Topic: Berserk: The Cataclysm / Imperial Cost for Campaigns
The reason I love this game so much is because it hooks you early on by giving you a way to make easy money. The first two campaigns are free, as well as the five island campaigns. This gives you some good money to start making some decent decks. Upon completing these, with a good group of friends you can start farming them. While doing this, you are also completing achievements, which give you money. Also, if you are an active player, a lot of people will add you as a friend and ask you to be a governor, giving you more money and also giving you chest with which you have a chance to gain even more money. When I play card games like these, my goal is to get good cards and build amazing decks, but the reason I love games like this so much is because I actually have to work to get those cards. Opening that one booster that I worked so hard to get and receiving even one good card I can incorporate into one of my decks is so rewarding, more so than if it was extremely easy to get. If I found I could spend all day playing this game and make more than 100 grand a day after the first day, I would quit playing soon after. I would lose interest after a while, because it would this game would cease to be challenging when everyone has these ridiculous decks. As a free to play player who occasionally shells out 10 or 20 bucks for games that I actually love, I have spent 4 or 5 hours a day compiling money with which to buy boosters. This entertains me, and has entertained me since this game was launched here on Kongregate. This game is not meant to be a game that you spend one day on and feel like you have had enough. It is meant for people to either pay some cash and get some quick good cards, or for people to keep coming back, day after day, trying to rack up the money in game. As someone who has no problem doing either of these things, I think this game has the perfect balance of making it entertaining while also making it accessible to everyone, which is what the developers did when they made it so you didn’t have to pay ounces for new campaigns. This is an MMO, and like any other MMO, it takes TIME to rise to the top. Just be patient and enjoy the whole process of building a deck, no matter how hard or annoying it may seem at the moment, because at the end of the day, that is what makes games like this so much fun to play. If you want instant gratification for free, go play Upgrade Complete or something of that nature, because, unless you are willing to shell out some real money, this game will take time, but will reward you time after time in ways that other games don’t come close too.
