well, i’ve done a, b, c and n, o and p
I’m dividing the alphabet into two halves, and release one from each half at the same time, totaling in 13 releases of 26 5-track albums. I already did 1-9, so once I finish with these, there will be a total of 175 tracks

I could make you sound effects, but what do you mean by dynamic in terms of the music? Could you be more specific? Here’s some of my music for reference:

Topic: The Arts / LEVEL MUSIC! (Original compositions with Super Nintendo Soundfonts)

Originally posted by TheWhiteAngel:

Anyway, so I’ve pretty much listened to all 45 of them in iTunes, and I think most of them are pretty good and then some of them don’t fit what you describe them as. i.e. I think Outside Ruin City gives a feeling that isn’t anything like a ruined city and whatnot. I still think you have moments to perfect.

My other big concern is that you’ve done it the opposite way around to usual game design. You’ve thought of the levels and then the music that would go with them in your head, which gives you the full control in a project where somebody wants to make 45 levels of platforming, etc. using these.

In reference to the first issue, that’s a valid criticism at this point, since it’s hard to tell the atmosphere of the level without a game to compare it to. I feel, however, that I can make the level such as to capture the mood of this specific tune. I was thinking more action-oriented, somewhere along the lines of a game like Gunstar Heroes.

That ties into the other concern you brought up. There’s no doubt that this will be a challenge to pull together, especially considering the unorthodox methodology behind it. In the end though, I feel like this will create more of an unpredictable contour for the difficulty/complexity of the game itself, which I think is a tiring flaw in most games. I think there should be a variance in difficulty throughout the game, not just that from the starting levels to the ending levels. The specifics at this point are still under consideration, but I’m thinking of having some sort of story-driven gameplay, no matter what sort of game it ends up being.

Thanks so much for taking the time to listen to it all the way through, I’ll take what you said into consideration!

Hey! I’ve got the idea of writing a soundtrack to a video game, and finding a team of people to make it into a video game from there. I’ve already written 45 level themes since I began in November of 2010. This completes the beta version of the project. From here, I’ll write more themes, boss themes, menu music, fanfares, etc. to turn it into a full blown vgm soundtrack. For now though, this site has links to download every individual volume (or all of them together) for free! You can also listen to the songs individually on my youtube account.

I put up a wrong link last time, but here’s the actual site:

Topic: Collaborations / Want 16-bit-era sounding music for your game?

I’m Max, and I’m majoring in Studio Composition at SUNY Purchase. I’d love to make music for your game! No payment is necessary at this point in my career, I’m just in it for the experience. For a sample of what I’ve been doing, check here:

Please, let me know if you’d like to work with me! I’m very eager to start collaborating.

@riotmedic:
Thanks! I use Logic Pro.

@NinjaWolf1473:
If the game makes money, I’d gladly accept a portion, but if it doesn’t then I’m very willing to work for free! I’m not too concerned about getting payed just yet in my career, so you don’t need to worry about that too much. Besides, that sounds like something I’d have a lot of fun with! Count me in!

Thank you guys!

Isn’t strictly 8bit, as I use a DAW. I’m willing and capable of incorporating orchestral instruments, or anything else. I’m also capable of using super nintendo soundfonts, if you’re looking for something with that sound too!

Let me know if you need anything here, or at maxobrooklyn@gmail.com

Thank you! I hope we can work together in the future.
