

The trick is to have something on the left that can act as a backup tank when using RD, and the left needs to have wall. This is due to the shadowed plate in wave 4 giving invincibility, meaning the left will take magic damage (also there’s 2 monsters per turn in wave 7). So Kuk and Musc work because they can take over from RD if it gets killed in the later waves.

+1. Totally agreed on this.

Also, I get the feeling that if edge priced cards and boosters at 10% of the current cost, a lot more players will end up buying stuff, and they’ll make more money in the long run. eg. 1500 = $15 for a shop card, which I will never pay. $1.50 however…

Silence Stops Bless!!! that’s crazy…it happened to me today.
I’ve put a bless item on a silenced monster (not entangled nor stunned) and it didn’t activate.

Actually bomb, I’ve done some tests, and silence doesn’t stop bless – it’s just a visual bug: ie. your monsters are still blessed, but you can’t see it.
