The new claim fee should have an option to randomly recycle it into another slot. Perhaps a cost could be involved. I’m getting too many of these, and they are making my journeys useless. Thanks.

Topic: Realm Grinder / Suggestion for Incarnations

The offline one is the only one I’m freaked out about. I might even try a clock change trick to get it. I managed to get all the time trophies previous to the update before reincarnating, and I’m only missing beard and the offline one. I can deal with Beard, but the offline one seems counter intuitive to me. What do they give a trophy for NOT playing their game?!

This would totally screw with my “no clicker” game, but it’s an interesting idea. I suppose it won’t screw with LEET since people will all have it by then. The simplest solution to any problems would be to be able to turn it on and off in options.

Or since he’s proposing it as an upgrade, not buying it.

Thanks. Didn’t see that part.

I can confirm that you DO break the combo for the purposes of the Perfect Combo trophy /only/, by casting other spells inbetween. I did not unlock the trophy for myself until the spell’s info said I had used it 131 times. And 31 is right around when I remember breaking the spell combo. So don’t be fooled by the fact that the spell’s bonus and counter remain steady. If you’re going after the trophy, you ARE breaking your combo.

It must have been bugged then fixed. I got it doing multiple spells that only included Combo Strikes.

And I know it’s traditional to rage about new content, but those worried about Faceless nerfs have not taken advantage of the new underground factions. I was reaching my gem gain limit on an over boosted Faceless, but when I got to the new content I started to make a magnitude or more over what I was making then. So really Faceless nerfs are irrelevant.

Thanks again for the game, and for the constant new content.

Topic: The Money Makers / Employee System is Less than Useless

It works if you have something to spend your energy quicker, and you spend it right after you motivate. This appears to be an early game only boost. As your investments grow energy bar in general, and anything associated with it becomes useless. At first however you can get some good starting capital going with motivations.

As for adding employees no clue there. I have a bunch, but I don’t have a clue how I got them, and the devs are talking.

I’d like to see one simple change to Faceless Labyrinth building spell.

Have the frequency reduction linked to how many the spell has created rather than how many you have.

At this point I can CREATE more Labyrinths than the spell gives me. That kinda makes the spell useless, and it kinda sucks.

Did you know Assistants don’t do the normal clicking functions?

It took my “no clicking” run to really see this. I’m noticing it now especially on Faceless as I’m getting no Labyrinth building. I don’t know if this is planned, or an oversight, but I’d think you would make assistants work just as if you are clicking the chest. For everything possibly, but at least for some of the most important stuff.

Well I won’t go into it too far. It would be nice if you readjusted same if you didn’t think it was game breaking. Thanks for your consideration.

This is exactly opposite of a problem. 30 days total in Good gives you the Good’s time trophy. That will make the two nearly even, so you just work to even the two up. Then you spend all your time in Neutral till you get the trophy.

I understand why people want the trophy upgrade. It’s a great one. Perhaps something could be worked out to push time for those with uneven stats, but mostly I don’t see the problem. Seriously. I’m spending the next 2 weeks of game time on pretty much useless faction time to get the Good and Evil time trophies even though I already have Equality. The opposite problem, with a lesser reward.

And if you are a kind of Completionist (like me) and you really feel you NEED all the trophies, well that’s just a THING, and those of us with this obsession just have to work it out. Right?

Milford. I think your points are spot on. Game updates and upgrades are at the heart of keeping continued interest in the game. Mine is but a secondary suggestion for long term considerations. However I have found hard resets to be quite compelling even without proposed perks attached as re-playing the game gives me a new perspective, and abilities to take advantage of the game I didn’t think of before. For example starting fresh in Fairy faction with my no click game I found that (with Gift of Heroes) I was several thousand gems ahead after only a few days there, even without clicking, much less auto clicking.

All for the trollish comment above, or frustrated complaint, or whatever I ask you please don’t try to hijack this thread. You may be frustrated with the Dev’s choices; I may be frustrated at times with the Dev’s choices; but it’s apparent they are paying attention not only to these forums, but to the game itself with their many active updates.

