Seems sketchy. Did the Edgebee wiki account get hacked? Lol, don’t worry, I’m not expecting an answer for that one, since Edgebee is seemingly silent with anything pertaining to them.

Worst case scenario, Edgebee closes down the wikis for S&P and S&P2 to save money (server space, electricity costs, etc.), and we have to make an unofficial wiki for them. If that ever happens, lemme know Lamatiel, and I’ll be willing to play my part in the unofficial capacity of that.

I think it would be reasonable for CloudCade to check the security of their servers to ensure that no one has hacked/cracked them for information. Because I was there when this Yyll person was in chat, as well, but I thought he was just making up information for attention, because people do that stuff all of the time.

Hey Lamatiel, any idea what is expected to happen to the S&P2 wiki? I’m asking primarily because someone by the name of “Edgebee” edited the main redirect page and removed the S&P2 entire category. I was wondering if this was on purpose or if a fraud is trying to do something stupid and should be banned from the wiki for a bit?

Personally, I like games that grind and games that never end, never have a level cap, and have infinite possibilities for the future.

Maybe, CloudCade can incorporate a difficulty setting into the game, similar to how MMO’s have higher difficulty settings in return for better rewards. I think that would be useful and serve to better fit a larger range of audience.

They have to acquire the IP rights. Once that is confirmed, then they can provide a timeline.

That means for most of the game you are simply stockpiling rares. They just sit there, being useless until suddenly you need triple the amt you saved up. blech

I really like the sell/quest gameplay element with rare items. And having high level town upgrades that want 100 or less rare item donations is cool too. (1/12th share of that is totally doable) But precraft recipes that need rares??? That is just not playing fair.

I think rares should stay in the game, it has a nice system that is workable and adjustable, with the hope of an increased chance of acquisition in the future via Shop Fame and Customer Levels. The level 16 Dungeon has Eternal Ice as the common tier, and paired with a Holy Spray, almost all of my Customers have a 100% chance to acquire 1 per 48 hours.

You say it’s stupid, well that’s your opinion, and most certainly not a fact. In 6 days, I can make 1 Frost Shuriken, which will sell for 100k to a Customer. That’s an extra 100k every week from a common tier drop rate.

Upon acquisition of the IP rights, I think it would be a great idea to split the customer’s attitudes into two sections:

1) Buying. This would be purely towards the customers that can/cannot purchase the items that you are/are not selling.

2) Selling. This would be purely towards the items that the customers bring in, which you then buy from them.

The reason for this is because I always, 100% of the time, buy every single item from my customers, because a 50% profitable return at no expense of time to craft for me is a total win, but my customers always act surprised that I purchased their item. As everyone knows in real life, running a business doesn’t just acquire reputation from a single purpose/reputation, but rather what makes that business unique.

So, if I promise my customers a 100% ratio to buy every item that they sell to me, then I should have consistently happy customers ready to sell me items. Providing balance between the sales/buys ratio should be incorporated into the game, as it should affect the shop’s reputation level.

Topic: Swords & Potions 2 / Announcement: The Future of S&P2

I think a lot of people are misinterpreting what’s going on here. It’s not like this hasn’t happened before in USA/world history.

Basically, from what I can understand with this situation, the new team will comprise of multiple different people, people not from Edgebee Studios, “with the exception of one individual, who was the creative genius behind the S&P vision. He’ll continue to do what he’s passionate about, driving the vision for S&P moving forward, and will have a whole team to support his efforts” (http://www.kongregate.com/users/17481130/posts?page=2#posts-8055797).

Which means that the original idea behind the Franchise of S&P will remain the same, as it has been, and it will be what has influenced new users to join the community and remain in the community, despite the lack of bug fixes, keeping the game in Beta, server issues, etc. It appears that the original creator of the S&P Franchise had an idealist approach to the game, but ran into management issues involving Edgebee Studios, specific key/crucial decisions that warranted the game from receiving further support, which led to the lack of bug fixes, new released content, and server issues.

