People have been modded who had loads of bans and silences on their profiles, sometimes even fairly recently to their modding date. It’s unusual though, and is certainly taken into account when the admins decide.

You’re not actually able to rate games without getting points for it, once you rate 50 that’s it for the day.

I don’t currently take part in tournaments because I think Kongregate takes more of my time than I ought to allow it as is. While I’m under no illusions that I might win a tournament I believe I’m a strong enough player to deliver the occasional upset and provide decent competition to most tournament players.

When I did take part in tournaments it was often to see how I did compared to other tournaments I’d been in, and to improve proportionally. Getting to top 25% where previously I only reached top 50%, etc. I was delighted when I managed to reach the finals of JimmyCarlos’ tournament (albeit with a large group for the finals) and made a point of posting a score in each game even though I wasn’t able to beat many of the other scores in the time alotted. Tournaments provide a framework for personal challenge as well as competition against others.