It may not always be what we want, but it’s something! And that’s saying a lot. Also don’t forget there are a whole lot of us, and very few of them, so..well you know..the joy and pain of celebrity..

I notice many posts bemoaning the difficulty, nay impossibility of gaining Equality. I also notice one post that cheerfully compares Equality to the Time Spent Trophies. The latter is right. Equality isn’t all that much harder than getting time spent trophies. It’s associated upgrade is also very nice, so it’s a good goal to get it.

I think the real problem is people don’t want to spend down time in less useful factions getting it. Well that down time is going to be an essential part of pursuing the time trophies if you want them as well, so really now..

I’m pursuing the time spent trophies, and yeah it’s pretty silly. But my goal is to have all the trophies, so I’m putting up with it. (Equality on the other hand was super easy for me. I always kept good and evil fairly balanced. Once the neutral factions kicked in Equality was nearly inevitable.) Anyways while waiting for the time spent trophies to finish I’m doing some other things with the game.

I’m doing a no click game as my active game now. It’s fun to explore the possibilities in the game this way. For those without Gift of Heroes a low click game might also be fun. Another grindy thing to do would be to spend nearly exactly three days in each faction before moving on. I won’t do it, but it might be interesting for some. Other self limits placed on the game can be interesting. Just be sure to clearly mark your save file exports correctly so you don’t lose anything!!

The other thing I’m trying out is I’ve split my main into two factions: Fairy and Elvish*. I’m curious to see how many FC each has gotten at the end of a mostly passive 7 day run. At the end of this I’ll take the one I like and the Good time spent trophy and move on to other pursuits. Probably a Faceless run to take advantage of the time spent in one faction, and then on to the Evil Time trophy.

*the is the Many Worlds Hypothesis as applied to gaming.

With a trophy for 100K clicks in a game, even I am tempted to use auto clicker. Instead, why not have the assistants help out? Here would be the gist:

1. Upgrades available at certain numbers of clicks (100, 500, 1000). Yes idlers you still have to click a little. Sorry.
2. Each upgrade would allow for a % chance an assistant click will count as a human click. (1%, 10%, 25%)
3. Bonus would kick in only when you are idle (no clicks) for 60 seconds OR maybe as part of Blood Frenzy spell
4. No assistant clicks when offline

This is very interesting considering my proposal, or request if you will.

My request is the ability to buy a single assistant in the shop to be constantly active from the beginning of the game.

Now I know many of you will despise the idea of adding one more so called pay4play feature to the game, but let me please remind you this is not an MMO, there is no PvP here, and all competitions here pretty much made up. That is competitions with anyone but yourself VS the game.

And this is why I’d like to see a single buyable assistant.

I’m playing an entirely no click game. (This game is separate from my main game.) This of course is only possible with Gift of the Heroes. At least one other person is playing a minimum click game, and one of their plans is to eventually get all the trophies. Details I’ll leave up to your imagination, or to the thread this person may create to share their joy.

A no click game on the other hand is barred from getting all the trophies. This is fine, and in its own way as elegant as the no click game itself. I’m happy letting go of the clicker trophies as part of the interesting challenge.

On the other hand I do kind of miss not being able to get one secret trophy due to my choices: Building Hater. A single active assistant available at the start of game would fix this nicely.

But with jamesdcarroll’s suggestion above implemented I could have even better! I could actually get the clicker trophies at some point as well. This would frankly be fantastic. So my suggestions are dual:

1] Please consider adding a single assistant to the shop. More than one of these if you want, but more than one would potentially start throwing the game out of balance.

2] Please consider adding jamesdcarroll’s suggestion as well. Enough said.

Thanks again for your consideration, and thanks again for a very engaging game!

NormaTheNorman: lol..I keep getting new employees, and I’m not sure how that’s happening. Just checking in to the game does it? maybe

NormaTheNorman: Legal path was a bit too hard. Never made Lawyer. If I do another run through eventually I’m going to try low level employment only. Rags to riches.

Interesting responses. I hope the Devs read though this dialogue.

The basic consideration I’m proposing is this: What would you give up to keep playing a game you are about to quit anyways?

What would you need for it to be worth it considering (again) you are ABOUT TO QUIT anyways!

