No reason to buy more if you can’t use them up. Most of the items you would spend gems on are permanent, and other purchases don’t provide enough incentive for people to spend. More temporary/consumable premium purchase options could potentially result in an increased and consistent gem flow. Of course, by doing so – you could potentially damage the game in an irreversible way. Cause and effect.

Unlimited bunnies would encourage me to try to use up all my gems, assuming he doesn’t tamper with the current egg rates. There is absolutely nothing to use gems on right now.

Since this thread has seen kingk’s attention, might as well mention this.
The Dream World community has, for the most part, split between two categories. Most people view progress in one of two ways: player stats and base level. For whatever reason, people are starting to view leveling as anti-progress. Some (let’s call them mainlanders) would rather invest their time building up stats.

As a mainlander, I can probably say that most of the newer content does not apply to me – the game has not changed much from the perspective of a mainlander since the release of the Possessed Bosses (big game changer, by the way). Monster Arena was also a nice addition. Not sure what can be done – but something to refresh the mainland experience would be interesting.

Another thing that would be nice to see:
The cool new thing seems to be in “temporary buffs”. Currently we have genius and heroic. More temporary buffs, if worth buying, can generate another consistent gem flow into the game.

One potential “temporary buff” (I haven’t thought about the details or consequences, just throwing it out there):
- A buff that temporarily doubles card chance. Card hunters will be encouraged to play, and it will encourage players to boss more, thereby wasting more money on Hell openings and the like. The card drop rates are probably low enough as is, doubling it will give players that extra hope and motivation.

That’s the only one I thought of that could cause a lot more activity in the game. Other temporary buffs could include increased encounter rates for Wells, etc. – however, there are probably some pretty big consequences for these buffs, so they probably need more thought put into them first.

They should just turn it on permanently. I don’t even play on weekdays. :)

Topic: Dream World / Best Attack Build Tactic

Mainland is even more of a coin sink on weekdays since the 50% coin bonus isn’t active, so I would advise against misting there on a weekday unless you have a bunch of coin or gems to spare. However, if you’re only planning to use the energy you gain regularly at mainland on weekdays, I would still say it’s worth it. If you would like to see the power of mainlanding, take a look at grgrsennin[E!C], currently ranked number 50 on the card bonus rankings. Only level 86, 692/206/664/679/710 with bonuses, but only 635715 mobs defeated.

Guardian of Dreams encounters seem to be less likely on mainland when compared to Poseidon or Faction Wars. This doesn’t mean your box drop rate is lower on mainland though. Enchant potions are more likely on mainland, 10 successes will get you a box. Higher treasure chest encounter rate also means you’ll get more gems and be more likely to get Arena Passes (each pass can potentially get you two enchants and two boxes). Every 10 possessed bosses will also get you a box, not to mention defeating one will get you another enchant or box.

The two times that I went to Poseidon, the Guardian of Dreams encounter rate seemed to be higher than anywhere else. However, since we (conveniently) don’t have any hard evidence, we can’t claim one area has a higher encounter rate than another area. Some people just have better luck in certain areas than others. In the end, you should try each area for yourself and see what works best for you.

During a restat, the plus button fails to work if you’re trying to add points to a stat that is greater than 1300. You can, however, manually type in a value greater than 1300.

That one level 8 character on the hotnfilthy account has the talisman, so it looks like you don’t really need level 75 to obtain it – you just need to unlock and use one of the final classes.

Topic: Dream World / Attack or Skill Points?

Use both! You can keep a separate armor and weapon that gives you a boost in intelligence/skill points and equip them right before you use a fairy dust. Even if you switch back to your attack gear, you will still keep the extra skill points from the intelligence/skill points gear.

Topic: Dream World / There's something wrong with a guild.

Those are probably remnants of someone’s bot experiment. The bots don’t look like they’re being maintained, seeing as how they haven’t learned how to drop cards yet. If that’s intentional – well, they aren’t really progressing at a very alarming rate, just using daily energy probably. Interesting, but no big threat.

The intention was to offer workarounds/explanations of things he wanted to get fixed. Carbine15’s intention was there and valid. Unfortunately, the tone I picked up from the original post was for the most part, negative. However, he’s right, I was not here four years ago, so I have no base to refute him there. Therefore, I replace what I don’t know with my own experiences – which, assuming the numbers provided are accurate, have changed drastically to a point where the original post seemed to be exaggerated and unbelievable. I was also fairly offended when a comment was made to another Dream World veteran about how he must not be playing the game right or can’t read, hence the hostility.

I’ve been playing this game long enough to know that most suggestions aren’t even considered. In fact, I think this entire suggestions thread is pointless now that the developers have moved on to other projects. The only thing that can be done to help other players is attempt to patch the problems by offering information or workarounds.

After the thread turned into a debate about who never said what and who put what words in whose mouths, the whole thread got pretty pointless. Conflict aside, mrwiggs8 and I were trying to help, and will continue to do so.

This post is probably going to cause more issues, but hopefully it doesn’t.

EDIT: Grammar and stuffs.

Topic: Dream World / Official Suggestions Thread

To be honest, I was about to post a similar response, but refrained.

You said you’re not complaining, but your last post determined that was a lie. Honestly, it just seems like you’re not playing enough to know what the mechanics are supposed to be like. Trying really hard not to be rude here.

While yes, 15 levels to find the relic may seem (and probably is) extremely high, the game has been modified since so that your leveling speed increases drastically. People can easily get from level 1 to 60 now, but the game wasn’t originally designed that way.

