Topic: Remnants of Skystone / Beta Testers Needed for Remnants of Skystone

If you still need testers, I’m in. I love giving Flash MMOs a try :)

Topic: General Gaming / Hero's Arms -- World 1 Walkthrough

Hey. My bestiary says I’m missing Evil Eye… but I’m already in world 2. Where can I find that thing?

Topic: Sonny 2 / Sonny 2 Info.

I love the story and the different classes, especially psychological (which is very overpowered). While I found the game to be short, I enjoyed it more than Sonny 1. Perhaps it’s because it took me a while to get the hang of each class and decide which was my favorite. The range of skills in Sonny 2 is rather large (even though many are useless). I think he might add more areas to Sonny 2 though.

Topic: General Gaming / The Space Game vs Mastermind

It’s quite insane. They always have the exact same rating (well, insofar as 2 decimal places), and remain that way after thousands of votes. Which is just crazy. I’m still rooting for The Space Game :)

Topic: General Gaming / The Space Game vs Mastermind

Well here’s a question I dont know the answer to. Is it possible to have a tie? Or is the award given to the game that is on the top of the list for whatever reason (even though they have the same score)?

And I agree with vesper. The difficulty curve in TSG is a little backwards. Starts out pretty hard, but gets easier.

And I didnt know the patsies efficiency made your missions fail even though you have a high completion percentage. I thought their lower efficiency meant that they added less to the overall success rate since they start out giving you 20% but eventually only 8% (for one, anyway).

That’s true. Perhaps if it had a way to tie levels together, similar to how Stormwinds does. Give a story and show each mission as the “next step” in the campaign. There’s always room for improvement. It’s still a very fun game.

Mastermind has a finicky save feature. I’ve had to quit sometimes and come back and replay 15-20 minutes to catch up. And during those 15-20 minutes, I evacuated my base (which supposedly saves your game). The fact that I failed a mission with a 96% success rate 3 times in a row. There’s also just a general lack of control that I dislike. How come you can’t select minions and have them stand at a certain point? It feels like the defense aspect was an afterthought to the rest of the game, which is played in menus.

Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoy it. I think it’s a fantastic game with a rewarding ending (humor, yay)! I just… don’t think it’s as close to the perfection that is Sonny and The Space Game (yeah, Lazer, Mastermind has a much better name).

Topic: General Gaming / The Space Game vs Mastermind

I find it very interesting to log on to Kongregate at various times in the day to see that one of these games has reclaimed the spot of “best this month.” When you think about it, it’s rather epic. Both of these games are amazing in their own ways… and they’re battling for $1500.

When I think about which game I’d like to see take the monthly award, my thoughts go immediately to production value. Both of these games have had a lot of time put into them. Mastermind has amazing voice acting and cut scenes which liven up the humor and quality. The Space game has such a complex, yet fun gameplay style that makes for a very rewarding experience when you complete a level.

I could probably write up a huge review on each of these games, but my thoughts come down to what is really at the heart of the matter. Gameplay. Mastermind is great, but has some frustrating features that hinder my enjoyment. Were I to pick a winner here, it would be The Space Game. It may also be worthy of dethroning Sonny :P

Topic: Sonny 2 / Sonny 2 is finally out. Impressions?

Sonny 1 was a lot better. The battles were far more tactical. You needed to time blocks, buffs, attacks, etc. This game is all about annoying focus management and throwing as much damage at the enemy as possible. Also, I hate that you start out waaaaaay weaker than your teammate. Everything I do is piddly compared to him. Its…. not fun.
