The game doesn’t save progress at all, and there was a typo with one of the statistics that kept it from reporting correctly, but everything should be a-ok now.

The occasional fatsos which automatically break your combo
I haven’t run into this. You can swipe or tap down when in the middle of a jump to cancel that animation and immediately go straight to the ground. You can easily avoid jumping over normal zombies this way.

Thanks. Would you (and anyone else!) mind doing me an extra favor? We really want to find out what the cause of the issues is before we badge any more html5 games. The current running theory is that it’s a cookie (probably a Kong-related one) that somehow conflicts with the API interactions with html5 games. Would anyone who has had issues earning either of these two badges mind installing a cookie managing extension/plugin (like this one for chrome or this one for firefox ) and take a screenshot of the cookies you have associated with Kongregate (like this for example)? I know this is a lot of work, but no one in the office had any issues earning any of the badges, so we need a little help in reproducing this in order to figure out what the problem is and get a fix started.

Can anyone who had issues with either game and don’t have badges yet turn off addons/scripts/extensions/etc and try again? Did any of the people who had their progress stop tracking on Magnetized install any new scripts/etc between the sessions when their progress stopped tracking?

I’ve also encountered a problem with the Magnetized hard badge. After level 56, the game stops recording the high scores.
Did you take a break and come back after level 56 before you beat 57 or was it all in one session?

It’s not a big deal. The game takes ~5 minutes to beat if you know what you’re doing, so I figured you might have tried it yourself.

It seems to be an issue with FF. If any of you folks having a hard time earning the badge could try Chrome (or Opera) and see if it works there, that’d be great.

It took me 280 deaths to finish just because of random spin near big cube.
If you aim right at that blue spot directly and get stuck on it, it’s pretty random. If you aim considerably above or below it and orbit it by carefully toggling on and off your magnetism as you need to, it’s pretty easy. On my second time through, I died less than 10 times on that level where the first one took me ~200 to figure that out.

Both Magnetized and no-one has to die. are html5 games (the first ones to be badged, in fact!). We don’t have a way to host html5 games directly on Kong, so they have to be iframed for the time-being while we sort an upload system up. That’s why they’re in iframes.

How to Test Kongregate API
Yep, you can definitely upload the game and keep it in a preview state (don’t publish it) and test the API there using the web console in chrome or firefox (and probably other browsers). If you have any more questions about this, feel free to email apisupport@kongregate.com.

I honestly didn’t see your suggestion for the medium name, but I suppose great minds think alike. I blatantly borrowed Prec’s name on purpose because it’s awesome.
Re: the medium badge, if you’re not beating each level on hard and getting 100% on every monster mode level, it takes about 20-25 levels to earn the medium. If you’re invested in the game enough that you’re getting 100% of available cores as you go along, I don’t really think you need a bridge between the medium and the hard. If I set it much higher, lots of people who aren’t mix/maxing the entire game will have to play through basically the whole game anyway before getting the medium.

There’s still discussion whether there should be another hard or an imp, so there’s a possibility of more :D
There’s definitely not going to be an imp. I may add a hard for collecting a lot of cores… but insane mode really doesn’t appear universally fun in a way that the rest of the game is so I’m not sure I want to encourage people to try it with badges. Like all things, people are still more than welcome to earn all the cores if they want and are enjoying the game, it’s just not a mode I’m entirely comfortable adding badges for.

when will kong raise level limit
I don’t like how admin ignore these kinds of threads. I mean yeah, they pop up all the time, but they should care a little more about making sure people feel like they are being heard.
I actually responded in a similar thread to this one a few months back and our position hasn’t really changed. I still consider it something that should be addressed, but just haphazardly raising the level cap from 65 to 100 or whatnot doesn’t really fix anything. I still wouldn’t expect a change on this front in the near future, but we definitely have some ideas for how we can make this system better and will hopefully be addressing it when we are done with more pressing changes to the site.
