It’s not retroactive, sorry. But you can just do another run and finish it with all your fancy upgrades from pre-badging.

Our virtual goods team. If I just did it by rating, there would be way more of them. We have to prioritize.

is Sky Quest a new imp. badge candidate?

Probably not. It’s pretty grindy and not actually that hard. I’m not even sure if I want to put any badges in hard mode — it’s actually easier when you have all your upgrades and these upgrades continue getting better faster than the game gets harder.

Badges are indeed live in Back to Zombieland! Thanks for the name suggestions as usual, Precarious. I only tweaked them a little bit.

It’s not really a hard rule; I’d rather just that people focus on suggesting the highest rated games on the site. Back to Zombieland is pretty short and fun, and the rating is close enough, so I gave it an editorial boost.

Hey guys, sorry about the recent lack of badges and updates. I took yesterday off. Back to Zombieland is scheduled for tomorrow, then Sky Quest probably around Friday.

Back to Zombieland will have an easy badge for something like kills or coins collected or something, then a medium for game completion. Suggest names if you want!

I’m not sure about Sky Quest yet. I spent all day today playing it.

Yeah, I also ended up enjoying the game a lot more than I thought I would. I was reluctant to play/badge it for a while because I’m pretty tired of military-themed tower defense games, but this one in particular was a pleasant surprise.

I just beat the last level on “hard.” It took about a dozen tries, but it was pretty reasonable once I got my strategy down. I’m thinking it’s probably a suitable hard badge.

The stars stat doesn’t differentiate by difficulty, so either way you’re still encouraged to play it on the easy setting. But the game is long enough and the last mission is hard enough that I think it’s still an appropriate medium badge.

I can do game completion on hard, though (just not all stars on hard). So this would also be feasible:

Easy: Earn $2k

Medium: 15 stars (any difficulty)

Hard: Game completed (hard mode)

Command & Control is scheduled for tomorrow. Here’s what I’m thinking:

Easy: Earn $2k (usually after completing level 2)

Medium: Earn 15 stars

Medium: Complete all 8 levels

These tasks can be cone on any difficulty setting. Weigh in with feedback or name suggestions if you want!

For Moon Waltz, I’m thinking 2 easy badges. One easy badge for getting both love-themed endings (which are easier), and another easy for blasting off to the moon.

Looks good, thanks! Adding it to the list. Seems pretty straightforward — I’ll shoot for getting something up tomorrow.

I’m removing Vex 3 because I still haven’t heard back from the developer.

And I’ll look through that list more, adv0catus, but sometimes old games have inflated ratings, and it’s more difficult to get API issues resolved.

I think you guys are maybe underestimating the difficulty of pars in Red Remover Blast, or maybe I’m just terrible at it. But I’ve completed 100 levels and only gotten 24 pars.

Anyway, so I try to keep all the stats different if possible, and I don’t think I want to require anything for the last 10 levels. So practically by process of elimination, that leaves me with this plan for Red Remover Blast:

Easy: Remove some red shapes (maybe 100 or so)

Medium: Complete 40 levels

Hard: Par 80 levels

Feedback/name suggestions appreciated!

Rogue Soul 2 badges are live, thanks a ton for the feedback and name suggestions, everyone! That took way longer than I anticipated. Freeway Fury 3’s easy badge is now called Ejecta Trifecta, also.

Okay, now I really need to get Red Remover Blast badges up tomorrow so this week isn’t complete fail.

I know I’m late on this, but arrrgh. Our system doesn’t let us create identical badge names, and I’ll admit that this has saved me a few times in the past. Stupid ampersand. I’ve been using it more lately, and this is my punishment.

I think I’m going to change the name of the FF3 easy badge. Any suggestions are welcome.

All right, I think this is the current plan:

Easy: 3x kill combo

Medium: Complete level 10

Hard: 3k survival distance

Impossible: 100% game completion

I was hoping to get this up today, but I fail. Please feel free to suggest names and they’ll go live for real tomorrow!

Okay, looks like there’s support for the impossible badge.

I’m waffling about the required distance in survival mode for the hard badge. Somewhere between 2.5k and 4k. Please weigh in if you have an opinion!

It is an opinion that I share, and it’s precisely because this type of stat is so boring and straightforward that I usually reserve it for the easy badge, since grinding lots of kills is even lamer and there’s usually a limited number of stats that are usable for an easy badge.

Maybe I’ll make the easy badge getting a 3x combo instead, though — that’s a bit more interesting and I’m not using the combo stat for anything else anyway.
