Tucker, if you wish to do this also, don’t thread hijack.. Please just make your own topic.

I have people who may help me, and those who have asked.. You haven’t asked and I’ve never seen you even do art before. Although I admit to being less active here recently.

Please ask permission, whether it will be given or not is yet to be seen =/

REVIVAL!

Thats right folks, this thread has been officially revived. Anyone who wishes to have a Santa hat on their avatar may say so, and it will be given. However, I must lay out some specs.

You must state where you want your hat [If you fail to specify, I will put your hat on a person in your image, or if your image is Abstract, I will put it in the middle].

You must state what colors you wish the hat to be. You may alter 2 things, the color of the majority of the hat, and the color of the ball/frilly bottom part. If you fail to, expect it to be generic.

Other than that, all I ask is that you tell me if you want your image changed after I put the hat on it.

I also ask that only people who seriously going to use the art ask for it. I will be very ticked if someone asks for one, I make it, and they go ‘j/k’. :D

Othe than that, feel free to critique, although I will probably pay no attention to it ^^

I will start on these probably just after Thanksgiving, but please ask for them now till christmas.

ITS ALLLIVE!

Topic: Serious Discussion / Proposition 8 in California, 2008

Article 1. SEC. 31. (a) The State shall not discriminate against, or grant
preferential treatment to, any individual or group on the basis of
race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin in the operation of
public employment, public education, or public contracting.

Prop. 8 willfully violates fundamental rights, which is why it should never have been allowed to come up in the first place. If gender is not a factor, then why are homosexuals being denied this privilege?

I don’t see what you’re trying to accomplish with that statement and bolding ‘sex’. Maybe I’m just not understanding you, but homosexuality is not a sex. In no way does that statement from the California Constitution have any bearing on homosexuality. What I mean by that is this: That doesn’t protect, or give rights to homosexuals.

I’m sorry for the utter lack of coherency when I post, it is dreadful, and I am aware. I just lack the time to move things around now-a-days.

Also Phoenix, does Buster seem familiar to you? I seem to recall various other trolls we’ve put down having the number 42. I understand its a popular number and probably a coincidink. :)

Nah, I can say from experience that the majority of girls come out of highschool banged. I know plenty of girls who haven’t yet, but I also know plenty of girls who had sex at 13.

I do think the majority of these statistics are true.

Topic: Serious Discussion / Proposition 8 in California, 2008

California has “spoken” on an issue they had no right to speak in. You live in a democracy that’s framed by a Constitution. The Constitution is there to protect the minority from the whims of the majority. Majority rules isn’t democracy; it’s subjugation of the few by the many.

Mind explaining why California had no right to speak on this issue under the constitution? I might have read you wrong.

On second thought, I won’t be here when you get back, so I’m assuming your answer is somewhat like this, if its not, consider its informative for those who didn’t know.

‘The constitution gives people the right to ________ as they please/when they want to. It makes sure people have the rights they should’

First off, the USA is not a Democracy, as the term should be, and was defined. [They have changed the dictionary meaning to fit the USA] You see, we are really a Democratic Republic, however, they way California voted on Prop 8 was typical of a democracy. That said, its somewhat irrelevant, so moving on.

Based on my assumed answer, that is not true. The constitution does not in any way shape or form give people any rights. It does however protect people’s rights assuming they already have them. However, one’s rights is determined by the state.

For example, no where in the Constitution does it say we have a right to vote. No where, at all. However, it protects the right to vote, assuming it is given to us by our state. [It states no one can be turned away from the polls based on gender, race.. etc etc] That said, if the state of… Ohio we’ll say, wanted to make a law that stated ONLY people owning houses that site on more than 26 Acres, or own a Farm of at least 50 Acres may vote. That is entirely passable by the constitution.

I don’t know if that was anyone’s assumed answer, but if its not, hopefully I informed you another way.

Yes, but define smart?

Surely one from… a family who has a history of an IQ of 85, cannot be as smart as someone from a family of IQ around 200.

While there are exceptions to the rule, trying hard and doing your best can make you book smart, or super smart in one subject, but overall, the capacity of learning is generally higher in the better gene stock.

As I said, plenty of exceptions though.

Well the same thing goes with the Election Phoe.

Obama had a complete Landslide Electoral College vote, but only won by 8 million votes, which yes, is a lot… But it is definitely NOT a landslide.

You can easily pass things when it is a state decision without having the popular vote of the entire country.

The feeling has been mutual on many occasions. We can stop this here, or if you’d like to have the last word, I don’t care.

Anyway, back to the Prop 8 discussion.

They have in the past 5 minutes updated it, and the Yes side gained 0.2, 2 more of the votes are in. That makes it 98.3% of the votes are in. Looks like Yes will, or should win, anyone know what the deal with Absentee ballots are? I was told they weren’t counted in this statistic.

Nice quote, its a shame the US isn’t a Democracy though.

See, the term Democracy has been stretched to fit, but really, we are a republic with some Democracy tendencies. This proposition is an example of the tendencies.

A democracy is where all the people vote on everything, a republic is where we elect representatives to vote for us.

Phoenix, I have a feeling you are disappointed in me, or would be no matter what, just because I believe in God. That is irrelevant though.

Well, if it is [I haven’t read the bill] then his statement is correct. It may be educating them in Sex predators, and it has to tell them what they do. So yes, his statement is true. However, its not the full story.

Also, thanks for totally ignoring the Liberal sources versus the Conservative part of that guys, and just take out what you want to. Which is basically what the other guy did about the kindergartners.

OT

I’ve run into this before, what will you guys accept as real sources?

I’ve cited conservative and supposed balanced sites before, which got rejected here. Only when I put up a nice liberal source was it accepted.

And no, I haven’t checked what he posted, so I am not saying that his sources are true, fair.. or anything else.

Oh, sorry, that was OT. Back to the topic, and I’m going now, might check back in tomorrow from the Airport.

Phoenix, the difference is the percentage of Black turnout. They’ve always gotten a high % of the vote, but the number that have turned out are what I am talking about.

Also, I can’t find any good sources right now since the Census and official people keeping track have yet to post the results of percentages. I did see it on Fox and CNN though, at about 30-60% higher turnout.

Carados, sorry, the radical wasn’t meant to be in there.

Topic: Serious Discussion / We are screwed

Alright, Obama is terrible and will probably send this country on such a path of no return that it… well, it has no return [Through Social Programs most likely]. However, saying that he will disband our military is far too much. I’ve got scathing things I say about him, but never would any president disband the military. The rest of what you said is okay, but I mainly hate him BECAUSE HE IS BL – No, I’m kidding. I mainly dislike him as a president because we have no record to look at to see what he will do, and what record he does have that we can obtain it is the most liberal voting record of any person ever. I also dislike him because he changes his positions way too often.

I really don’t care he’s black, I care about all the attention and votes he’s getting because he’s 50% black.

PS: Guys, seriously, its great to be able to have sources for things, and certainly the more radical things people say should be cited, or they should be able to find the quote or whatever… but we ask for quote too often on little things to avoid the question. I mean, if everyone had to have sources for their ideas, science would be non-existent.

I edited out the Radical, wasn’t meant to be there… but still, if everyone had to cite a source for an idea, we could have no new ideas.

response to Carados

Are you still trying to troll, or are you actually asking for me to take all the time to find the manuscripts of each speech, compare, contrast, quote, edit, bold, etc? I’m sorry, but if you want to do that while waiting for your Handout, be my guest, but I do not have the time. I shouldn’t even have taken the time to post here in the first place. Now, I’ll check back, but I have to do work.
