Topic: Off-topic / Mcdonalds Employee (Advice Please)

So I’ve been working at Mcdonalds for about a month or so. I was doing just food production for the first few weeks. Whether it be doing toast and bake in the morning, or flipping burgers and frying up the chicken and fish. I love it! It’s so simple and takes my mind off of the rough times I’ve been facing in life. Well, one day I’m offered this maintenance job. I don’t give a direct yes or no, but I said I would strongly consider it.

So before I go further, I explain what being a maintenance at Mcdonalds entails (as far as I know right now). You have to unload stock off of the truck that comes on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 5 in the morining. We’re talking about many heavy boxes! Not to mention, you have to rotate them by their due dates. You have to do that fr the freezer, cooler, and stock room. Lovely. Also, you have to filter the fryers of the fries and the chicken and fish fryers. And you have to take out the trash, sweep outside and change the garbage bins. There are extra little things too. But then they keep calling me to go at 5 to do truck, and before I know it, I’m now becoming the replacement of the maintenance guy who’s been teaching me. Let’s just say is fairly advanced in age and a bit odd in the noggin’. As hard as I try to make the best of it, there are times in the mornings where it’s difficult to get along with him. I have to ride my bike every morning on tues thurs and sat to make it at 5 to unload heavy boxes with this guy, filter, sweep, mop, take out tons of cardboard boxes and heavy trash bags. I’m not weak either, I work out fairly often too. It’s just a bit of a hastle to do it all at a fast pace early in the morning. So now I have two jobs at Mconalds. I don’t enjoy maintenance at all. I enjoy grill so much more! And I keep riding my bike early and especially when the weather is at the peak of becoming worse. They’re desperate, they need an official replacement, but this is honestly physically, mentally, and emotionally draining me. I come home wore out of my mind, sad, and unsatisfied. I feel stuck in this stupid job. I’ve been wanting to tell a manager how I want to go back to just grill, but… I hate to say it but I’m scared of how they’ll react and what they’ll say. And I’m having a hard time of finding the right time to do it. I’ve been doing this for a few weeks now. I hope it’s not too late, if ever. I don’t want to do this anymore, I can’t. It’s taking a toll on me in several ways. I apologize for making this all so long. I felt better explaining as much as I could so that maybe you could understand where I’m coming from. Haha, I feel weak complaining about it, but it’s really wearing me out truly. Please, can you help me? Any advice at all? I’m so desperate and feel down right now…

It has happened to me many times. I believe it has something to do with your wires being somewhat messed up.

I’m pretty sure this post was a joke (I apologize if my assumption is wrong). I doubt it was posted as a means for people to dwell deeply into.

I’ve been (according to law) an adult for almost a year. The realization hits you every now and then, depending on what’s going on in your life. It can be saddening and great at times.

Topic: Serious Discussion / Children

Another thing to take into consideration is a child may have more than one of the types or somewhat all that you listed. 1. I was sort of like that. I was respectful of others. 2. I have witnessed and have dealt with those type of children countless times, it’s sometimes almost unbearable. 3. They can be quite irritating. I could go on for hours with this type. But all in all, these types can vary in many ways; a child could be respectful, but cry over a lot of things, another could be bratty to their family, but respectful to others. Another child could be very respectful to others, yet cry over the littlest things. And lastly, a child could possibly somewhat harbor all of the types. The child that contains a great amount of stubbornness, I really get irritated with. Whether it be they’re picky about things, not eating their food, complaining about a lot of things, being ungrateful about things you do for them. Things of that nature. Another thing to take into consideration is that children shouldn’t be categorized by these three types. There’s much more to a child than that. I envy children, really. I am so fond of the innocence that most have, and the joy and the carefree environments they go through. They’re quite fascinating.

Topic: Serious Discussion / Is it right to kill one person to save the lives of many?

You have to consider the possible outcomes that can happen in an event of you killing Hitler as a baby. But thinking about it strongly, I don’t see any negative outcomes from it. If anything, positive things and non-negative outcomes would happen if it were possible. But I’m pretty sure Hitler is not the only reason as to why it happened the way it did. I more see it as he was more of the catalyst. I’m not fully sure though.

I don’t the movie is a serious thing, nor should it be taken seriously. People just need to sit back and enjoy some humor sometimes.

Topic: Off-topic / Something short, sweet & simple

Do you ever go on a post like this? Expecting it to be a short, sweet and simple sentence or two that will introduce a conversation… But ends up in a long paragraph that you honestly don’t feel like putting forth the effort and time in reading? You’re thinking to yourself, “Wow, this person has a lot of free time, and he/she must think I do to read this”. Do you even just click on the title and once you see it’s a long paragraph or a dissertation, you click back to the Off Topic page? Sometimes long paragraphs that people post to start a conversation on OT will consist of a story they had one afternoon, or even irrelevance. It could even be about controversial things. Who knows? You’re always in for a surprise. You never know what will await you after you click on the title. It can be calming and it can be nerve wracking. It amazes me sometimes how people will take the time to read long paragraphs by other Off Topic folks. Oh well. I just wanted to say something simple! Hope you enjoyed.

To me, that is not okay whatsoever. You see, a few years ago, I was so confused on the concept of bisexuality because this girl had a boyfriend and a girlfriend. I always felt there was something wrong with that. I mean… I suppose if all partners consent… to each his own.

We have rights?
But on a serious note, perhaps. Probably not as much exercised.

Certainly.

Exterminate all sentient life on the planet.

If that’s a bit extreme for you, another potential solution is to eliminate free will planet-wide and establish a single control-bloc for the resultant drones.

Of course the other potential solution is to eliminate all laws and rules planet-wide so that no action is ever a crime, and enforce against the future creation of laws, rules, or conventions with extreme prejudice. The resulting chaos will topple any advanced civilisation, or civilisation at all for that matter. Even anarchy has rules.

Any other attempted solution is going to run afoul of differences of opinion between sentient minds, as well as “the grass is greener” syndrome. Or even run afoul of someone plain not paying attention when controlling something dangerous.

I absolutely loved this; especially the first sentence. But this is probably the best answer that we will all ever receive to be honest.

Topic: Serious Discussion / We need more safety!

1. They’re nowhere near perfection. Some smoke and drink, but they’re not supposed to on the job.
2. Well of course they should.
3. Well, it should be consensual in my opinion. Otherwise, I would view that as rape.
4. Not all the time, but yeah it does happen.
5. Eh, kind of disagree with this.
6. Yeah, irrelevance stuff.
7. Not all, but yes, it occurs.

We need awareness. We need to be aware of our surroundings and be aware with all in all- society.
