Topic: Kongregate Labs / uploading a game

I know RawGamer’s post was a year ago but I’m sure other noobs will read this too. Don’t stop uploading your new games. It’s probably the only way you’ll get real feedback and help from veterans to help you improve. Also if you learn what people like and don’t like to see in games.

sorry about the formatting.

@seneskis the container is smaller the stage. In my code i’m assuming that I can position the particles relative to the container since the code is in the container.

Is there a better way i should be trying to do it?

Topic: Game Programming / Blowing particles

sorry for the break off… but here’s the code that i have inside the “blowing” MC:

onClipEvent(load){
particles = 30;
}
onClipEvent(enterFrame){
for(i=0;i<particles;i++){
p = attachMovie(“wp”,"wp"+i,i);
p.alpha = random(100)5;
p.y = random(this.height)
1
p.x = this._width+2;
p.onEnterFrame =function(){
if(p.
x >= 0){
p.
x++
}else{
p.removeMovieClip();
}
}
}
}
I’m sure I could be going about this completely wrong. So if you have any ideas or can refer me to a helpful tut Thanks in advance :)

Topic: Game Programming / Blowing particles

Hello all,

I’m a bit of noob. I’m still using as2. Here’s my problem:

I’m designing a platform game and there’s part of the game where there is wind. I would like to make dust particles that are the user can see being blown across the windy area.

I’ve tried a few different things and even modified some “snow” code. But i can’t seem to get it to work.

I have a MC called “blowing” which serves as a container for the dust particles. This is the code I have INSIDE