CloudCade has already promised, on multiple occasions, and in multiple postings, that upon acquisition of the S&P Franchise IP rights, they will release a more stable, less buggy version, and eliminate the server issues that are currently plagued in the S&P Franchise as we know it.

So, what are you complaining about!? The player base demanded bug fixes from Edgebee Studios: no reply. The player base demanded new content from Edgebee Studios: no reply. The player base demanded the server connection issues to be fixed by Edgebee Studios: no reply. CloudCade is formed and immediately responds to all 3 issues: problem solved!

For those of you that assume that the approach will be similar to that of companies in the past that have simply “renamed” their logo’s in an attempt to acquire more customers and more money, but also applying confusion to the customer-base, such as, Cingular/AT&T, then allow me to remind you a similar example of the world’s past history that we all are reminded of at E3.

Nintendo had been in partnership with Sony Music for a very long time, but in 1988, they proposed a new type of CD-ROM type of disc, rather than a cartridge, as an add-on, and they proposed for Sony to make this type of disk. Nintendo was most unimpressed for seemingly unknown reasons, and realized that there was an issue with the contract. Long story short, Nintendo attempted to sue Sony multiple times for Nintendo and Sony’s fallout, where Sony knew that they had the perfect idea that Nintendo had rejected. In 1994, Sony finally released the official Playstation One in Japan and in 1995 for North America.

If that falling out had never of happened, then no one would’ve ever known about the Sony Playstation Console Franchise or its predecessors and the the entire gaming industry would’ve remained in Nintendo’s hands, while still using cartridges, probably to this very day!

Reference article: http://classicgames.about.com/od/consoleandhandheldgames/p/History-Of-The-Sony-Playsation-Kick-Starting-The-Disc-Revolution.htm

=======

So, you see, a falling out can be a bad thing, but it can also be a very good thing. Sometimes it’s for the best, and sometimes it’s a grueling process that must be done in order for the future success of a glorious franchise that people have come to love and care about. That is what is happening here.

So, please, take this into consideration when viewing CloudCade’s official response updates and releases. Also, take into consideration that Edgebee is remaining silent during all of this. CloudCade has made their case, now let’s support them and make sure that they stick to their promises, rather than have us lack support for them and lack support for the S&P Franchise!

Topic: Swords & Potions 2 / kicked from a city or bug?

There are no devs that would respond to this, as of right now.

You can be kicked from a city prior to logging out, but the cache won’t refresh until after the page is refreshed; thus, when you log back in, it shows the new city. The mayor not responding is typically a clue of your being kicked.

Topic: GemCraft Labyrinth / How does the +/- additional waves get affected by the Multiplier selection?

Hi, so that title doesn’t make enough sense as to the question that I’m referring to. Basically, what seems like an easy/common sense decision, becomes a completely game-changing confused choice.

When I go back to older levels on GCL, I select certain parameters that I think I can handle. For example:

I go to D13

  • I select Double Monsters
  • I select 50% Hit Points
  • Armored Only
  • +10 Waves
  • Higher monster armor
  • Faster speed

I reached all the way to Wave 18, but could not beat it, under any circumstance of strategy. So, the most logical thing to do would be to decrease the number of waves by 5, which should mean that I can beat it with ease, using the same strategies? Dead wrong.

Apparently, something unknown happens with the background configuration of selecting more or less waves that are sent out. Apparently, it’s not pre-configured and changes based on the number of waves that a level has.

Here’s how the new configuration looks:

  • I select Double Monsters
  • I select 50% Hit Points
  • Armored Only
  • +5 Waves
  • Higher monster armor
  • Faster speed

When selecting to only have an additional +5 Waves sent out for D13, while leaving everything else the same, including the same strategy that allowed me to reach Wave 18 in the first place, it becomes more difficult. I cannot beat Wave 11, now that I have subtracted 5 Waves from the total wave-count.

My question is referring to this change. How does it change? What exactly changes? Is it random or is it pre-configured based on the number of wave selections made? Is there anyway to counter this extremely odd change?