Would you prefer stagnation, and giving up the game altogether, or would you prefer starting a new game with a bit of a boost, and a change in perspective due to having played through once already.

I can say as someone who likes the game a lot the NO CLICK (and I mean zero click) game I’m doing now gives me a whole other perspective on game play.

In any case any second tier soft reset would be OPTIONAL! Right? Some of you might eschew it, but if it had any perk associated with it, and you were going to quit anyways, how many of you would take it in spite of severe penalties?

The only trophies I’d be stuck on keeping would be the two long play time ones for the Good and Evil type factions. The rest are easy enough to go after again.

Enjoy your game!

Fair warning: this again involves the topic of free rubies as a possibility, so if that subject makes you crazy sick or over-excited please take your medication first and come back later.

The is a simple idea for keeping some players longer as they reach the peak of the game. Please consider it especially after you feel the game won’t have anymore major updates added.

Simple trade. Once you get all the trophies, or an equivalent game win scenario, a new reset choice is triggered. You then have the choice to do a “next tier” soft, reset where you lose everything other than your paid for perks, and you receive a bonus.

I think the best and simplest bonus would be rubies. This would give some players who didn’t purchase rubies incentive to complete the game. Or it could be some inexpensive upgrade that provides the equivalent – maybe even linked to a trophy. Still I think rubies are the more elegant solution. The number of rubies is up for grabs, but should probably be no less than 5, and no more than 50. You could even add a randomizing element (and one not vulnerable to export cycling) to make it more interesting.

In any case what do you think of the idea of second tier soft resets. I don’t think enough incremental games have them, and I think they could work.

Thanks.

Topic: Realm Grinder / Active play is far too powerful

If people didn’t like the way this game runs they wouldn’t play it so much. It’s quite popular. Perhaps it doesn’t fit exactly into any category perfectly, and like most games many aspects could use improvement, but as the old farts like me say, “Proof is in the pudding.”

Topic: Realm Grinder / Active play is far too powerful

I agree with some of what you’re saying, but I have two contentions with it. First and main contention is this is not necessarily an “Idle” game in the first place. There is no reason an incremental game can’t have both idle, and non-idle elements.

This brings me to my second. Take Angels for example. Angels require a few hours to a couple days to come into peak function. This is the idle aspect. Then you play them in a rather complex, active fashion, and you get very good results from that. You can play those two aspects back and forth for a while even though a few resets. Eventually you can put autocast on CtA and GH, and let it idle that way and get some moderately good results. Eventually everything you can do to Angel is useless, so you have no choice but to move on to a better, Neutral faction.

[I’m back to Angels to round out my trophies after getting Equality in neutral. It appears there is going to be no way to gain significant gem increases here, so I will definitely move on after I get my trophies.]

So this combo of active and inactive is kinda perfect when applied to Angel. I understand some other factions also have idle and non-idle combinations that are useful.

As for Neutral factions the main idle time is waiting for faction coins. Other than this it’s true the three are mostly active play. For the Devs to find balance with these aspects has to be very difficult, and I commend them for their efforts.

I don’t think the active play is “too” powerful. I think it’s just the nature of this game. Many idle games give you benefits for active play. Some games limit this more, some less. This game is definitely more incremental than idle, and really the title says it all. A lot of what this game is is a grinder game.

Enough said for now. I hope you get my points. Thanks for your post, and thanks to the Devs for an interesting game.

Topic: Realm Grinder / New hidden trophy upgrades

Kholai I’m not going to quote you. Those interested in the exchange can go read his post above. My response is: 1] I’ll try it again once I start another Druid run. I’m too far into it now to try, and 2] I can’t imagine the Devs intended to created such a convoluted, temporary, and hard to manage boost. I still hold it’s either a mistake, or it’s part of another planned upgrade. It’s completely outside normal use parameters IMO. Temporary, difficult, inelegant.

Maybe if they were to extend it to 30 seconds I could see it, or something at least more reasonable second-wise. But this crazy, itty bitty nothing of a boost specific to one of the neutral factions, and barely if at all useful, and then only for a short while? Nah. It’s has to be unintended or future useful.