We heard you the first time. MYTHIC swords will be following you up until you reach level 102. People have suggested a change which has not been acknowledged, so players have since accepted it and have moved on. After level 55, gear must be obtained via Demon Gates, Alien Portals, and Mystery Boxes, so you shouldn’t expect level 70 drops to be flooding you like the level 56 items.

It’s a whole new world after level 55. You should not be expecting the same drops from mainland as you do in Demon Gates. The drop rate there is significantly lower, and there are no beggars – so getting 5 items is good. At your level, you shouldn’t be giving coins to the beggar to receive items, you should be paying the beggar for energy instead. If you pay her too much, she’ll always give you a level 56 item, even if you’re level 102. Don’t accuse someone of not playing right without understanding all of the mechanics first.

The inventory is screwed up, yes. But players have since figured out workarounds to that. There’s a way to get it so that the items don’t jump around. After you manually assign an order to your items (it will probably take you 30 seconds to do this, but it will take the developer hours [and then some] to debug and fix.), it is no longer a problem.

The whole point of the term ‘soft capping’ refers to the point in time where pills will no longer drop from puzzles or treasures. Mystery Boxes have a 16% percent chance of dropping a pill. Players have had dry spells where they open 50 boxes but don’t find any pills. This is all part of the game. It’s just statistics, and you’re an outlier.

When new expansions are released, the higher level players are basically doing what you are. They’ll take most (if not all) of the damage from Hells, and do more than 12 of them in a day. That is about 0% experience. 1% at most. The experience needed for leveling grows exponentially, which is unlike most games, but that’s just how Dream World works and has always worked. Players just need accept and get used to it.

With each expansion that comes out, players that are lower leveled indirectly benefit. Sure the expansion is designed for high level players only, but each expansion also allows another tier of gear to be vaulted (which many, many, many, many people take for granted). Back when Demon Gates and Portals was still new, people had to do what you did to get gear they wanted. Now that these expansions have aged, players can join guilds that will basically feed them new gear and let them sit on a high experience bonus. If you’re the big contributor in your guild, then you need to either get used to it or move to a guild that provides a better leveling environment for you.

There’s a bigger world out there, you just need to take the leap. The people of Dream World can help.

Topic: Dream World / Kingk if you neglect

I think people need to understand the fact that this is game has been online for three years. It’s old, and it is no longer a priority for the developers. While user interface cosmetics and hot keys for convenience is a plus for the whole player base, adding those features will probably not contribute much to an increase in revenue, so it might not make sense to invest the resources for implementing these features. Perhaps if the entire player base expressed interest in purchasing these features, it would be a different story. Also, their code base is pretty old, so a lot of Dream World is running on brittle legacy code that requires a large amount of effort to implement something that may seem quite simple in today’s age.

If these lack of features are inconvenient to a point where it becomes game-breaking, then people will start to quit the game. Maybe if enough people quit, the feature will be important enough to implement. Let nature run its course.

Topic: Dream World / some questions about allies

As a mage, I use a (25/1/25) Eli because she has no block, no protect aura, and level 1 heal. This makes me take more damage, which makes the Talisman hurt more.

Flag Post

Topic: Dream World / some questions about allies

1.)
Eli is 60 gems.
Huntress is 64 gems.
Valkyrie is 50 gems.
Lilith is 56 gems.
Correct me if I’m wrong. This is from memory.

2.)
Level 1 weaken is -10.0% defense.
Level 25 weaken is -14.8% defense.

Let x be the amount of damage you do without any ally weakens.
If you use level 1, level 24, level 1, and level 25 weakens, your damage will be (1.1 * 1.148 * 1.1)x or 1.38908×.
Only three weakens will count, and I’m assuming the fourth level 25 weaken will not replace one of the level 1 weakens. I have not tested this, so this may be inaccurate.

Your damage when using level 1, level 1, and level 25 weakens would be (1.1 * 1.1 * 1.148)x or 1.38908×.
Your damage when using level 1, level 25, and level 25 weakens would be (1.1 * 1.148 * 1.148)x or 1.4496944×.
The maximum damage from ally weakens (level 25, level 25, and level 25) would be 1.512953792×.

3.)
Depending on how active you are on mainland and what level you are, those allies can be easily bought. A non-gemmer should have no trouble buying all four of the allies if they are consistently active.
Of the four allies, I would say that Lilith is the least necessary. Like you said, if you are able to survive a boss with Protect Aura, you can use Valkyrie and it would only take you a little bit more time to down a boss in one energy.

Topic: Dream World / Town Leader Cards

The quest will work, as long as you defeat said mob, you should have a chance despite mob stats being altered.
Frog cards are available in both the level 1 and level 51 areas, so mobs with altered health, damage, etc. should not matter.

That being said, the “The Challenge” quest is pretty useless and is not worth doing. I think it gives you a skill ring that increases your SP by 50?

Topic: Dream World / fallen card

It’s probably working as the developers have implemented it, but I suspect that it’s not working as intended.
For ‘acquire card on death’ bosses such as Mystics, Poseidon, Fallen (not sure about how Mothership Card drops), you have a chance to get the card every time you fight and die against the boss. (I tried running away from a Mystic, did not yield any experience and coins.)

For example’s sake, let’s say a 5 star card will drop at a 0.5% chance when defeating a regular 5-star mob such as any Isendel or Mine boss or the lower Monster Arena opponents. Perhaps the developers thought that since you get 10 hits against the acquire card on death bosses, maybe they should set the chance at 0.05%. The problem is that 10 chances at 0.05% is NOT the same as a single 0.5% chance. If the cards do follow this theory, then Poseidon is much rarer than Princess Anithea, and Fallen is much rarer than any of the other 5-star boss cards.

Of course, this is just speculation. Only the developers can confirm or deny this theory.