Edit: When beating it with every setting the same, same strategy, etc., but only using Normal wave amount, then it’s beatable.

I think we should have the ability to add a setting for a set amount of time to auto-delete the “Game Messages,” in our inbox. Also, we should have the option to manually delete the “Game Messages,” one-by-one.

Examples for a set amount of time would be 30 days, 60 days, and 90 days as the final option.

This will help maintain server space for Kongregate and it’ll help clean up the pages for those perfectionists, like me!

Vaycaypolis, 164k Private City. LF lvl 20+, E Rating, offering Help! PM for invite or details!

I am responsible for making and maintaining two useful guides on S&P2.

Beginner’s Guide to S&P2: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1mJF2xb2ObriZGwuftB1JVQtqKnVbJT7s7Z9ksKy9od0/edit?usp=sharing

Our town is very helpful with one another. We occasionally do business deals together (in-game) involving items that we may need for progression. Other times we make Quest Items for each. We often invite random people to browse our wares in the city for a possible purchase from them.

We’re also very laid back, yet not too lazy. We don’t mind what you do with your time in the game, but we do have a max of 30 day inactive policy before you are kicked.

Here are the town rules: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1xi7141Q1DnUlk8-aBrO8b2xZzjbf_BLv2os1FtUOqtA/edit?usp=sharing

Topic: Kongregate / Suggestions

So, we have a Favorite Games and the ability to “Fan” a user, but why not make the ability to “Favorite” a user?

Favoriting a user would dictate that you wish to follow that user very closely – their feeds, postings of comments, postings of new games, etc. This idea is originally intended towards being able to follow releases of new games for that specific user. It would make it easier if a sequel to our favorite game came out, but the author of it forgot to release a message to those who favorited the game. On top of this, they don’t necessarily post about similar related games. For example, I have favorited Bubble Tanks, but I’ve never heard (in the past 3 years on here) of Bubble Tanks Tower Defense, only to realize that there’s already a number 2 out!

So, yeah, being able to follow closely a specific user for specific reasons would be nice.

Topic: Kongregate / Kong Kred Ad Exploitation

I don’t really know where to post this, so, here goes nothin’.

I went on to my usual game (Swords and Potions 2) and an advertisement popped up claiming that I’ll be paid 1 Kred for watching a simple video. Turns out it was an entertaining Dodge Charger video involving old people. So, out of curiosity, I closed it after getting paid and clicked the video, again. Sure enough, it paid me another Kred 2 minutes later.

I’m not sure how many times I can click this same video, but earning 1 Kred every 1 minute 18 seconds, while remaining on the same page, with the same advertisement sounds like quite the exploitation to me.

I hope it’s capped at 3 views, but I’m not into exploitation, so I didn’t try. Also, most advertisements only pay per unique visitor/viewer, so me clicking it multiple times means that Kongregate is losing money.

To be perfectly clear about the intentions of this post: I am not attempting to spread this among people as a means of deliberate exploitation, I’m trying to report this to Kongregate, but was unsure of where to post it.

Wiki is wrong. It says that “Long Sword” (For Blacksmith) gives access to Fire sword, but on the contrary, it’s the next level up “Claymore” that gives Fire Sword.

Topic: Kongregate / Suggestions

I hope someone sees this awesome suggestion.

OK, short story. Me (my comment) and 517 other people (the +’s of the comment) made it possible for the game “10” to acquire achievements and a bright future towards a sequel. No, we didn’t make the game or engineer the achievements, but our support helped make it happen. However, by sheer, dumb, luck, I barely came on within the last few hours to see that there was new achievements and a special Kongregate achievement for that week to earn 20 points! Yet, if I hadn’t of gotten extremely lucky, then I’d of missed that special achievement and I’d of felt bad for not being there to get it.

My suggestion, is if we rate the game (1-5 stars), comment on the game, favorite the game, or follow the game in any way that can currently be tracked on Kongregate, then should receive a message notification or an email notification (if we chose to receive it), notifying us of any changes to the games that we follow. A simple message stating: “10, the game, now has achievements and for a limited time you can receive 20 Kongregate points as a special achievement! You can do so by following this link: kongregate.com/XYZ

Is that really so hard to ask? I just feel bad for those other 517 people that may have missed that lovely special achievement that only lasted one week, and can be obtained in a matter of 10 (hehe) minutes!

P.S. 10 (hehe) hours ago, someone commented on this thread before me! :P

Topic: Technical Support / Badges Not Working

My plug is red, but it still displays the badges as completed, without giving me an actual date of completion, and I don’t remember ever playing the game. This has done this to be for 5 different games and keeps doing it. I know for a fact that I have internet connection because I can download a file right here and now that is 1MB in size in less than 1 second. I reloaded the pages several times to no avail.

Just something to add in the backlogs.

Server Motherboards use 10-core and 12-core CPUs. They also have server motherboards that allow dual-CPUs to be running at the same time.

Just something to think on to help out the 0.001% of the population using SimTyrant with server motherboards, or to respond to future development of PCs before they are released. But, other than that, I absolutely love the multi-core support, as it boosts my speed significantly using Dual-Core! :D

Topic: Tyrant: General Tyrant Discussion / Evaluate Decks (game simulator)

Hey guys, I’m just visiting as I’m slowly coming back after my 4 month+ break from the game. I am glad to see the immense progress that has come along since I was gone. Plus, I am most certainly glad that the Fansite has finally gotten new API for linking deck submission percentages to Fansite!

I will download and attempt to test the new IterateDecks build (1.0.3) and I’ll be sure to report any bugs (depending on how well I know how to use it).

EDIT: Runs properly for me on Windows XP 32-bit. I ran 100k sims in 13sec (I think that’s faster than before). How do you post these results to Fansite by chance?

I’m confused, who can’t figure out to use this wonderful simulator?

And yes, Darkblood is spot-on to my purpose, with the exception that he did not include that my purpose was also meant for editing the deck – if you copy someone’s deck hash, you cannot currently post this onto fansite in anyway, without manually running the sim, then entering the following cards one-by-one. With this method, you can auto-generate a deck for users of the more simple-minded class, and since this is meant to be an easy-to-use and bit-sized simulator, then this would only improve it’s capabilities. That way you can edit anyone’s decks with ease, without having to manually enter each card in on Fansite using their deck creator.

P.S. The old, rusty EvalDecks GUI simulator still does this by creating the deck, then clicking on the “wireless” symbol, then it’ll automatically open a tab in your main browser and show the deck using Fansite’s deck creator.

Suggestion:

Make it so that when you click to generate links, one of those links will link your deck hash and the other will link the enemy deck hash to fansite – if a mission, then link to the mission.

For example, if your tile’s slot 1 is Mission 228, then the opponent’s commander is Typhon Eclipse. When you mouse over the commander in Fansite, it shows “Card: 1209”.
http://tyrant.40in.net/kg/mission.php?id=316

In this case, the commander is Typhon Eclipse[1209].

Thanks. But there’s currently no easy way of doing this such as copying the deck hash, pasting it, then subbing in the commander using 1209 or 1210. So, I have to sub in every single card individually.

Hi guys, I’m back after not being on this page for a long while and I’m sort of in the process of quitting Tyrant, but I was making a document to give credit to makers and contributors of the original EvalDecks – which is now IterateDecks – before I got slammed with responsibilities for a billion different other things (amazing, how I have no job, but 10hrs of my day I am working on crap). So, would I post this somewhere on the github or something for anybody that wishes to finish the credit work that I’ve done? I believe I was somewhere on page 15 or so on this forum thread before I stopped and ran into a bunch of other responsibilities.

It’s only 1 page long and has 10 names on it, so it’s not much, but it’s something I guess. I just didn’t want it to go to complete waste and figured that someone else could finish it. So, lemme know the proper place to post this document (I can post it on my personal Google Docs and give the volunteer permission to download it), for if someone wants to finish where I left off.
